Sr. first mate Big Don has been off the water for a while, so I wanted to make a trip with him to get him back outdoors and on the water. We chose today, May 21, 2024, for our adventure. Knowing that a successful day of fishing often requires a bit of extra help, I decided to enlist some backup. At our Team Jo-Jo meeting last Saturday, I asked Big Rudy if he would like to join us. His response was enthusiastic, like a Silverwonders attacking a Salt Strong Power Prawn.
With both a first mate and a second mate on board, we set out for our favorite fishing spot, our own version of Disney World, known as Delacroix Island. The weather was perfect, and the excitement was palpable as we navigated the waters in search of the elusive Silverwonders and Redwarriors. Having Big Don back on the boat and Big Rudy’s experienced presence made the trip even more special. We explored various spots, shared stories, and enjoyed the thrill of the catch, relishing the beauty and serenity of Delacroix Island.

• Lessons learned:
Oak River Troll technique / presentation producing in a big way.
Tandem rig with ¼ oz on bottom, and 3/8 oz. on top work well today too
Silverwonders stacked up in some old Team Jo-Jo spot numbers.
Team Jo-Jo zone 2 on map has some real good clarity water in that area, on a scale of 1-7 it would be a 6 minus, looking good.
Oak River clarity a 3 minus
Redwarriors left spot # 21.
• Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

Great trip again Boss! Nothing better than being w fishing buddies and having the trip come together w the fishing god blessing us with a great catch. The Boss put us on them again. For those who are thinking what is the oak river troll? Do a little research on the channel and Boss explains this concept or join us on 3rd Saturday of each month at Fatty’s seafood were he can personally explain the technique, a great technique for your arsenal!! This day I changed the upper jig head from 1/4 oz to 1/8 oz. This allowed me to get a few doubles. Thanks as always to the Boss!

Very therapeutic trip that was good for the soul with the people you would want to do this with, my fishing brothers. Close to a perfect trip as one could ask for, the fish gods evenly distributed and gave bounty to all who dared.

Gators looking for a handout. Looks like the American work ethic has spread into the animals as well😂. Really nice mixed bag. The king of Delacroix put you’ll on them again. Watching these videos is hard to do knowing I can’t go out for at least another week. Guess I’ll have to make up for lost time😊

Great video. I’m jealous. On our trip a few weeks ago the wind was doing about 20 one way and the coefficient of the tide had the tide going about 10 mph the other way. I’ll be back. Thanks for the tips sir.
When we have those conditions, (re: wind / tide in different directions) we do "Revers Oak River Troll" technique presentation, works for us.
