- San Marcos, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala . . . I can't say it was my favourite place but on our last day when all the clouds finally lifted it was a like a dream place. ( although I think it would have been even better in another smaller town )
The lake is wonderful and sad all at the same time. But being able to see the volcano and a crystal clear lake is something out of this world.

A few comments in order with video :
a) Most rubbish is spread by animals - mostly dogs, cats, birds, foxes etc. It's still the human's fault but it's spread by animals and then wind, water and gravity does the rest. Guatemala needs a "Clean Up Guatemala Day". Perhaps the US backed regime in Guatemala could fund it ? I doubt it.
Note : Dumping bulk rubbish in nature is also happening and this is just wrong.
b) 93% of Americans are obese and unhealthy.
c) So in the end we get to see the volcano, a chicken, a dog and some girl with her hair back like Audrey Hepburn.
You’re right, I saw heaps of dogs going through whatever was on the ground. I would hate to know how much plastic they ate with it.

Tourism and expats in Lake Atitlan are making it less afford for the Guatemalan-Mayans who’ve inhabited the place for thousands of years.
those gold duds would not look good on Matt. Pity nobody organizes the towns folk into cleaning the damn place up. Judging by the size of the drains they get torrential rain so it will all run into their drinking supply. BE thankful that that parasitic volcano is releasing the pressure from the magma chamber. Otherwise, you might get parboiled. Hope you and Mathew are okay. I think you should leave those toy boys alone dear.
