Stained Glass Effect in Epoxy Resin Coasters using Pebeo Vitrail Glass Paints
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 сен 2024
- An experiment using Pebeo Vitrail glass paints in epoxy resin to create drinks coasters.
The paints worked great on the resin but had some unusual side-effects when encapsulated. The white and violet featured in this video were the most noticeable.

Beautiful, Ace!!
I hope you're coming back soon. Is it COPD that's keeping you away?
Absolutely beautiful! I would love to do this to recreate the stained glass window design my grandfather made for my grandmother. My grandfather passed away and my mom was heartbroken that she couldn't uninstall the windows and save them before my grandmother sold the house and moved to a nursing home. Something like this would be a perfect Mother's Day gift for my mom and grandmother!
Oh you should absolutely do that!! That would be such a heartfelt gift. You could even do it ad a miniature version of the windows so that your mom could hang them as sun catchers! Best of luck, Stay Safe!
thts a beautiful idea!!🤗
That’s some interesting parallax distortion going on from our angle while you’re making the outlines.
It looked like I was missing my mark! 🤣♠
you really /rose/ to the occasion with these! your talent for these resin projects really is flowering nice and strong- I’ll stop
Haha! You can have a job writing my captions 🤣♠
I think I love the beige even more than I did the white! The discoloration actually made the colors match even more! It looks amazing!
Aaaaaa😭 I can’t sit at home anymore, but safety is above all😫 Thank you for killing my boredom like these bubbles!😘
The paints change color, it turned out great🎨🌹
Well, here's me thinking the glass pattern in my front door was nice. Then I saw this! It's brilliant!!! Bravo 👏👏👏
For my next project I'll be doing a 20 foot church window 😁♠
Very pretty!!!
Also, thank you for the dying bubbles sound effect, it makes me smile! 😋
Love the work and the music. Well done. 👍
Love how this turned out! And I have all the above from different projects so this gives me an idea for the stay at home order. Also. LOVED the choice of background music ❤️ stay safe. Love your videos.
Thank you 😎♠
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you, and first! So early! 😁♠
First time I’ve had captions on your videos, omg so funny! Everyone needs to turn captions on! I think I need to re watch your videos with them on now lol. Excellent video as always, thank you for sharing 🥰🌈
Yes, yes you should. Go back and re watch them all you will not be disappointed!
You are the best ! I love your ideas! I would like to try it in my jewelry creations 💃
The coasters are absolutely beautiful! Even though the white didn’t stay white, they look like yellow roses ❤️ I would love to see a lighthouse done like stained glass ❤️❤️ Prayers you and your family stay healthy and safe 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️ Here in Georgia USA, we’re under a shelter in place until April 13❤️Thank you for your videos to take my mind off of these trying times❤️❤️😘💕🥰😍
I have never gone this long without a visit to the craft store 😖 I do miss it ♠
I know. I do a lot of ordering on Amazon 😊
I did something like this once. I took a picture frame and put an outline drawing like your pattern in the frame. I then outlined it on the front side of the glass with black puff paint. Once it was dried I filled it in with UV resin and cured it. It turned out pretty nice for a first attempt. I have since bought some floating picture frames so I can put the finished pieces in a window just like stained glass!
I've always been drawn to stained glass art but so intimidating to make it. This is brilliant! Thanks for sharing
Seriously impressive ... sure beats the ones I've seen before .. love the relief paint! Thanks again for being so inspiring xx
Thanks! That's another experiment ticked off the list 😎♠
One of my favourite moulds to use. Will definitely try the stained glass look now. Another awesome movie
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!
I love it! My sister does stained glass and this is a way to do it without the solder, glass cutting, etc.
So glad you've tried relief paste / paint, I've been thinking of trying it for ages! 💜
Hermoso trabajo quedó !!!! super lindo !!!! abrazo desde Durazno Uruguay
This was a cool new technique to see. Interesting that the colors changed like that.
resinAce once again you've come up with a great artistic piece that I can easily duplicate in my own colors. TFS
Even with the colors changing, that was super creative.
Chemical reactions are always fascinating, the colours aren't entirely unflattering and still, that's interesting! I wonder if alcohol inks would have been friendlier.
Absolutely love this one. Thanks for showing more of your resin work. Always love what you do.
Absolutely beautiful♥️🙏🏻Love the stained glass effect ♥️
Very nice! Love seeing the how to! So creative and enjoy the comments.
Thank you for yet another wonderful tutorial (and for keeping things normal; hugs from my family in the US to yours)!
These are stunning!
Gorgeous and such a creative, unique idea. Love it!
Amazing and so cute, very helpful idea 💡 I will do it and used it as a garden decoration 👍. Thank you for sharing
Really stunning, I love them ❤️❤️❤️
I love your flour joke, especially since my own hubby made that joke just a few days ago, because he bought me 25 pounds of all-purpose flour!! 😂🤣😂
This is lovely and helpful and the screaming bubbles cracked me up so thank you
what a cool idea, never thought of doing that
I liked the colour changes, these are gorgeous. My liner always has a bit air in it 😬 so it splodges, I have been trying to use small piping bags. Thank you for video much needed! 😁
I did have one moment off-camera where it did a little 'spit' from the tube 😖♠
Love these absolutely stunning
This is by far my favorite RUclips channel.
