*Notes* : I think pink is a beautiful color on the main Cures , just not on the mid season ones lol. About *Cure Milky* : She is green to me, but I meant that in some scenes she looks too blue. And I know many mentioned that Cure Sunny is the only orange, but I believe orange is not in dire need of representation because many yellow Cures have orange hair/look orange already
@@notcreative628 Yeah, she is a red cure, just because her outfit is more orange doesn't mean anything, she is still a red cure.. Besides Cure Black is a Pink cure and her outfit has more black then pink in it. She just has a bit of pink highlights.
I watched the Netflix Pretty Cure but it was called Glitter Force. So I didn't witness Cure March. I got Glitter Spring. I WISH her name was Cure Spring because it is cooler to me.
What about Pikario? He deserved to be the true Green of KiraKira. F*** Cure Parfait, Long live Cure Comb! (My idea of his name instead of Cure Waffle) that or white at least
Green is on the cooler spectrum of colour wheel and is also a secondary colour, its more of a mechandising thing or selling point for creators warm colours like pink, ornage, yellow are dominating and calls for attention so they catches the eyes more than cool colours thats why usually main characters always have like red, orange, yellow color scheme. Colours like white, grey and black are called colour value they are kind of a spectrum on their own hence those colours are added with other colours to give a certain image to the product or in these case a character. So its not the green colour or the character is just product placement lol in the end
So don’t kill me, but in defense of the creators of the Precure franchise, as someone who draws and creates lots of characters, it is rather hard to work with green as a color due to the fact that many shades aren’t the most appealing.
@@ScienceProject99 also pink is way more atractive to girls... rememebring when I was a lil girl growing up i never disliked green or anything... it was more of a "meh" color, like... there is pink! purple!, yellow and orange YELLING for attention... and thent ehre is the peaceful green, why does this not repeat with blue? welp... humans tends to like blue in general... is a calming color that reminds of the sea, and the sound of the sea reminds instictively to when you were a fetus in you mommy's belly... (this is a really HUGE simplification of why blue thends to be liked overall btu goes kind alike that) while green.. is there, actually human eye evolved specializing in percieving green, our range of color vision is mostly in green so maybe we are so used to see green that most of people let it slide as something in the bg... maybe a way to get kids liking green is using a more lime green, like something really birght and cheerful, using the energy of yellow to grab the attention of the lil girls.
@@theoziggy2071 the shades they used is basically a bright neon green that doesn't mesh well with any other color. Cooler, darker greens tend to be better but rarely ever used.
I think this has more to do with cultural stuff from Japan. If you watch lots of magical girl animes you will realize there's very little green themed girls! In Doremi, in Madoka Magica, there's none. One of the few exceptions is Sailor Jupiter. I think this has to do with the fact that until extremely recently, green and blue were seen as the same color in Japan. What's more, the word for green, "midori" is still considered by many people as a shade of blue. So for them , it's not that there are not green characters, it's just that they would be as redundant as if we made a cyan and a navy blue character.
Dev Lilo There was another white one that debuted in one of the movies but I forgot her name and which movie it was. And cure rhythm is a white cure aswell
I would be up for more green cures~ Cure Milky to me is a green cure already though (and the precure mobile game also considers her as a green precure)
@@Someone-zn4dh well, since we saw Cosmo's design so that's why she look so blue than Milky who can trick everyone when can't tell which green or blue.
@@joshhca6403 exactly, since Cosmo come out, Milky cannot part of Blue team because blue team can't have two cures (part of main team) who has similiar color.. so that's why put her in green team instead.
Re: Cure Milky, that's a color that western audiences would definitely register as teal/blue, but for Japan, that color is often considered green. For instance, Hatsune Miku is often identified as "the green Vocaloid" and the "green" lights in Japan are also this bluish color. The root of this is that the four oldest words for colors in the Japanese language are red, black, white, and blue- and the word for blue also included the color we perceive as green. There are obviously a full spectrum of color words in Japanese today, but sometimes "ao," blue, is even still applied to things that a westerner would clearly consider green, like the green spring onion, aonegi (lol, Miku's famous prop is even a leek, which is similar to a green onion). So from the standpoint of the designers, I'd say Milky is probably supposed to take the green slot. Still, it'd be cool if there were more pure green Precures, for sure.
"green isn't a girl's colour" .....this pisses me off so much, and so not true. I loved Cure Mint when I watched it as a little girl in Japan, but she was never my favourite Cure because I liked Cure Aqua's design soooo much better as well as her personality, even though Cure Mint was still my second... (so I coloured Aqua in green in my picture book instead!) But it's largely due to today's effectiveness of marketing, I think. The way people market toys to kids nowadays has really locked in place the "girl's" colours and the "boy's" colours as pinks, purples, pastels verses dark blues, reds, greens. All this was give me an aversion to the colour pink for years (I don't mind it so much, but I used to hate having anything pink), and I feel like it causes boys and men to edge away from to dislike pink for the sole reason that its a "girly colour", when colour is objectively neither girly or boyish! And whenever we'd get matching things, my sisters who'd "taken" blue, then pink/purple as their colours would have their colour and I'd have whatever was the third colour in that particular set, grey/black/white, yellow (I usually settled for yellow), orange, red, and hardly ever green! And on that rare occasion when it's this sickly bright fluoro green or other, and not a colour that I like! (I know this makes me sound childish, what I'm saying, but I'll remind you, I was a child then.) Finding an alright green colour takes a 34 set of pencils in the form of turquoise, and my favourite, a 128 pack at least unless I'm really, really lucky. My favourite green is either a dark, saturated, foresty green, or a muted grey-green, then a blue-ish green turquoise, and though the turquoise is less rare, I've never met anyone whose favourite is close to mine, let alone many who chose green! ...okay I ranted a little. Okay.
From an artistic standpoint, green is typically seen as a more masculine or gender neutral color, as opposed to pink which is blazingly feminine. And it's just not something easily marketable to the target audience. And as you said, the strictly green Cures we did get had rather.... "Creative" hairstyles that probably did not work well in the long run. So here's hoping that we get a good green Cure next year
Destiny Acedo Which is weird because originally pink was for a little boys and blue was for little girls back in times like the Victorian era. When did pink become a girl color?
