I bought this just a week ago on the back of watching that 'why i returned' video you made. I'm absolutely loving it, i love the complexity, the obscure systems, the way the world is just so deep, intricate and utterly overwhelming and nothing is ever explained properly and the sense of achievement you feel when by trial and error something suddenly makes sense, you really do feel like you are just thrown into this crazy manic world as an absolute nobody and as you slowly progress it all starts opening up as you grow stronger and stronger!

Wow it sounds like you are going about it in the least fun way possible! I suppose if you are totally PvP focused it makes a strange kind of sense but I don't have any major interest in PvP, I never PK for example I would only ever defend myself and I have taken a completely different approach to the game and I'm having a blast! I've basically tried to become the richest person in the world (not particularly succesfully lol) and to have the biggest trading empire, the largest fishing fleet, the greatest farming empire etc etc, I kill mobs sure but only to uncover nodes and thats in the process of exploring and I do it to roleplay meeting new contacts and setting up business deals! I have so much going on with creating workshops, raising amity, learning alchemy and cooking, training and breeding horses etc that I am never bored and the big thing is my aim is to be able to buy anything I want from the marketplace, i still want the best gear but mindlessly grinding mobs just so you can PK other players sounds like utter braindead madness! Now I'm not going to tell you how to play a game and I mean I love the combat and I am sure will join a guild eventually and do all the node war stuff eventually, when I am geared up enough but I think it is missing out on a huge part of the game!
Try learning how to troll pc master race. Just because you want to play this game differently does not exuse the complete garbage system that is currently in place. Their should be no reason what so ever that you should be excusing these massive problems or treating them as small and unimportant just because you found a way you can enjoy it, because games like this in the west do not last. The only reason why this game is going to last longer than some other asian games that have done this shit is the result of the graphics. Trust me, if this game contiues down this route the population will slowly decrease over time and envtually die out. I have seen this happen countless times in where these same issues become bloated and worse to the point to where people cant take it anymore and quit, the worse example being silk road online. I could go into how the node system is bland and unfleshed out "also going for the proffesion's" but i this post is big enough already

I've always had my eye on on Black Desert Online ever since your first impressions, but I never had a computer to play it (or any other cool game for that matter because I had no computer - not even a potato one). I just recently bought a new and really good pc after saving for months, and I have started playing. Man am I thankful for this beginner's guide. When I first spawned in the world of Black Desert it was pretty easy to move forward with such a nice tutorial but when you find out about all the extra things that Black Desert offers you, it can be pretty overwhelming and it certainly had me wondering "wow... what should I do with myself? I guess I should just do a bunch of random quests to get the hang of things." So thanks peon, this guide will help a lot

Honestly this is the first gameplay/tutorial video of any kind that I've watched in months where I didn't instantly hate whomever was talking; and I watched it right to the end. Kudos my man, I'm subbing.
Oh boy did you helped this poor and confused soul, downloaded it yesterday and after a couple hours banging my head on all the map nodes and tradings and city stuff, i went directly to your channel, coming from WoW until BfA hits. Thanks ma dud
@Loven Tidus yes easy to understand, boring as hell for a game with this for the description, Black Desert Online is a sandbox, living-world MMORPG. Experience fast-paced, action-packed combat, hunt monsters and huge bosses, fight with friends in a guild to siege nodes and conquer castles, train your life skills such as fishing, trading, crafting, cooking, and much more!
Throwing my hat in to say that this is, by far, the best and most comprehensive, yet understandable guide for Black Desert Online. Everything is explained in enough detail to make perfect sense without being too explicit and confusing. I'm looking forward to spending some time in game and getting my node and workers set up and making me some money! One thing that would be AMAZING, and I'm not real sure if/how it could be done, would be to have "quick links" to jump ahead in the video to a specific section (ie - Lifeskills or Gearing) without having to try skipping around in the video. Thanks for the great video!