Very pretty idea. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Those stained glass effect coasters are awesome, and very beautiful,, stunning idea,,, Electra has an attertudedo problem!!!!!,,. I at one time used fabrics paint on a bathroom wall, in the bathroom, I made the reeds sea weeds, going up the wall around the bath, and head and foot end,, I used tulip fabric paint in glitter of colors available, and the same with the crystal type fabric paint, plus pearl, puffy and slick and silver and gold and copper metallic ones,, and painted with the tubes on the wall that had been painted in light blue, then drew in the fish going both right and left, large and small ,fish, scattered around the wall glittered and crystal paint and metallic plus seaflowers and corals and shells glued around where the rim on the bath closest to the wall done the mirror same theme with shells and fish too, it looks awesom when finished it too ages, about 2 months, but it realy paid off ,, mabey fabric paint might be able to be used in resin the paints are washable, as it's used for tee shirts, or it can be dried first,,on something then added to resin, not used them for a while,,, sorry for longggggggggg comment, but I wanted to share that with you,👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟
I would have liked to see a picture of that, sounds awesome! 😎♠
@@resinAce I DID HAVE THE PICTURE, AT ONE TIME ON MY PHONE, BUT WHEN I WENT BACK INTO IT, IT WAS NO WERE TO BE FOUND, I WAS SO UPSET, AS IT TOOK AGES TO COMPLETE BUT, WHAT I CAN DO IS TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE FROM MEMORY ON A CANVAS,, YOU JUST HSVE TO IMAGINE IT ON A LARGER SCALE. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH, SO WAS MY LAND LORD AT THE TIME,HES GONE TO REST NOW R.I.P. ,,,,,,,,,AS I HAD ASKED HIS PERMISSION FIRST,, IT WAS LOVELY RELAXING IN THE BATH,LOOKING AT THE BATHROOM AQUARIUM,,, THAT I HAD DONE,,,,AND IMAGINING THEM SWIMMING AROUND ME!!!!! AHHHHH THE GOOD OLD DAYS, IF YOU SEND ME AN EMAIL I WILL REPLY ,,,AND I CAN ALSO. CANVAS PAINT BATHROOM WALL FROM MY MEMORY, SO THAT YOU WILL GET A BETTER IDEA OF HOW IT LOOKED. ,,,,ALSO WHEN FABRIC PAIN GETS WET IT DRYS BACK TO ITS NORMAL GLITTERY SELF THE COLORS ALWAYS LOOK DULL AFTER BEING IN WATER OR WET, BUT DRYS OUT NORMAL AND IS PERMANENT. ANYWAY TAKE CARE STAY SAFE,(ʘᴗʘ✿)👍👍👍👍🍂🍁
Nice video, and project. It is interesting how the white and violet reacted once covered, as you mentioned. The paint colors reacted much like a living flower. It's still pretty though.
Another beautiful and interesting project!
molto interessante e bella idea che si può applicare a tante cose. Grazie
Very beautiful! And the sense of humor is great! 😁
Thank you, a bit of normality is helping me to cope with the lock-down 😎♠
@@resinAce yes I understand, this is so stressful! 🙄🤦♀️
I love how it turned out, it looks so cool!
Thank you! 😁♠
Very cool Work 😎👍, i like it 😊
Screaming bubbles....totally forgot why i was watching😂😂😂😂 beautiful work!! I'm inspired!
I could've sworn you had purple in there...
It's beautiful! Love it. ♥️👍
Yes, the resin had a strange effect on some of the colours. I've tested them all and it was only really the violet and white that noticeably changed. ♠
Sooo pretty!
Super, j'adore merci pour cette nouvelle vidéo
I've honestly seen some pretty realistic stained glass effects achieved just by using regular resin inks and a small amount of pearlescent powder.
Yes, I've done stained glass effect with resin but wanted to try the Vitrail paints. The paints are better for filling in between the relief outliner.
Loved the coaster, definitely one to try...unfortunately although I actually love yr jokes my son just gives me “the look” 😂😂
Congrats on 105K subs!
I love this idea, so many possibilities! Thanks
Have fun with it! 😁♠
I love this idea!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love it, I'll do it. Thanks for keep on sharing your talent.
Very nicely done like your ideas
Awesome, I love rennie mackintosh 👍👏
Very nice piece!
Tfs 🦉🎨
Very pretty
Thanks! 😎♠
I love your videos so much. It’s so satisfying to me 😍
Thanks for watching them! 😁♠
Strange but cool-looking what happened to the white and purple. Nice project!