If they use a short hairstyle, straight maybe(not the crazy hairstyles they used that really don't go well in that design with the color green) and make the hair a darker green and make the character have maybe a lighter green eyes and accent it with something to make the design really pop(as you said green tends to be a neutral tone so to make it pop you need something that says "look at me" to make it pop. Doesn't need to be big but does need to be there for green to shine as a main coloring in both hair etc and her outfit as well. Worked well with sailor pluto... Just saying. Even with longer hair. But then her design made it pop by contrasting her eyes etc.
@@LuigiTheMetal64 Yeah it would of made more sense if there was a purple cure who was a villain (kinda like in the past seasons) and named her Cure Pollution.
I think for green they should have it be a lighter green than they usually use. Like celebi/chikorita green instead of the emerald or harsh lime. Green isn't ugly, but just look at the perfection that is Lala. A brighter seafoam or mint could really make a softer and cuter green imho.
lime green can look elegant sometimes, such as with Mew Lettuce, Tellu from sailor moon, or the main girl from Code Gease lol. So I think it's more about hairstyles and outfits. As for Lala, she definitely looks more on the blue side.. lol
That's so funny, never noticed that.. Doremi also never had a green character, I think. But many older magical girl Anime like Mermaid Melody, Wedding Peach etc. had green characters and they were quite popular I believe. Especially like you mentioned with Sailor Moon, Neptune was many people's favourite (including mine) and there's also Sailor Pluto. Also Green in character designs can be done right, characters like Ranka Lee (Macross) or Gumi (Vocaloid) are extremely popular, aren't they? Edit: Oh and btw I forgot to mention things like Powerpuff Girls, not actually Japanese, but Buttercup was super badass and popular!
Yes I love MMPPP!! Rina spoiled me in terms of green magical girls. She was treated like the coolest senpai ever and didn't need to constantly wear cute things to know she was a feminine beauty! I saw above others commented that in Japan blue/green are considered the same color. It immediately made me think of how MMPPP uses THREE blue/green magical girls with Hanon, Rina, and Noelle!
Green Cures are absolutely amazing and adorable! They’re all SO underrated, they are all so spunky and cute. GOD I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH PROTECT THESE GREEN SUGAR BABIES.
Actually Pokémon has an interesting fact that actually extends to other anime that could put Parfait and Milky's Color placements in a better perspective. To quote bulbapedia "One example is Bronzong, who, while considered by some to be predominantly blue, is placed in the green group; this particular case may be attributable to the ambiguity between "green" and "blue" in the Japanese language." This could mean that colors like Teal, like Bronzong, Turquoise like Parfait's dress, and Cyan/Mint like Milky are often seen by those in japan as variants of green, They might get the wrong color in their head when they are asked to make a green cure out of the blue and go with more teal/turquoise options to help differentiate them from the blues, or that its purely based off of the individual's perspectives which could explain why they are grouped in the greens despite others associating them more with blue. If the second is true then they probably were indeed meant to have more prominent green features but the artists heard "cyan" "teal" or "turquoise". We cant exactly judge unless we look at the situation from both sides
SevenEquals OneHeart this is also not just a problem in Japanese. There are a ton of colors in English but in many other languages(especially depending on how old they are and how complex they are) they can go to as little as having somewhere around 3 actual color words(such as red) so in languages like that they tend to do what you were talking about where they just associate it to the closest color that they have a word for. Japanese specifically has the same word for green and blue originally(if I remember correctly) so it can get confusing in translation.
@@lag3904 your welcome. Though i also think we should take into account the struggles of character design. Even if they understood that the higher ups wanted a green cure, parfait and milky probably didnt look good with more green features when they were making the merchandise or in Cure Milky's Case probably looked good with darker green merch designs but not in show designs. Resulting in a bit of an epidemic wanting to promote the character in the show. So they most likely had to tweak the colors which unfortunately throws people off. Again can't judge a shows creators without stepping into their shoes. And while i have no experience....AT ALL in animation or merchandise sales i always try to be fair and unbiased when it comes to these discussions because i hope to someday make my own animated television series. Mostly magical kid varieties
@@AlyDia2 yes green and blue used to share a word i am pretty sure because blue is often used to just mean blues and greens etc. Im not japanese but when i lived in japan and learnt japanese that confused me becuase in my language, we have way more colors lmao.
I think that green is a very underrated color in magical girls. A lot of magical girls are pink or blue but never green. My favorite color is green and they almost never use it. I wish there were more green magical girls.
Honestly, I think cure felice kinda suits the pink and green aesthetic works for her. It makes her look more like a nature girl, which seems to be the aesthetic the creators went for.
i think toei isn't using green because they said they study the most popular colors among girls in the year,so they use those colors for the cures, that's why colors may repeat, green isn't really popular among girls, sure, there are girls who like it,and it's totally fine!but stadistics in japan said otherwise.
I suppose, but I still question where the stats come from and what harm does including the color do. Aesthetically, it definitely looks like something is missing from the All-Stars teams since Dream Stars
Precure not only covers as an anime series, they also sell merchandise. Precure merchandise is everywhere in Japan when new anime start. I think it might be marketing reason that kids usually like bright colours such as Pink, Blue, Red, Purple, ... Rather than Green so Toei changes the colors design of Green Cure in order to sell more merch.
@@606aichan7O7 compare to others Cure I think its not The color Green like Green March I see is in the middle between dark and bright color, its not attractive color for kids who want to buy their merch. Cure Milky is the middle of blue and green (kinda pastel color) , which is very sparkle and bright so they use that color instead putting the original green on Milky.
It really is a shame too, because I always find myself loving the green cures when they actually show up. Mint was my favourite of the team in Yes!5, I found March unique for a "tomboy" kind of character, Felice was extremely interesting and her design was gorgeous, and I even really liked the controversial Parfait, though she's definitely a turquoise rather than green. Milky is also a really sweet character and I can't wait to see more of her...though again, she's a little more turquoise. The point is, I think the writers assume that little girls dislike green. But I've loved Precure since I was nine, and even back then March was probably my favourite, since green is my favourite colour, along with pink. Just because green isn't the most traditionally "girly" colour, the designers tend to either ignore it or push it to the side, and I think that they just need to give it a chance. The thing about green is that they're all wildcards; they don't seem to follow a personality trend...and that leaves a LOT of potential.
@@betty.n5399 It's crazy how things change over time, isn't it? I love pink, I think it's super pretty, and I think anyone should be allowed to enjoy it 💕

