I remember how shocked was I when I first went on this ride. This was my first big roller coaster and first amusement park that I went to. Haha that was crazy. At this time i didn't know much about roller coasters and i didn't know that launch coasters even exist. That was very funny haha, me and my father and sister were shocked for the next 10 minutes haha. Since then I love roller coasters

One of my absolute favourite attractions for such a unique theme, one of the only winged launched coasters, and one hell of a start!!
The only thing I would like, is the pre-show, on opening used to have a lot more elements and animatronics, and it's sad that each year they're not being renovated
The monkey no longer fully operates, nor does the scientist go down the pipe above anymore, which really add to the overall feel

This was the last ride we did at Port Aventura - my son failed to tell me that it was a launch coaster so my picture was probably priceless...we were on the left hand side (( was on the end seat!)...really loved this ride!

Initial launch is better than Red Force. Is pretty damn rough though. The queue jumpers seem to love this ride ;)
I don’t find it rough, just very intense and abrupt! But still kind of smooth and so pleasant. It is hard to imagine what the acceleration is like. What an amazing coaster.

Unfortunately the queue jumping is out of control here!

Furius Baco, I love this ride but I do agree is rough as anything but its sooooo good and I had a similar situation and could have been on the same day, I remember being in the queue for it for hours and everyone was sat down and chatting to each other and if I remember some guys were playing cards in the queue and got loads of people involved. Its a great ride and got some funny memories from it

Rode this once in early 2010’s (I think). Had wrap around shades on and assumed they would stick to my face due to its speed. The moment we accelerated I grimaced and held on for dear life. Got to the barrel roll and my glasses flew off never to be seen again! Hated every second of it. Been there multiply times since, always think about my glasses and where they ended up. Still got the photo with them on at the launch 😂

I love it! I rode this about fifty times and i love Furius Baco. The intensity of this ride is insane. My favourite coaster at Port Aventura :) (it's my local park)

Queued for 3.5hrs ? Wow. I remember those days at Alton Towers back in the day.
Loved it up front. Didn't like it towards the back. I would have ridden it more, but the fact you couldn't choose your row made me feel very fortunate I got row 1 for my first ride.
It’s definitely better near the front
Furius Baco was the first inverted (and first real) coaster I’d ever been on in my life at the age of 16 and kick started my passion for coasters. It was crazy, I screamed and virtually cried but the adrenaline rush was nothing I had ever experienced before. I’ve been to PAV twice since. 25 now and can’t wait to go back once covid is over and take my little boy to SesamoAventura, and get my partner on them all too!

This is a pretty underrated coaster, yeah it is rough but it doesn’t deserve the hate it gets.
When everything opens up consider this. In the europe roadtrips you didnt go to scandinavia so maybe a scandinavia roadtrip? I live in Denmark and here are some ideas for parks that you can visit (In denmark):

Fårup Sommerland
Djurs Sommerland
Tivoli
Bakken
Bonbon-Land

I have been on this ride and WOW, feels like all my internal organs where going to come out of my bum (the first time i went on it). Loved this ride. The second time i went on Furius Baco, one of my boobs fell out of my top..... lol
It’s certainly an intense experience!
Rode this in 2019 and I absolutely loved it! Yes it’s abit rough but it’s so fun, the launch was so powerful and I got goosebumps looking back at the footage of it. I belted my hand off a bush during the inline twist too and i couldn’t stop laughing
The coaster looks so good, I’d love to get on it one day!

Furious Baco is my number one worst coaster. I promised myself never to go on it again. Then a couple years later I tried it again and thought the same X 2. I Will never ride this thing again... until next time maybe..
Same. I think I've been on it three times across two trips and if I'm ever back there I will probably give it a miss unless it's end-of-day and I feel like having a pretty brutal headache. I love the theme, the concept, the layout, just not the roughness of execution. It is WAY beyond Gerstlauer levels of discomfort. If it were smooth then it would be a serious favourite of mine - but it's not.

I love the theme tune! It’s so memorable and catchy. My main issues are the rattle and the poor operations/capacity.
Unfortunately so. The operations are usually very slow!
This rollercoaster is amazing the story before you go and it fills up with wine but I found the first turn pretty rough especially when you're shoulders are sun burnt
Love port aventura, furious baco is rough but what a ride it is. Shambhala is decent. Dragon Khan still my personal fav though.