Hello random RUclips comment scroller, Most people will not see this but it's important to know that you can make your sorceress and archer characters appear as night elves from World of Warcraft (pretty neat don't you think).
Great video and I can tell why you have been grinding a hellalot with that many contribution points and energy, let alone your ap/dp, level and cash gains. Love the videos @TheLazyPeon, keep up the great work man.
I loved the combat system in BDO, but after hours running around not feeling the story whatever and no reason why I was doing anything I started feel my interest was dwindling. Then when I found out no matter what piece of gear I equipped didn't change the way I looked and everyone looked the same no matter what level or gear you would get unless you paid for skins I knew this game wasn't for me. I like to grind for gear I know will make me more powerful and look different. Shame as the the combat is really good but for a mmo I want more then just combat.
Dan198Zero Same. The game feels like it has no direction or end purpose. Just Farming for the sake of Farming. Nothing else in the game seems meaningful when playing. I quit a few weeks ago, it started off pretty cool with the graphics and combat system it had in place, but then it just turned into Solo farming till 56. I guess it was the hype I had for it.
Farming for the sake of farming? (wets pants) So for someone like me who hates instanced dungeons and only spends time running amok in the open world.... (jumps for joy)
Thank you for convincing me to uninstall this game (sad, it's a beautiful game) ... no wonder I got it for $6 on Steam. This thing is a chore ... not a game. (wth was the developers thinking?)
I think this video is convincing me to quit and take my wife with me. She already hates that it seems like a chore and I'm struggling to convince her to keep playing...
Great beginner video man .... love the work and effort put in ... comprehensive enough and touches upon everything even remotely relevant .... thanks for your time and effort.
Cheers for the vid mate, I only started playing BDO 2 days ago, looked at a heap of 'How-To' guides, but yours is by far the most comprehensible so far that I've found.
13:55 If you're new to the game and getting a nose bleed about now. Don't worry, it's incredibly confusing to everyone. I started with Mashing potatoes, then try to figure out what to do with all the Flour, then dough then, buy a house to cook them, then make my own stoves. The game has a wonderful tangled ball of yarn aspect to it. My advice, If you get overwhelmed Just Pick 1 thing and go.
Great content without any useless bullshit. I've been playing BDO since it came up and this guide is one of the best I've seen so far when it comes to new players. Way to go man!
I'm only level 20, I've been playing only for a day and I already feel like not putting time into the game... I was so excited for this game, but everything is super overwhelming and I hate pvp... oh well.. ;_;
ShizukaShizuka! I think people run into these games alone and forget this is an mmo and think of this as a solo game. Find friends it’ll make it less overwhelming. There should be guilds out there and the game is a lot easier to find people than other mmos
One thing I highly disagree on for new players is buying already upgraded GREEN gear (armor and weapons). You should learn how to enchant when the time comes, you may fear the RNG but if you stick with it, within a week you will regret spending the money, as it is cheaper and tbh its really easy. Peon has already explained but - Google the failstack charts > Create alts to failstack on > craft or buy the wep/armor > enchant. Failing an enchant is not always a bad thing as it progresses to your next chance of upgrading whatever it may be. Be patient and you will save alot more money early on. My top advises are REBLATH ARMOR and NEGATIVE KARMA ALT. Goodluck.
This is SUCH a good guide, especially the Node stuff. I stopped playing for a whole year and even when I did play I didn't understand any node related things or workers. Really glad I came upon this, gonna have to save it to look back at when I need to remember something I learned from this! :)
Thank you for making this guide. Even though I'm playing on ps4, your instructions and tips make total sense and has been more informative than all of the other guides I've watched combined. They say that genius is taking something complicated and making it simple, and you sir, have succeeded. Thank you again.
this beginner's guide still overwhelmed me around the ten minutes mark. decided to just keep on questing and figure it all out by myself as things come along.
@@simonwarren8856 what he means is there is no danger i think. You are a GOD and the mobs never even hurt me once the entire time i played up to lvl 56 then i removed it cause he is right, the combat is boring.