As someone whos favourite precure series is Yes! Precure 5 (gogo) I APPRECIATE THIS VIDEO!! The green cures are always so underrated and WE NEED MORE!! I'd love to see a more blue-tinted green rather than a purple-tinted blue as a character WE HAVE SO MANY BLUE AND PURPLE GIRLS GET ORIGINAL!!
Wow. I've rarely found anyone talking about precure at all on RUclips. This was a pleasant surprise to be honest. I think it would be cool to have the main cure not be pink. We havent seen that since like waaaay back with Nagisa/Cure Black
aw thank you. Definitelly gonna make more Precure talks lol And I actually want the main to always be pink since it's the tradition and it would low key mess up the pink pattern, I simply just don't like mid season Cures having pink hair (Scarlet, Felice, Parfait, Passion, etc)
@@francisvo9570 None of those are blue though.. White, Egret, and Rhythm are white, and Magical is purple. They're all simply part of duos; it doesn't mean they are blue
Science Project 88 but my point is that it’s sorta like cure black. She’s a black cure but she’s in the pink leader group. The white cures and cure magical aren’t necessarily blue cures but they’re in the blue group.
@@francisvo9570 I see what you mean but they are never grouped with blue, they have their own colors. Cure Black is a black Cure but actually has pink portions on her outfit. You must be thinking of DX3 all stars movie when White, Egret and Rhythm were with blue. Besides, Cure Mint was in that group. She is green
I think they should add more green cures since we have so many blue and yellow cures. I don’t understand why they’re not using that color. I mean personally, I think green is a nice color because it represented the environment and economics. Also, it represents the season of Spring. I hope next year (as you said), we have a character who is interested in doing business such as finance or accounting. (I don’t think not many cures aren’t doing that career)
I'm gonna be honest, I've never watched a minute of precure in my life but this video got recommended and now I really really want to start watching it.
there definitely needs to be more green cures they should use more pastel & light greens in their designs & there needs to be more Moon cures there's like 900 Sun ones
There is Cure Selene🌙🌙but I agree they definitely need to add more moon and Green themed precures..and *stop* settling for the same thing over and over again
Although My favourite colour isn't green but I want to see more green cures and also white cures too!😟My favourite green cure is Cure Felice and Cure Milky😁
i always like characters with dark green hair especially anime boys, they look cool and mysterious and if they are the villain the hair color will fit them more in my opinion, i also like the female characters with dark green hair it makes them looks elegant
...I kind of wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the fact that the Japanese don't differentiate between green and blue as much as we do in the West. There were fewer color names originally, and blue and green were both "aoi," which basically referred to the color of grass and leaves and stuff. These days, there is "midori," but "aoi" is still used to refer to some shades of green, and... Like, I think they still use "aoi" to refer to grass (I know that's the hanzi they use in China, anyway). The lack of linguistic distinction kind of translates to real life. Studies suggest that people who have a wider color vocabulary are better at distinguishing than similar shades (this is probably one reason women are better and it than men).
that's true. Many people have mentioned that already. SImilarly it's probably in the same way how I myself view orange and yellow very similarly and don't think we need any more orange Cures.
@@GeorgeDCowley I think it also has something to do with vocabulary. Like, it's true that "ao" is used for both blue and green, but when a person says "aoi" without context, japanese tends to think of blue first instead of green. This is also true for some other asian languages.
@@otomeng5230 But they've had nearly two decades to notice this trend, and potentially defy it. Incidentally, every season featuring a green Cure also had a blue Cure.
I agree with you Why did they have to ignore the color green I really liked Felice & Parfait but they have never seem to fit with Mint and March as a green cure Cure Felice has way too little green And even if she's a flower based cure she still doesn't fell green And Parfait dose not have a single trace of green in her design While Cure Milky I'm OK cause since the fifth star twinkle cure is officially blue I can see her as a green Plus she's my newest favorite cure
Star Twinkle kinda takes a unique take on the cures' colors. Instead of the usual Pink, Blue, Yellow, Purple and Red in most series, they are aiming for a Light Pink, Cyan/Light Teal, Yellow Orange and Light Violet.
Tbh, I never had an issue with March’s hair. I’ve always liked it since day one. Ask for March herself, she’s awesome. In fact, she’s my second favorite Smile Cure. (Happy’s my favorite and one of my favorite Cures of all time). Thankfully, Green Cures seems to make a comeback with Cure Milky.