I’m pretty sure, but not 100% certain. The ride was sponsored early days by Torres. I remember going before and after the FB installation, and I’ve been on a Torres vineyard tour in the region. I seem to recall collecting some pin badges from the ride shop to including a Torres win bottle.
I know you described the ride as having a weird theme, but I’ve always thought it made sense with the whole wine region on the doorstep?
I loved this ride. Also, I didn't find it uncomfortable at all!
I’m pretty sure having been on this ride so many times that as the monkey pulls the leaver the train doesn’t just roll into place like other intamin launch coasters but it actually judders slightly to add effect
I know that you mean, I think it’s the speed of the catch car attaching!
lol I’ve been hit by a branch during the inline twist too!! Maybe they’re not so strict with the trimming of the plants in that section
I went there two years ago and looking at ride POVs, I really wanted to get on it but when i was standing in front of it I chickened out :( Honestly, I've never been upside down on a rollercoaster and always wanted to try, that coaster being the start. Water rides are more my thing tbh

Having arrived a bit late to the party lm still not sure what to think of the ride.
I missed out on furious baco when i visited becouse of its long queline i hope to ride it during my next visit.
Quality ride. It fits so well into the area and Portaventura just wouldn't be the same without it! A great way to start your day at the park. The theme is one of the best and so fresh and simple. Here...Shaun glad you took my advice and cut out the over use of your word "blimey" lol

Yooo great video! I go to portaventura every summer and I ride furios baco at least 5 times in row because i just leave this incredible acceleration and the perfect theaming
But shambala and red force are also incredible

It's kinda funny, as average as I think this ride is, it's not for the general reason most people say. When I went to PortAventura, I sadly only got 1 ride, (Row 2 inside right) and I really didn't find it that rough. Sure it's a bit shaky, but I found Khan to have a stronger rattle on it's cobra roll and corkscrews. But my general opinion of the ride comes from the layout itself, while I enjoy the launch, and the roll is the only moment of sustained hangtime I actually rather enjoy, The majority of the layout achieves nothing imo. The ride delivers no force of any kind outside of the 2 elements already mentioned. I find the layout to be rather underwhelming for an 80mph short intamin accelerator, especially as someone who always comes off speechless with stealth. I do need rerides for sure tho, and hopefully I can get a better opinion of the ride in the future. Also, a Stampida/Tomahawk review in the future would be pretty cool ngl.

I went on this in 2019, didn’t realise it was a launch coaster. It was so rough I sustained a head injury and had a terrible headache constantly for two weeks. Had to go to hospital and it ruined my trip to Spain. Never going near this ride again!

I hate this ride it's too tough for me sister loves it though to be honest
I didn't realise this was a launch coaster when I rode it in 2008. It seemed rather tame. I sat with my head forward. It got whacked back and I spent the rest of the ride practically unconscious!
It does take people by surprise!
The launch was brilliant, but then it was just so shaky and rough especially the inversion. However it looks stunning as you walk into portadventura

I actually rode this with u and charlotte in 2017 after meeting in the queline. I was so hungover haha. This is great wide to get a wake up on I love the launch and the rest is a bit meh tbh 🤣

During the construction of the ride they had issues with the hole that they had to make in the first curve of the ride and that supposed to spend more money that it was provided, so they had to cut the budget of the theming that it was supposed to be during the layout, the tunnel is an example. Sorry for my english

Went on it a couple of years ago, my first coaster with an inversion! I loved it, I agree fully with you Shawn incredible views off ride, Its rough but for a first real intense coaster to go on I didn't think it was too rough until the final turn 🤣, but fantastic views of the entrance from the right side 2nd row (which is where I sat) definitely enjoyable for me! Thanks for yet again an awesome review 👍🏼

I love the launch and the Inversion, the ride was not as rough as I thought it would be. In the Inversion while you are upside down its great to wave to the people who are on the other side wing

My mum LOVES this ride but it’s just too rough/painful for me! It’s rare I say that about a coaster but it really is unbearable. Love the launch though.

this ride is iconic and i love it, however due to its age its so so rickerty and i always hurt my head ahahah and its quite sad the animatromics are broken now 😔

I definitely agree with you. It’s uniqueness and roughness helps it stand out against other wing coasters! Plus they somehow gave good theming to Cattle pen queues!

I enjoyed it and I honestly braced myself for the worst but once id been on it I didnt find it too bad infact I thought dragon Khan was worse but that could of been cause i was tired when i rode it
I've never enjoyed Furious Baco, nor had the opportunity to develop a soft spot for it. But one of the best memories I have had at a Theme Park was sitting on a patio near the coaster, having a tapas lunch with my family. Gorgeous setting, food, service, and at midday that whole area was gorgeous and quiet. Would certainly recommend

Still yet to go to Port Adventura but it is high up the list. Shambala is my most anticipated coaster there!
Shambala is so damn fine. One of my favourite coasters I've ever been on.

It’s a very underrated coaster in my opinion
I remember my first ride on this one over 10 years ago now. I had NO IDEA it was a launched coaster. I was sat there watching the pre-show, and BAM. Very surprising!

Was expecting this ride to be my favourite when I visited PortAventura but it turned out to be my least favourite. Far too rough for me even when I was right at the front, a shame really since I love the look of this ride.
