UPDATE!!! I have been emailed by someone who WORKED on the Glitter Force music videos. For their own sake, I won't be giving any identifying information. However, I have been given the go ahead to explain a few other things! The burning questions of "who made this" and "why does it look like that" have finally been answered!
Saban (the company that dubbed Glitter Force) outsourced the music videos to Infinite Studios based in Batam, Indonesia. Looking up the studio, they actually don't have a bad track record. They've done the animation for a couple of Nickelodeon and Disney cartoons. As to why these ended up looking the way they do, there are several factors. Firstly, the work environment wasn't the best. Secondly, they were only given TWO WEEKS to complete each music video. This includes everything from animation, to effects, to rendering. Two weeks to do all that simply isn't enough. And finally, there was a lack of budget. That, along with these videos being juggled around with other projects.
So, yeah! That's what's up with the Glitter Force ending sequences!
OH MY GOD, EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOOOOW
OOHHH
OH MY GOD TWO WEEKS??.?
TWO WEEKS IS TOO SHORT OF A TIME FRAME TO DO ANYTHING GOOD
OH MY GOD I'M LATE ON THIS BUT THANK YOU
ALSO THEY ACTUALLY WEREN'T DONE IN HOUSE AT SABAN, BUT INSTEAD OUTSOURCED TO INDONESIA??? YOU KNOW WHAT, THAT KINDA MAKES FUCKING SENSE ACTUALLY LMAOOOOOO
The entire reason these revolting ending dances were made is because they wanted to market the band who sang all of the songs in Glitter Force, Blush, who dissolved 2 years after Glitter Force's release
Damn
If I were associated with Saban's piss poor attempt at localizing Pretty Cure, I also would want to disband!
Bruh
Wdym by dissolved? Do u mean died??
@@Gamingwithstarlatte no, they separated the band
"It was given basically the 4KIDS treatment."
As both a Pretty Cure and Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan, you don't know how much that validates my opinion on the similarities between the two.
It was given the Saban entertainment treatment aka the Saban was 4kids before 4kids existed.
YuGiOh had invisible guns, Glitter Force had invisible effort put into the 3D ending sequence! XD

@@lucyandco.8140 It just means the end video looks like it was made in a movie maker app by a kid 😂.
@@SSFighter1701Oooh, now I get it! 😂
Why do I find it genuinely funny the fact that after they ran out of precure endings they had to go on a low budget with poor models 💀
Also am I the only one who noticed they forgot to remove the doki doki precure logo in one of the endings?
i don't get why they couldn't just reuse the precure endings and just change the songs
Why not steal the one thing from Precure All Stars 2015? *OH WAIT THIS IS 2015-*
Why couldn't they keep the Precure endings, and just change the song and not the scenery
I give an ounce of respect for Glitter Force because a fair number of modern precure fans outside east asia have said it was their starting point given Netflix's mainstream reach, but on its own? Going to be a big no from me.
I agree. Like, where do you think my Jack Haley obsession came from? The Wizard of Oz!
I came from there too, and I honestly am kind of guilty for getting into it because of that reason, just because Glitter Force is.. less than good.
True. In fact, Glitter Force and Glitter Force Doki Doki were pretty much the reason why I got into Pretty Cure in the first place.
I found glitterforce through nexflix, i liked it
I can't believe I actually liked glitter force as a kid 💀 I'm happy I discovered smile precure
Same
I'd say give it a chance. I didn't like The Wizard of Oz the first time I watched it, but I decided to try again last May. And now I am OBSESSED with Jack Haley. I regret nothing. 😂