Okay, imma leave my comments, I guess. Spoiler warning for those who haven't seen all of the seasons and sorry... I am very passionate about PreCure, so... it's gonna be a lengthy one. I was actually quite surprised that people are still questioning the rare occurrence of green cures tbh. If you've noticed, the roles of the green (-ish) cures are usually more of a care-taker. Komachi's first introduction was being the daughter of a family that has a mochi store, therefore it was used as a way of bonding between her and Nattsu, which was important because he was stubborn as heck in the beginning. She was given the role of "imma take care of your needs like a (stereotypical!) mom". Same goes for Nao, but with a different focus mainly because she is the oldest out of her siblings. Whenever we saw her, she was either busy with playing soccer/being active in sports or she was busy taking care of her family. And Felice represented Mother Nature. I mean... nothing more to add there right? ;) And this is where the issue is: Toei wants to stick to formulas and roles! They always did and they will probably never stop doing that. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised that in Hugtto they ventured out introducing a gay male character pretty much directly into everybody's faces, since they love roles so so so much. And this is one part of the issue. If you've noticed, polls have revealed that in Star Twinkle, Elena is the least favorite Cure. I wouldn't say that it's because of her design or her skin color, but more-so because of what she represents. We have Cure Star who's the leader, Milky who's a literal alien, Serene whose father is very very strict with her and Elena? She always smiles and takes care of her siblings. Nothing more to that. Usually the orange/yellowish cures are much more bubbly and cute character-wise, which was taken from Elena and put on Milky, because her color is purposefully ambiguous. You've mentioned that at times Milky looks more green and then more blue. Believe it or not, it's pretty common in Japan, because blue and green are seen almost the exact same. The seaweed sheets used for Onigiri, Sushi or whatever are usually called Nori, but the full name is "Ao Nori". Ao representing the character for blue, even though to western people seaweed is actually green. Colors in Asian countries are usually seen differently. Colors we have names for are usually seen as one or the other - eg: Magenta. Asians consider it more of a red than pink. Look at Suite. They said "we will have two pink cures in the beginning". While the first two characters were pink, Rhythm had more white hues to her dress and blonde hair, making her seem more like the role of a sweet lil girl, reminding you of Honoka (Cure White), whereas Melody's colors were screaming loud, justifying the actual red-character's trait of being passionate and sportive (Sensing Cure Black vibes there!). So, here I was talking a whole lot and seemingly digressing all over the place, but my main idea in this lengthy comment is that they only seem to do green cures as a placeholder (for rainbow themes) or when it really fits - next to the 4 year theory you've mentioned-. And yes, for some odd reason, parfait is seen as a teal-ish green cure, because the PegasusXUnicorn theme would make her rainbow-colored, which is impossible to Toei's formula. The predictions that next season we'll have another green cure is pretty much 100, because next year the summer Olympics are happening in Japan and PreCure was chosen as one of the ambassadors and considering the Olympic rings, color green is represented. I guess that's all I gotta say. Thank you for starting the conversation! I thought the franchise was dead internationally, so it was really nice to see that people still care about Precure. Also, in no shape or form did I want to come across ignorant or discriminating or whatever. This post doesn't reflect my personal opinion at all. I was trying to give an idea out into the world by portraying facts about Japan and its culture.
Thanks for the analaysis! lol yes I agree that they tend to stick to character color formulas. But they did managed to make Mint, March, and Felice super different from each other, which is good, despite the constant nurturing trope. I don't see the 3 as similar at all which is good. I'd wish they would include a green Cure who isn't part of a 5-team. They did so with Felice, but I'd love to get a green haired Cure next year in a 4 team. And no problem, I figured I'd share my thoughts since very few RUclipsrs discuss Precure. I only know of MagicalCinnamon, Shoujo Kitty, AzenZone and sometimes Pixie Locks.
They're never going to forgo pink again, but it would be nice to shuffle the leader role. Each color has different personality tropes Toei attached to it, and it would be nice seeing those colors rotate through the leadership position
Partway through your video here; I'd like to share that I feel that when the team number works best for a rainbow color motif makes it very likely time for green to be included in the lineup. I'd like to support my claim with the trivia fact that March was originally supposed to purple but was changed to green in the final version.
Very interesting rant. I remember way back with Magic Knight Rayearth people were wondering why Fuu, who represented wind and colour green had yellow hair whereas red and blue knights had red and blue as their hair colour. This "green is whack" thing goes deep.. At least Naoko Takeuchi didn't diss on green.
Haha, as a little girl who was obsessed with pink, green and orange were my least favorite colors XD. They tended to be more associated as "boy colors" on tv for some reason. I appreciate those colors now of course, but I can kind of understand where Toei's coming from in the marketing department. I feel like if they pair it well, give them really good designs, and personalities then green cures can work and be added more often. I imagine refreshing, calm, and motherly characters would make very good greens (smart too of course). If they associate green with life, giving, and nature then it can come off as a very divine color and make a cure that girls would want to look up to and be supported by (an "onee-chan" green lol). That's just my two cents though, i really like character designing so this is fun to think about (^7^)