I've been watching your BD videos and you actually sold me the game. Now I bought game, it's on my download list and when its done I Will watch tos video again. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
i remember getting the game when it was released in my region (SEA). but although I somewhat understood the combat system, and did quests for the heck of it, i did not understand the game at all. It really does just throw you into a virtual world, with no ropes attached, with minimal tutorials. Thanks for making this vid, I've been having to urge to play an mmo again, and this was one I already have access to c:
Just started this game today, played for afew hours and really enjoying it looks beautiful. The controls were alittle weird (on xbox) but afew an hour or so started getting used to it. Really looking forward to more adventures in this game can't wait to start the crafting empire 😊
I don't get why people are still talking about how pay to win BDO is... You can only get ~24 million from selling a costume at the marketplace (which are 30€ each) AND you are restricted to 5 pearl items per week. So basically 120 million. Which is not even enough to buy the best weapons in the marketplace, which go for 300 mill + (from what i've seen anways, probably even more).
TET Kzarka is 1b. I'm sure it depends on which scenario which weapon you get but looking AP wise then it is the best weapon. If I'm wrong please correct me.
Thanks for sharing. Finally starting BDO over I understood what was going on around me.. When I played the trial I decided to quit since I couldn't sell stuff / was overloaded / inventory spammed / weight spammed / Quest overloaded / etc. Now I went into the game from scratch and did everything to the same point in game within 2 hours instead of 5.. Thank you.
Settlement management? I’m just here to fight stuff, not rule the world... I’m starting to get some Warframe flashbacks. I hope most of these mechanics aren’t mandatory for progress.
They are ...only 2 ways to progress 1: enhance gear yourself (And hope RNG blesses your poor soul) , or 2 level up life skills to make enough money to just buy it ........well I guess there is the ever present 3. Pay to Win.
Thanks for this guide. I finally understand how nodes and workers work. Other guides start rambling about fine tuning stats and I don't even know what else. This was very easy to follow.
I was so hyped for this game, on the forums everyday months before the game released(ended up with 300+ posts before launch), Got into the game (finally) after the beta"s where i was just messing around, and froze up. Complete sensory overload, ended up getting my Wizard and Warrior to lvl 21 (both) and just lost all interest. I have only started playing again in the last few days and this video helped A LOT. thanks.
Although English is not my mother tongue but I find out this video is really helpful for me as a new player it’s really easy to understand very clear! Thank you so much make this great video to guide me! Love your work! Thank you!
Bought this game drunk one night on Steam when it was on sale for $5, starting it today with my boyfriend and this guide was incredibly helpful, great job!
I wish to play this game, but as my character appearance plays a LARGE role in deciding whether i should play a certain MMO or not, and you guessed it, with such good character customization, I am still not happy that I can not make a magician that has a WHITE hair but looks as young as Cloud (or me) at about age of 20. There are some other things that I certainly do not like in this game, but I guess it is mainly that. I wish i could REMOVE those damn WRINKLES. How come female characters look young and males only look older than 30yrs? Oh hell yes - most mages look like Gandalf...pretty much!!! Not playing this game until they do not rework this character customization! I refuse to play as an old grandpa wizard!
They added an ability to make young looking wizards. I didn't really want to make one, but I still poked in to see, and it was the last face option. The young face was very young looking (maybe 16-20) and had blonde or red hair, can't remember.
I love the complexity and unique innovations and features as well as the UI and afk mechanics. The overwhelming amount of content and mechanics makes it seem like real life love it

There's alot of things to learn but once you do, they become quite dull and feels like more of a chore than a fun thing to do. I like 3 things in this game - Combat, Graphics and the Classes.. nothing else.. U might think that you can just play those aspects of the game, make alts and do alot of combat.. nope
I just started playing two days ago, and this guide helped me out so much. The little tidbits you offer like about the UI and questing/grinding really helped. I rewatched again today and will be trying to tackle starting up the worker empire. Thanks!