you liked it cuz it was made for kids
Honestly I liked glitter force before I even found out about smile precure now I hate glitter force
WHY THE HELL DID I JUST NOTICE MARCH GOES FROM MARCH TO APRIL IN THE ENGLISH DUB GAHHAHAHAHA
Yeah im pretty confused about it. Its such a tiny non important change i think they could of kept it the same
WHATS NEXT? JUNE JULY???
Honestly, I think that change was *hilarious*! They didn't keep the original meanings of their non-Cure names anyway (I imagine that's pretty hard to do when switching languages) so going from Cure March to April (and Glitter Spring) just reads like an in-joke to me and I kind of love it. Of course, the moniker Spring has basically nothing to do with Nao/April as a character or her wind-based powers. I guess spring starts in March?
I jumped here because i wanted to see someone roasting the glitter force endings and I regret nothing lol. My favorite part was at 7:47 "they just had to write a shitty giRL POweR pOP sOnG" i lost everything 😂😂

@@Acorn905its darker than it should be
@@BlossomsofCherriesliterally. How did Netflix mess up so bad when in the actual episodes her skin is light?
She played with the Sun instead 😊
I love these endings and i'm glad they made them, but i have something big to say, glitter force and smile precure aren't the same series, for each episode they change all the plot and lines of the characters, i proved it myself watching 2 episodes at the same time and it was all different
Thats saban for ya
I think they’re way worse then 4kids when it comes to being faithful to the original Japanese script
I am from Peru and I saw Glitter Force days after its premiere and the second ending "What we need" did not exist yet, it was added in the second season, this can be corroborated with the dubbing of Russia and other countries that broadcasted the series on television.
Sometimes the endings are in instrumental, I think it is a problem of the application since I listened to "All Star" in instrumental for about 3 episodes.
It was the first anime that I saw complete and I enjoyed it, when DokiDoki was released I was expecting more animations like the previous ones.
I'm from Peru as well!
Even though DDPC didn't have extra endings, You And I was still an amazing ending and kinda sounded similar to Beyond The Sky.
It was better than the second opening (in english not japanese), in my opinion ofc.
Hi, Gonzalo I like your videos!
GONZALO WSGGGGGG
Comes palomas?
Tremendo
They had ONE job:
Use the footage from Yay! Yay! Yay! for the first 20 episode credits, then for the other half you use Mankai Smile! for the credits
That's ALL they had to do and I would give them a pass!
I knew Glitter Force was a mockery of Smile Precure, but I had no idea it was THIS bad...
It’s not bad
@@PrincessAmeena-vt8rd It's worse.
@@TwilightWolf032I seriously don’t get why people hate it.. it’s aimed for children, that’s why it’s “bad” for older people. Personally, I love it and I feel smile precure I think it’s called is a little bit worse. The glitter force names are much better for me, I respect your opinion but I feel like glitter force needs better attention ):
@@XxValandRubyxX *"It's aimed for children, that's why it's "bad" for older people."*
Then explain how Smile Precure, which is also aimed at the exact same age group, does not receive complaints?
They didn't make changes to target a younger audience, like was done with One Piece and YuGiOh, for example, the targeted age bracket is the same, meaning there is no need for such changes (and the whole idea of importing anime that targets a certain demographic and altering it to target another one is baffling on its own right to begin with.)!
Glitter Force not only changes their civilian and Precure names, it also removes 8 whole episodes from the roster, including one which is often considered one of the best in this iteration - that being the episode where Yayoi finds out the meaning behind her name by knowing more about her deceased father!
Glitter Force also diverges itself from the Precure brand by calling everyone "Glitter [X]", a naming convention that was not present when Futari wa Pretty Cure aired in US 5-6 years prior and would have messed up the yearly All Stars events they took part in (every year Pretty Cure crossovers with itself in a big movie where most, if not all, Precures assemble).
What you are experience is what I have come to label as the "Electrat Conundrum". We tend to accept the localized version as the "correct" version and/or diminish its flaws because that is what we have been presented with at a young age.
The reason we call Satoshi "Ash Ketchum" to this day is because that is the name we had been presented with when we were kids. However, 4Kids did not change Pikachu's name to something like Electrat or Sparquick or something else to make it sound like an English name, as they did to Zenigame > Bulbasaur and Hitokage > Charmander. Has they done that, we wouldn't be calling Pikachu by its Japanese name, we would be calling it by its localized name.
Now here's the question - do you prefer Glitter Force because it does something better than Smile Precure, or are you trying to attribute value that it doesn't have because it was the first of the two you consumed when you were younger?
@@TwilightWolf032 for your question, I would probably go for the second one. Though, I had no idea that smile precure was aimed for the same age. I thought it was aged for older people. Because I’d say in more previous videos I’ve watched, people have said that glitter force has been aimed for younger audiences, i deeply apologise if I had got anything wrong. :)
I watched glitter force as a child so when I got into Precure I thought smile Precure Ed 2 was Ed 1
Hi! ^^
#relatable
I’ve said this a few times, but Glitter Force’s endings somehow look worse than Fresh’s first ending (the first 3D ending), I find it sad and hilarious
I've been obsessed with these kinds of videos lately and yours is pure gold
Also with the rigging of the glitter force models, as someone who has been learning cgi for 7 years now, they didn't even rig the hair pieces together to provide better physics, and its so easy if you take the time to learn it