Green hair in anime is rare nowdays. Maybe that's the reason? Idk why this was recommended I only watched the first season when I was a kid -andIlovedit-
Yeah but green, especially bright, is used less and less to favor moe colors like pink and blue. Green=quiet, mysterious or silly, lighthearted character and it's getting substituted by (light) blue.
yeah mint and march are the only green cures that are actually green they have green outfit, green eyes and green hair all the aspects a real green should have cure parfait and milky dont have green eyes. cure parfait, cure milky and cure felice dont have green hair. cure milky and cure parfait dont wear green cure parfait wears rainbow and cure milky wears teal.
Nice to see people talking about precure, and nice to see it in my recommended! :) I love precure and hope it continues to spread. Your opinions on the green cures were interesting. You reminded me how great March is lol. I hope you get your green cure next year!
It’s actually so surprising how they didn’t do a red (pink) blue, yellow and green team yet. like every game i’ve played ever with 4 teams always has those colors 🩷💙💛💚
I love green too. And my favourite is cure milky. Eventhough her shade kinda minty. Still green! And her design gorgeous 💞. I hope for more green cures too💞
I've never watched Precure (dunno why this is in my recommendations) but I'm really upset there isn't any more green gals :( it's really sad they are avoiding green so much, even though green is a nice color! Especially like lime green, love that color.
I have never watched this show, idk why it’s in my recommendation but watched it to completion and upset about no green girls. As a little girl my FAVORITE color was lime green.
I agree with you, when there's no green it feels like something is missing. I love the characters designs, even if they are a bit exaggerated they bring a lot of joy. I hope to see more green and maybe other colors too😊
Splash Star is kind of unique season in terms of colors isn't it? With so few main characters, creators gave them pretty much all colors at once and I like it actually. But if I had to chose one main color for Bright I think it is something between yellow and green, because it's not typical yellow they use for cures.
Thinking about it, another issue is Cure Bright and Cure Windy don't really get counted on the list of Cures, since they're considered alternatives of Cure Bloom and Egret
And interesting explanation that I found when googling for a reason as well (taking that I haven't seen much of Pretty Cure and even to me it stood out that there were no green Cures) was that, since green is something like an extension of blue, green Cures are added only when Blue cures are just really closed-in and emotionally unavailable, making up for that. For example, while Cure Mermaid is definitely more on the quiet, studious and introverted side, she opened up much easier than Cure Aqua.
I’d love 2 c a Pretty Cure series based on the concept of the original rainbow colours, so we could have: Cure Red Cure Orange Cure Yellow Cure GREEN! Cure Blue Cure Indigo Cure Violet And there would b NO background colours sneaked in2 their outfits like pink or purple - just different shades of their designated colour, not 2 mention 1 of the few Pretty Cure seasons with no PINK Cures!!! 🤩
Glitter Force is Saban Entertainment's butchering of 'Smile! Precure' and 'DokiDoki! Precure'. For 'Smile! Precure', characters were made much more annoying, two of the Precure's Callsigns was changed (Cure Happy to Cure Lucky, and Cure March to Cure Breeze - of course they changed the Green Precure!), and heavily stereotyped the Antagonists into their Fairytale Villain roles. 'DokiDoki! Precure' got a more decent translation, but the tampering by Saban was still prevalent throughout, resulting in the Glitter Force brand being canned after that second Season. Saban's aim was to market the series solely to young girls, and used the most outdated and stereotypically segregated line of thinking when deciding their target audience's preferences. As a result, the show appealed to *absolutely no-one,* and even the improvements made for the Second Season couldn't prevent this blazing Dumpster Fire from throwing any likelihood of another English Adaption of the Precure Franchise back another 10-20 Years, _if not indefinitely..._
Dinosaurs are stereotypically a boys' thing so I feel like the chances of that are just quite low + they'd probably add pink in as a sub colour to make her a 'pink precure'
It is because she has a mix colour which it's between Blue-Green so we know see she is green but in another way can see she is teal/cyan. I don't mind more green cure with mix colours again in future.
@@onyuraee I agree! I love shades like teal, sea green, and blue-green. If there will be more of them in future seasons, let's hope they will be better written and have a nice design as they did with cure milky she has to be one of my favorite cures of this era of precure
@@onyuraee Shes also an alien! And she's an adult too technically right? On her planet, she is considered an adult. Very unique character and well written. I hope they use this color more in tropical rouge but I don't think they will sadly they released character designs for the new cures and it looks like we won't get a green-themed cure but maybe they will try to find a way to sneak in that color in a creative way