same :D
r u still playing the game?
@@Gurestam are you?
@@pixelmaster9964 LMAOOOOOOO 2 years later... But no, I haven't played much of BDO at all! Have you?
@@Gurestam yes I would consider myself rather well versed I have all of 2.2 hours in the game im just built a bit different
Oh boy did you helped this poor and confused soul, downloaded it yesterday and after a couple hours banging my head on all the map nodes and tradings and city stuff, i went directly to your channel, coming from WoW until BfA hits. Thanks ma dud
Wow, this story is exactly the same as mine... Ahaha.
Thanks for the great video!
this game is confusing af..
It really is lol started today been play all everning and still not to sure what the hell is going on lol. Is addicting though
It’s wank
Confusing but looks kool lol
Next Week, Black Desert Online - Why Beginners Shouldn't play this game
get rekt
He's bipolar about this game lol.
Link is it a bad game?
Not at all if you like the type of game BDO is
apple pie you are not a fan of grinding its one of the worst games to play
Hello random RUclips comment scroller,
Most people will not see this but it's important to know that you can make your sorceress and archer characters appear as night elves from World of Warcraft (pretty neat don't you think).
Yes
Or berserker as grommash hellscream
FOR REAL? You can do Grommash?
I hope this video helps, check the description for a contents to navigate to various sections
Peon can you make your next is it worth playing with the game « Drakensang Online »
great guide! i recent came back to it also. its all about the mindest u have when playing it xD.
A lot going on in this game, reminds me of Archage, will give it a look when I am done with FFonline
pls give us content other than BDO
Great video and I can tell why you have been grinding a hellalot with that many contribution points and energy, let alone your ap/dp, level and cash gains. Love the videos @TheLazyPeon, keep up the great work man.
By far the most actually useful general guide I've seen, you pitch it just right for someone who's started playing but wants to get an overview!
I just bought this game two days ago and even most of the guides were too confusing. You really saved me here. thank you very much for the guide!
Dan198Zero story got a revamp to be more streamlined. check out out
Hh
They were thinking of making it grindy, addicting and as much gambling as possible so people spend real money.
Quiting and un installing at lol 51. No real money spent. Lol it is a chore.
This is the first time I've seen anything beyond 1080p in a youtube video. Kudos to you man, 4k was fucking brilliant
I'm just as lost now as I was before...Only cost me $10 - Beautiful graphics tho
It is beautiful was blown away when I started playing looks like alot of effort has went into the making of this game.
Crown & Coke free
Hahahahahaha
"A circle with two lines coming out of the top" Uh... you mean a medal? The contribution icon is a medal on a ribbon
Great content without any useless bullshit.
I've been playing BDO since it came up and this guide is one of the best I've seen so far when it comes to new players.
Way to go man!
Finally, I can now understand the basics required to enjoy this game. Thank you.
I'm only level 20, I've been playing only for a day and I already feel like not putting time into the game... I was so excited for this game, but everything is super overwhelming and I hate pvp... oh well.. ;_;
ShizukaShizuka! I think people run into these games alone and forget this is an mmo and think of this as a solo game. Find friends it’ll make it less overwhelming. There should be guilds out there and the game is a lot easier to find people than other mmos
Are you still playing?
You hot as fuq
should i buy it
@@Buggiboi13 shut the hell up loser.
Goodluck.
What does rng stand for? :3
Random Number Generator.
I was really thinking into getting in BDO, but man, after watching this video, I definitely know this is not my type of MMORPG
What? You don't want to log in every four hours to keep your workers fed and moving? LOL
Omg I didn’t know what I was getting into with this game I just happen to love MMO rpg thank u so much to summing it all down to the basic
Got this game cause i liked the character customization but there only like 5 options for clothes the rest u gotta buy and theyre expensive
I just started the game a few days ago. This guide helped so much!