I know right!! So many baffling decisions were made to create these that I just...don't understand.
Also thank you~
Does it make you want to scream too?
@@SillyCreatureSally YES 😭
@@swinginginthebreeze Well, March is one of only three (three!) green cures, so yes, I feel a bit bad for her :(
@@SillyCreatureSally I wish she was given more attention in the show. I know toei avoids green because it's hard to sell, but I wish saban did more with her because glitter force's audience is of an older age than precure's, so green wouldnt be as much of a problem. i love march 😭
You know I wonder if Saban even tried to make an attempt to have Toei give them the proper models, or if they thought for some reason that this was a cheaper rout, but hey at lest Glitter Force didn't make it past DokiDoki.
Too bad they made it to Doki Doki and trimmed it to 30 episodes.
Saban Moon
Imagine this is the reason old Precure stuff isn't getting subbed, like how Saban fucked up Masked Rider so heavily, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai weren't officially subbed till the late 2010s
The story of Glitter Force:
Saban saw Smile Precure and they liked it a lot but it was Japanese and western kids didn't know Japanese. They wanted to put Smile Precure on Netflix in 2015 so they made a dub and was renamed Glitter Force. The original had so many emotional scenes. Saban edited and dubbed it because with emotional scenes, kids would go crying. In 2016 later when Saban finished making Glitter Force, they added it to Netflix kids. Smile Precure had 2 endings but Glitter Force had 8 extra. The 8 extra were made in MMD. Some people later on in America found a Japanese song with the same characters from Glitter Force. And guess what? It was the original! We would't have found the Japanese smile Precure if we didn't't watch glitter force!
So yeah! That was the story!
So basically, another example of a company Americanizing an anime on the stupid logic that "kids cannot understand Japanese culture along with editing the anime to remove moments too violent or scary for them".
As for the extra dance endings, I bet they ended up being bad because they were rush jobs done in order to meet a deadline and were also made on a low budget.
Yeah ikr
That was the case with me lol I wish I didn't discover Glitter Force as a dumb kid

This essay was so beautifully passionate XD Also, the endings are apparently so bad I don't even recall Any Of These despite Glitter Force being my introduction to Precure- and I'm usually able to effortlessly sing along to music from anime, even when I haven't watched the show since way back... yikes...
Hahaha, the slow slide into madness is very fitting! And I agree, I actually quite liked the main Glitter Force theme. Just because I didn't love it as much the original, didn't mean the dubbed one was bad. But they sure made some other...decisions...for this show that I don't agree with.
A slow slide into madness is a perfect description of my videos.