I agree, there should be more green cure than just Mint and March. For me, Parfait and Milky is more turquoise/teal. I would love to see more cures with other type of colors like black, grey, turquoise, burgundy, brown, lilac, periwinkle and so much more. Like, a same with with one being green and other being turquoise or one being purple and other being burgundy would be so cool😸 They may be in the same color family, but they are different, which would showcase more unique colors to the show😸

I totally agree with you, my favourite Cure was Cure Mint and although I haven't caught up with the newer seasons, I find Cure March's hair weird, I don't like how she looks. So maybe they should create better green characters rather than blaming the colour.
it brings back the memory of watching precure as a kid/teenager, and this is an interesting discovery that I never thought about, thank you for making the video :)

Yeah, she is a red cure, just because her outfit is more orange doesn't mean anything, she is still a red cure..

So don’t kill me, but in defense of the creators of the Precure franchise, as someone who draws and creates lots of characters, it is rather hard to work with green as a color due to the fact that many shades aren’t the most appealing.
that's a fair point, and no i will not kill you
Many greens are appealing they just aren’t as eye catching as other colours imo
I can see that. In pokemon the most unlike shiny are usually the green one because the shades are unappealing

Also Tokyo mew mew
I just realised in Madoka Magica there is none
I mean, Hitomi is in Madoka Magika ( Madoka and Sayori's buddy)
Hitomi isn't a magical girl so she doesn't count

Since there's Cure Cosmo, so... Green
@@Someone-zn4dh well, since we saw Cosmo's design so that's why she look so blue than Milky who can trick everyone when can't tell which green or blue.
Well teal color is part of the green family.
@@joshhca6403 exactly, since Cosmo come out, Milky cannot part of Blue team because blue team can't have two cures (part of main team) who has similiar color.. so that's why put her in green team instead.
@@joshhca6403 teal is actually both blue and green.
"green isn't a girl's colour"
.....this pisses me off so much, and so not true. I loved Cure Mint when I watched it as a little girl in Japan, but she was never my favourite Cure because I liked Cure Aqua's design soooo much better as well as her personality, even though Cure Mint was still my second... (so I coloured Aqua in green in my picture book instead!)
But it's largely due to today's effectiveness of marketing, I think.
(I know this makes me sound childish, what I'm saying, but I'll remind you, I was a child then.)
Finding an alright green colour takes a 34 set of pencils in the form of turquoise, and my favourite, a 128 pack at least unless I'm really, really lucky. My favourite green is either a dark, saturated, foresty green, or a muted grey-green, then a blue-ish green turquoise, and though the turquoise is less rare, I've never met anyone whose favourite is close to mine, let alone many who chose green!
...okay I ranted a little. Okay.
Yeah I love Aquas design and personality and I love Mint too

Saying green isn't a girls color is like saying pink isn't a boys color
@@hiyoritokisada594 And so is Decade
From an artistic standpoint, green is typically seen as a more masculine or gender neutral color, as opposed to pink which is blazingly feminine. And it's just not something easily marketable to the target audience.
And as you said, the strictly green Cures we did get had rather.... "Creative" hairstyles that probably did not work well in the long run.
So here's hoping that we get a good green Cure next year
Destiny Acedo Which is weird because originally pink was for a little boys and blue was for little girls back in times like the Victorian era. When did pink become a girl color?
Skitamine need a halls bro?
Skitamine also that’s messed up
Dudes look great in pink imho
is that why they made Sailor Jupiter, who was supposedly the tough one, green?

I got so hyped when there was a leak for Cure Earth. I thought we were finally going to get another green cure. It's a shame that she's purple.
ikr!
Purple does not relate to Earth in any way. That would be like making a water cure a red cure.
@@LuigiTheMetal64 Yeah it would of made more sense if there was a purple cure who was a villain (kinda like in the past seasons) and named her Cure Pollution.
The Earth has nothing to do with purple nor the wind.

As for Lala, she definitely looks more on the blue side.. lol

Powerpuff Girls is pratically an American Magical Girl Show, expect they don't need no Henshin Belts.
Yes I love MMPPP!! Rina spoiled me in terms of green magical girls. She was treated like the coolest senpai ever and didn't need to constantly wear cute things to know she was a feminine beauty! There was also Sailor Jupiter, can’t remember if it was mentioned in the video
I would argue Doremi almost had a green but unfortunately stuff happened to her which I guess shows more of Tori’s dislike of the color.
... Fuu from Magic Knight Rayearth definitely is green.

Actually Pokémon has an interesting fact that actually extends to other anime that could put Parfait and Milky's Color placements in a better perspective. To quote bulbapedia "One example is Bronzong, who, while considered by some to be predominantly blue, is placed in the green group; this particular case may be attributable to the ambiguity between "green" and "blue" in the Japanese language."
This could mean that colors like Teal, like Bronzong, Turquoise like Parfait's dress, and Cyan/Mint like Milky are often seen by those in japan as variants of green, They might get the wrong color in their head when they are asked to make a green cure out of the blue and go with more teal/turquoise options to help differentiate them from the blues, or that its purely based off of the individual's perspectives which could explain why they are grouped in the greens despite others associating them more with blue.
I'm really disappointed to see comments like this not hearted at the very least. It makes so much sense. Thank you for explaining!
So they most likely had to tweak the colors which unfortunately throws people off. i think toei isn't using green because they said they study the most popular colors among girls in the year,so they use those colors for the cures, that's why colors may repeat, green isn't really popular among girls, sure, there are girls who like it,and it's totally fine!but stadistics in japan said otherwise.
I suppose, but I still question where the stats come from and what harm does including the color do. Aesthetically, it definitely looks like something is missing from the All-Stars teams since Dream Stars
@@ScienceProject99 toei surely has someone who investigates the statistics, maybe we'll see another green cure soon, who knows.
@@mayohiyo2252 ...but isn't green also a bright colour?
@@606aichan7O7 compare to others Cure I think its not
The color Green like Green March I see is in the middle between dark and bright color, its not attractive color for kids who want to buy their merch.
Cure Milky is the middle of blue and green (kinda pastel color) , which is very sparkle and bright so they use that color instead putting the original green on Milky.
People always talk about green cures but I need more White too! White and green cures are very underrated colors for Cures!
Shammah Ikoro well I think Toei wants to reserve white for super forms most of the time
Also orange
And black
And brown
Brown,it’s underrated
Lol and in the past pink was considered masculine! 😂😂