What a breath of fresh air. I spent hours trying to find a good place to learn this game. this was very very nicely done ty so much.
this beginner's guide still overwhelmed me around the ten minutes mark. decided to just keep on questing and figure it all out by myself as things come along.
This game looks like a massive amount of effort for just a very run of the mill experience.
sums it up, combat is boring also.
Michael M tf you on about, combat is the best part
@@Michael-Madrid tf you mean this game legit had the best combat system of any mmorpg EVER.
@@simonwarren8856 what he means is there is no danger i think. You are a GOD and the mobs never even hurt me once the entire time i played up to lvl 56 then i removed it cause he is right, the combat is boring.
Got to say Peon... This is a really good guide for new players!
We need another begeinners guide for 2019!
hala
This is actually the best bdo guide I've ever seen 😻 thank you very much!
You made it very simple and easy to understand
I've been watching your BD videos and you actually sold me the game. Now I bought game, it's on my download list and when its done I Will watch tos video again. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Omg an actual helpful guide! I'm on console so there some differences but this is still very helpful!
I just started a week ago on Xbox. My GT is “IVRAMRODXX “ if ya ever wanna play lol
@@badplayergoodgame7310 Ok sure 😊
Yea just started couple days on console. Still doing main story 80%time confusing lol.
Black Mamba I’ve noticed that it gets so much less confusing every day I play.
Yea. I've learned alot, just take time.
Damn dude you got me hooked on this, and I haven't even finished downloading the game yet...
very informative and straight forward without painful uhs and ums and wtf was i sayings. straight good info :)
i remember getting the game when it was released in my region (SEA).
but although I somewhat understood the combat system, and did quests for the heck of it, i did not understand the game at all.
27:08 what actually happen in BDO
I don't get why people are still talking about how pay to win BDO is...
You can only get ~24 million from selling a costume at the marketplace (which are 30€ each) AND you are restricted to 5 pearl items per week. So basically 120 million. Which is not even enough to buy the best weapons in the marketplace, which go for 300 mill + (from what i've seen anways, probably even more).
And its pretty easy to get money, i returned and for some reason i got like 100 mil free.
The best weapon will cost you about 1 billion. So yeah, will still take you weeks to get if you try to be p2w.
best wep 1b lol
Because it is p2w. People are going to complain about p2w in a p2w game, why is that surprising?
TET Kzarka is 1b. I'm sure it depends on which scenario which weapon you get but looking AP wise then it is the best weapon. If I'm wrong please correct me.
please add subtitles, so this guide can be better understood. especially for people who have not mastered English
Thank you.
Incredible video. Started the game and got really lost in everything. I think this has helped me a ton to start the game without loosing my mind.
Pay to Win.
Warframe is pre-school compared to BDO which is like going to college for brain surgery but you're also blind and deaf.
great Guide, unforntunaly i cant continue BDO due to my graphic card and it makes it that i dont enjoy the game because of lag :(
More importantly is you`r CPU if you don't have a good CPU don't buy this game.
I love this game but holy fuck man this is harder than math
Thanks for this guide. I finally understand how nodes and workers work. Other guides start rambling about fine tuning stats and I don't even know what else. This was very easy to follow.
I was so hyped for this game, on the forums everyday months before the game released(ended up with 300+ posts before launch), Got into the game (finally) after the beta"s where i was just messing around, and froze up. Complete sensory overload, ended up getting my Wizard and Warrior to lvl 21 (both) and just lost all interest. I have only started playing again in the last few days and this video helped A LOT. thanks.
i dont even play bdo and i am not even getting it not yet anyways but i still watched the video cause peon came back!
Man waiting a whole week for a video and get this.
BDO is great...
Yeah cause having to play on RU servers, because my country is banned from EU servers despite being an European country is great right?
taavidude living in a mini russia shit hole?
No, I don't live in Russia.
One salty fck less on EU servers. Im ok with that.