This isn’t even a 4kids dub anymore, this is the sailor moon dic dub for precure lol. Like it wouldn’t even surprise me if they changes all the voice actors half way through. And speaking of, how the hell did they convince such icons in the va industry to play in this hot garbage? Like, Kate Higgins?! Debi Deryrberry?! I will never understand
Idk
What’s funny is how Kate higgins and Debi derryberry were both in the viz dub of sailor moon
When I saw Netflix having it there, I thought "ah... i'm scared to give this a shot" and now I have more reason to skip credits if I ever bite the bullet and watch,,, I seriously hope they don't touch another series or I will riot
it was Saban that handled the dubbing; they've since gone bankrupt.
These endings look like something RUclips Kids would make
Bruh it really does

Nah Cocomelon looks better than those eds 😭
Another problem I had as a kid while Glitter Force was that vignette that was shown everytime there was an attack/transformation sequence.
@JaylaProductions2K10Yeah, they did it to prevent epileptic seizures. But seriously, I don’t understand why they just don’t put an epilepsy warning in the description of the show. Like actually why would someone that has epilepsy try and watch a show called “Glitter Force” that has a VERY bright cover?

As some one who actually kinda likes Glitter Force ( I know, I know, the original is probably better, but my dyslexia make watching subs really freaking hard) no matter how much fondness I have for the show I HATE these ending sequences. The just feel so wrong and the fucking FACES. I hate it so goddamn much. I've seen 12 year olds rig better models.
In my opinion the original *is* better. But I can imagine that watching a 48-episode show, while relying completely on subtitles, is too much for someone with dyslexia. This is why good dubs are important!
I loved this show as a kid, but then there was the ending sequences… 💀
The fact you bring Mikumikudance was a thing I didn't thought about, and the fact you said it was an insult is really Nice since I played this the program whit effects and some peoples make really cool things better than these endings
I think the main reason why they didn’t play the credits during the dances was so that people weren’t inclined to skip them.

“YOU CAN SEE. THE BACKGROUND!! 😡😡😡😡😡”
I was a precure fan before glitter force but it was my only way as a child to experience it. I will thank it for being this gateway to precure for western fans. But it does make me cringe and hate that people know these characters as "glitter lucky" and not "Cure Happy".
As i finally found a way to watch ALL precure series. Watching smile precure was amazing, being one of my favorites. I really loved the japanese drama episode, and the one with the foreign exchange student, and the fact that Akane had an Osakan accent was so charming. These were completely gone in glitter force which is a huge waste!
The voice actors was genuinely good, Todd Haberkorn playing Pop aka the voice actor for Natsu Dragneel and Death the kid. Kate Higgins playing Chloe/Reika aka Frankie Stein, and Pauline. Keith Silverstien playing Wolfrun, Akaoni, and Joker (i didnt know he played all 3) aka Hawkmoth, Zhongli, and Hisoka (lol clown man). They had amazing voice talents, just absolutely kid filtered scripts
In a nutshell. Glitterforce had the parts but died on execution. Its erasure of Japanese culture is painful, and the trimming of important episodes and moments is shameful. I also hate the whitewashed names. For glitter force doki doki they changed Alice's name to Clara which is so unnecessary
Thank u for listening to my ted talk 💗🧡💛💚💙
YES all the voice actors are SO GOOD!! Sunny's english VA was an super special treat for me because she also played Wasp in Avengers: EMH which was a fav cartoon of mine growing up. I just hate that the VAs were clearly given direction to sorta "dumb down" their lines in a way.
I'm glad Glitter Force introduced Precure to new people, but I also wish we could just have a proper dub of it some day ;0;
Netflix' Amatuer Ending Dance kinda turns Precure Endings into a Meme.
Glitter Force was just a thing that happened because I think Saban forgot how to do English dubs after Digimon because Power Rangers was still an ongoing thing at the time so they likely just adapted Precure but half assed the effort for making an adaptation
I think the dub is great, like the voice acting, pretty solid, but they just ruined it by changing all of the names and shit like this.
Absolutely! The actors are all super amazing and I love basically all the other stuff they're in. It's just the script and direction that just kills any chance of it being good.