(I don’t think not many cures aren’t doing that career)

...I kind of wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the fact that the Japanese don't differentiate between green and blue as much as we do in the West.
It doesn't explain why they always go for blue over green, though.
I agree with you
Why did they have to ignore the color green
I really liked Felice & Parfait but they have never seem to fit with
Mint and March as a green cure
Cure Felice has way too little green
And even if she's a flower based cure she still doesn't fell green
And Parfait dose not have a single trace of green in her design
While Cure Milky I'm OK cause since the fifth star twinkle cure is officially blue I can see her as a green
Plus she's my newest favorite cure
Star Twinkle kinda takes a unique take on the cures' colors.
Instead of the usual Pink, Blue, Yellow, Purple and Red in most series, they are aiming for a Light Pink, Cyan/Light Teal, Yellow Orange and Light Violet.
that's probably because they don't have green hair and the majority of their costumes AINT GREEN

I mean... nothing more to add there right? ;)
And this is where the issue is: Toei wants to stick to formulas and roles!
Infini and Waffle should meet
Unfortunately there is no green Cure in Japan
Hopefully there will be one in Tropical-Rouge Pretty Cure 🤗
WOAH
I spent over half my childhood watching glitter force and I love that you talked about this!!!!!
The most beautiful green thing i see daily is nature.....its so green
green cures have always been my favorite, I'm always down to see more !!!!
definitely 🍏🍐🥝
I just wish that a pretty cure does not have a character that’s pink. It’s annoying. I like green. It’s my favourite colour.
same! pink is beautiful on the main character but.. I hate when they add it to the mid season cures. 1 pink is enough!
Yea next precure must have a green cure. Or otherwise, I’ll scream. Lol. I’m so happy both of us like green. High five dude! 🖐🏻
I'd like to support my claim with the trivia fact that March was originally supposed to purple but was changed to green in the final version.
it’s hard for me to watch these shows like magical girl ones bc there’s
so
much
pink
Yeah I wish next year there will be a blue or green cure leader. These colors look warmer
it took me the whole video to realize this came out last year.
I live for Precure!!
same
I see you everywhere