They changed colour under the resin. The instructions advised to coat with Pebeo Bindex before glazing with resin, but I did not (because I didn't have any and all the craft stores are currently closed) 😫 At least I learnt something from the experiment 😁♠
Wow! Those are beautiful! I never thought to paint the resin for color instead of doing individual pots for all the colors. I'll have to try that. :D
So Beautiful
Omg. I died when you killed the bubbles. Lol
Very pretty Ace! This looks really pretty, even with the color change! Great job my man, thanks for sharing! Be safe and Happy Easter 🐇🐣! Pam 😊💜
Thank you, Happy Easter too 😎♠
Those are beautiful
Thank you! 😁♠
So pretty
awesome! luv it!♥️ and thank u for the info and the links!!
Beautiful!!
God, Alexia is VICIOUS! Love the end results, even with the colour morphing. So gorgeous. I'd love to give that a try but I'm concerned about the potential for fumes from the resin, as I can't easily do this in a well ventilated space. Maybe I should stick to my knitting! LOL I So much bubble murder, I loved it. And I actually giggle-snorted at your favourite flower and the coming back from the dead jokes. Thanks so much for sharing, as always! 💜 I hope you're well and keeping your head down. Also, I'm now realising I didn't get the previous video notification... dammit Google!.
Thank you, you need to seek out a non-toxic resin brand. You can get art resin now that is VOC-free so shouldn't give you a major problem with fumes. ♠
@@resinAce Awesome thank you - I'll look into that!
Bellissimo,di grande effetto
Oh wow love this, you have given me so many ideas with your vids - THANK YOU and STAY SAFE 💖
Thanks for watching! 😁♠
Extrañaba mucho tus videos!, me encantan 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, hermoso trabajo disfrute mucho viéndote crear 😊, saludos 💖
Love this! I don’t happen to have any resin but I have a pebio kit and these outlining pens with cool
paints and some glass tiles I picked up free
Gave me ideas on how to make use of so stashed art supplies.
I think maybe using egg shell and the outliner with pebio glass paints might look cool for Easter as well
I've seen a miltitude of different uses for this mould but you had to come up with a new and brilliant idea!? My glasspaints are all dried up but I think I can do something similar with polymer clay and tinted resin...
I bought this mould ages ago and then saw it used on RUclips too many times, but i really wanted to use it so had to think of something different 😎♠
I’m so so excited thank you for sharing
The red looked great I would have done pink instead of white for the other roses and I wish the purple stayed that pretty light color, still looked pretty dang awesome
Nice work😀😍Stained Glass Effect,i see you use a toothpic instead of a Pipette.Could you make a full small window panel using your technique.
Maybe sometime (epoxy resin jigsaw pices😁😂)keep up the videos.
Yes you could easily scale this up to something bigger.
Spreading that paint around with a toothpick would drive me nuts! Cheers to your patience. :)
Always love your work! Your logo would look so cool in stained glass. What was up with the white and purple turning on ya?? At least the other colors rose to the occasion! 😄 Be safe.
Nice, 'rose', as in 🌹😂 please tell me that was intentional!
@@jollyjackalope97 It most definitely was!!! Good eye!🌹😄
That's the thing with experimenting, you never quite know what will happen 😁♠
I absolutely adore this. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next. How about a stained glass dream catcher type thing. I wonder would the light shine through like an actual stained glass
That would be a great idea. 😎♠
So cool!!!
Thank you 😎♠
very nice. thanks for share!
Как красиво! Спасибо!
That is beautiful♥️
Thank you! ♠
Automatic like when I see your new video is up! Very pretty coasters, and so different from what I usually see out of that particular mold (sorry, mould). Also, excellent use of strike-through ;)
Thank you, yes I've seen this mould used a few times before and wanted to do something different with it ♠
Love the idea, am definitely going to try.
❤️
It's a very authentic-looking effect 😎♠
Huh thats a interesting way of doing it, I also like how EvanandKatelyn did theirs too. I wonder how many other different ways you can do stained glass effects with resin
Complimenti 👏👏👏👏
The pebeo paints are quite good. You only need to be able to draw smoothly to get a neat finish.
I loved how the colours went natural in the resin. Naughty Alexa
Beautiful
Very cool!
Ouch Alexa!
Pretty like a flower 😳🤔😂😂❤️
Saludos desde 🇲🇽 está muy bonito cómo todo lo que realizas espero que en tu país no esté muy feo lo de la pandemia cuídate
No podemos salir y todas las tiendas están cerradas.
It’s probably the heat from the resin as it cures that causes the colour changes. You could try it with the pebeo oven bake paints. I would think that being encased in resin would remove the necessity for the 40 minute bake - it’s not going to wash off, after all :)
I’ll have to try it myself... once I’m able to get my moulds back from my daughter (accidentally gave them to her with all of my polymer clay stuff just before the lockdown here).
Hi, the instructions advise to coat in Pebeo Bindex before glazing with resin, so maybe that would help with the discolouration? I didn't have any or I would have done that. I'm going to do a colour chart for future reference so I'll try with and without Bindex to see if it makes a difference ♠
Very cool.