Could you at some point make a pvp-video about BDO ? Huge scale PVP, how to do it and so on.
Seikkailumieli Here's a run down. 60% gear, 30% class 10% skill.
I need this so badly
Although English is not my mother tongue but I find out this video is really helpful for me as a new player it’s really easy to understand very clear! Thank you so much make this great video to guide me! Love your work! Thank you!
Bought this game drunk one night on Steam when it was on sale for $5, starting it today with my boyfriend and this guide was incredibly helpful, great job!
Watching this for the console coming today so I understand
Sky Mage lol a few months ago they added a model for young wizards so wizards look 18-26
KA0S Ok, i will check it out ty for telling me
Sky Mage wow, show some respeK for the elders ;P
COULD YOU PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL FOR THE CONSILE COMING TO PS4 VERSION OR JUST CONSOLE
I love the complexity and unique innovations and features as well as the UI and afk mechanics. The overwhelming amount of content and mechanics makes it seem like real life love it
Nice guide man. I'm brand new to Black desert and ive been feeling overwhelmed as you said. This helped a lot. Thanks :)
Great video for the xbox beta too. Shared to the group.
I love how there is cats attacking a dragon

How'd it go?? When is it coming?? Both consoles??
Ive been waiting for years. Even subbed to their channel but got fed up window shopping. Always hated window shopping 😝😡
returning player man, this helped alot with beginner knowledge coming back i didnt play much when the game first came out and stopped around lvl 31 tamer. now rerolled as DK and really enjoying the game more this time around and this was a nice info resource on where to help make money etc and focus for later on. thanks again man
im downloading the game right now. and wathcing your videos all the time its so good to listen u. thx man. it was very helpful.
today I tried out bdo hit level 15 and made 1.6m silver not half bad start xD
Dude, I respect you for this...thanks a lot!
The monetary values are hilarious. How does your character manage to carry around 1 billion coins?
Theres magic in the game, so maybe he has a magic coin purse like the briefcase from fantastic beasts lol
You don't carry it around. You put it in a bank. For exactly the reason you stated, the character won't manage it.
I hear exchanging the silver coins for gold bars lightens the load.
Thanks bro, I bought this the other day got to level 20 but spent so many hours trying to work things out and I'm beastly with WoW and FFXIV yet found it really challenging because this game is so different but I really like it so far. Your video helped a lot. :)
Great job man. This is by far the most helpful guide I've watched. Been playing this game for more than a year now. And I couldn't agree more on the points you've discussed about money making. ESPECIALLY ON MONEY MAKING! I wish this vid was already available when i started. Kudos!
Im about to buy a this game BUT i have one crusial question. Does this game has free expansions???
Ozzy no
Yes, all expansions are free. You just buy the game once :)
You buy the game once, everything afterwards is free ... aside from the cash shop ofc, which is optional.
yes
yes alot of updates are comming in the next months and they will be free
I gave up it was to overwhelming.
Joking? This is an extremely simple game.
Simple game, lul
bdo is one of the most hard to learn mmo's out there... it explains nothing properly and the ui is a huge fucking mess.
There's alot of things to learn but once you do, they become quite dull and feels like more of a chore than a fun thing to do. I like 3 things in this game - Combat, Graphics and the Classes.. nothing else.. U might think that you can just play those aspects of the game, make alts and do alot of combat.. nope
PeteMeep now this I can agree with.
BEWARE.This comment section is full of aids.Caution is adviced.
ChuckVirus yup even you're comment have aids
"Yup, even you are a comment. Have aids!" That 's what you meant right?
*advised
+Sparta both words work there actually
I just started playing two days ago, and this guide helped me out so much. The little tidbits you offer like about the UI and questing/grinding really helped. I rewatched again today and will be trying to tackle starting up the worker empire. Thanks!
I watched tons of guides but yours is the best ever :D A good 30 minutes spent here :)
I finally understood the basics of things to do :)