I'm a simple woman... I Pretty Cure and I click and like 99999999999 times.
That's just my two cents though, i really like character designing so this is fun to think about (^7^)
Come to think of it, orange cures are pretty rare, too.
Green is the colour of hope as a swiss lets player said in a Zelda Skyward Sword part. Green is courage and life!
Green hair in anime is rare nowdays. Maybe that's the reason?
Idk why this was recommended I only watched the first season when I was a kid -andIlovedit-
I dunno lol フィル Deku
Yeah but green, especially bright, is used less and less to favor moe colors like pink and blue. Green=quiet, mysterious or silly, lighthearted character and it's getting substituted by (light) blue.
yeah mint and march are the only green cures that are actually green they have green outfit, green eyes and green hair all the aspects a real green should have
cure parfait and milky dont have green eyes.
cure parfait, cure milky and cure felice dont have green hair.
cure milky and cure parfait dont wear green cure parfait wears rainbow and cure milky wears teal.
Nice to see people talking about precure, and nice to see it in my recommended! :)
I love precure and hope it continues to spread. Your opinions on the green cures were interesting. You reminded me how great March is lol. I hope you get your green cure next year!
Thank you! And yes I definitely want to discuss Precure since it's not common on RUclips.
It’s actually so surprising how they didn’t do a red (pink) blue, yellow and green team yet. like every game i’ve played ever with 4 teams always has those colors 🩷💙💛💚
Saame, thats my most requested color scheme. It looks really aesthetically pleasing. 💗💙💚💛
I never knew this was such a debated topic but for some reason I’m vastly interested
lol
Yes more green characters, my favorite color is also green!
I love green too. And my favourite is cure milky. Eventhough her shade kinda minty. Still green! And her design gorgeous 💞. I hope for more green cures too💞
*GIVE US THE MINT MAGICAL GIRLS WE CRAVE*
I've never watched Precure (dunno why this is in my recommendations) but I'm really upset there isn't any more green gals :( it's really sad they are avoiding green so much, even though green is a nice color! Especially like lime green, love that color.
I just realized midoriyas name is just ... Green basically
It’s green valley
I subscribed instantly because this world needs more precure related video essays
Aw thank you lol
I wish Lala was more green
agreed. love her but just make her greener
Cure dream///🖤🖤🖤 does fandubs I’m pretty sure Cure Milky is Cyan (the first Cyan Cure). She also appears more Teal at times.
Cure Cosmo is Light Blue.
Cure March was my favorite in the whole franchise! She was such a badass!
**beautiful girl appears on screen**
SP: we did get a villain though who had green hair.
*_*D I E S*_*
I didn’t know I was angry about the lack of green Precure representation until right now, at 2 AM. I will now fight for the color Green.
I hope to see more green and maybe other colors too😊
Cure milky is ain't totally green, we can consider her, just the mix of blue and green.
Lol when I watch anime with magical girls I alwaysss look for the green character XD
Facts
*rina from mermaid melody has entered the chat*
They should make the next Green Pretty Cure hair style like Sailor Jupiter's but green!
I like that idea!
When I was in 2nd grade I think, I was REALLY into glitter force, so me and my friends started a ‘ club ‘ just between us, and I was Glitter March.
Cure Bright was green. Her hair wasn't green, but her outfit definitely was.
I think she's a similar case to Parfait. Her outfit was mainly yellow with green.
@@cctmsp13 And the Kiryuu sisters are in the same boat as Flower and Pekorin (not that it matters, since Michiru-Bright isn't green at all).
5 years later, is there a new green precure?
@@adamkovacs5883 not really
@@ScienceProject99 that's a shame
And interesting explanation that I found when googling for a reason as well (taking that I haven't seen much of Pretty Cure and even to me it stood out that there were no green Cures) was that, since green is something like an extension of blue, green Cures are added only when Blue cures are just really closed-in and emotionally unavailable, making up for that. For example, while Cure Mermaid is definitely more on the quiet, studious and introverted side, she opened up much easier than Cure Aqua.
I think Milky is green with blue as her sub color, just like Felice is green with pink as subcolor.
if in 2020 there is a green precure, I record myself singing the Dance Ganbalance
LOL
You never recorded yourself then.
SADLY I WANTED TO SEE YOU SINGING WHY PRECURE
I’d love 2 c a Pretty Cure series based on the concept of the original rainbow colours, so we could have:
Cure Red
Cure Orange
Cure Yellow
Cure GREEN!
Cure Blue
Cure Indigo
Cure Violet
And there would b NO background colours sneaked in2 their outfits like pink or purple - just different shades of their designated colour, not 2 mention 1 of the few Pretty Cure seasons with no PINK Cures!!! 🤩
HURHRR those r all the original colours of the rainbow
*me who watched this in Netflix and knows it as “glitter force”*
_Okay, America explain. I am confusion_
Precure is less cringe than glitter force.
Glitter Force is just a dub. Power Rangers is big here so why not take a stab at Precure
@@priestesslucy Specifically, a dub of seasons 9 and 10.
"cure milky is light blue"
me as an artist: "nonononon nah sir she teal or cyan"
also me: "she a green or am i colorblind"
Funny thing is, I'm making a series (magical girl like) and the main character is the GREEN on XD
I love Cure March! I need more like her 😭
who knows, if we get a dinosaur themed precure it might be the 1st time we see a precure with out pink as it'll be more to dinosaur colours
Dinosaurs are stereotypically a boys' thing so I feel like the chances of that are just quite low + they'd probably add pink in as a sub colour to make her a 'pink precure'
I've never seen this show nor have I ever searched for it but... youtube recommended this to me and I'm ready to riot with you
I freakin love CURE MARCH MY ANGEL
yes, she is my green fairy queen.
PLEASE GIVE ME ANOTHER GREEN CURE
Milky looks really green in my cellphone, but in my notebook she looks more teal/cyan..
@@AnimeBlaze-qi4jx exactly! Milky was really popular on this season because her design.
@@onyuraee Shes also an alien! And she's an adult too technically right? On her planet, she is considered an adult. Very unique character and well written.
I hope they use this color more in tropical rouge but I don't think they will sadly they released character designs for the new cures and it looks like we won't get a green-themed cure but maybe they will try to find a way to sneak in that color in a creative way
@@AnimeBlaze-qi4jx if mid-season cure is someone else other than laura. there's possible chance we will have hint in opening like other season..
Laura's case is really something new where she got too much promotion on everything unlike kururun.. basically she's more like Hugtan if she turn out not mid-season cure.
My little sister love green since she was one and it still is her favorite color
My brother LOVES cure march and he get's sad when there is no green cures.
I agree, there should be more green cure than just Mint and March. For me, Parfait and Milky is more turquoise/teal. I would love to see more cures with other type of colors like black, grey, turquoise, burgundy, brown, lilac, periwinkle and so much more. Like, a same with with one being green and other being turquoise or one being purple and other being burgundy would be so cool😸 They may be in the same color family, but they are different, which would showcase more unique colors to the show😸
when i think green in terms of magical girls, i think of
cure mint
cure march
sailor jupiter
mew lettuce
magic knight fuu
there aren't too many and it makes me sad because i love them.
Ikr! they are beautiful
Snaa
this video is what i needed at my teen years when i usrd to wonder this exact topic
I totally agree with you, my favourite Cure was Cure Mint and although I haven't caught up with the newer seasons, I find Cure March's hair weird, I don't like how she looks. So maybe they should create better green characters rather than blaming the colour.
What the heck, it's been literally 51 seconds since commenting and I've already received a heart lmao
😆
And now we have a new Cure named Lilian from Wonderful PreCure so we have 6 green Cures (3 greens and 3 turquoises/teals).
it brings back the memory of watching precure as a kid/teenager, and this is an interesting discovery that I never thought about, thank you for making the video :)
