Eh, it makes sense when you think about it. Generally, you'd like to camouflage your gear or make it usable for more than just transforming (communicating, research, etc.)

    • @CooperGal24
      @CooperGal24 2 месяца назад

PreCure had two seasons where the tablets and cellphones were used as transformation items:
Hugtto PreCure and Doki Doki PreCure.
I’m not counting the phone from the Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo season, because that was more of a flip phone and not the cellphone we have today.
I get your point about the tablets and phones as transformation items, but as long as they’re well designed and fits with a certain theme of the anime series, then it’s doable.
I think one of the live action magical girl series had a video game theme, with the transformation items being based on handheld video games, like Nintendo 3DS, Gameboys and more.
Honestly, I’m waiting for the day that a magical girl anime series is made with a video game theme, or one with an artists/cartoonists theme or whatever.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to magical girl anime.

Depends tbh. Just because you see a lot of adults complain doesn't mean like 90% of the sales are from children who aren't going to keep it for a long time. Maybe they could invest in higher quality collector versions though but that'd be a financial risk too.

if an old toy is sticky, it’s likely that the plasticizer is leaking. if you’re up to it, washing it off every time it gets sticky should help, but as far as i know there is no way to permanently fix this. this can spread to other toys though, so it’s best practice to keep sticky toys like this away from other toys so their plasticizer doesn’t leak. feel free to do your own research as there is lots of information about plasticizer on the internet!!

And my god, I see what you mean about the Motto transformation, it's fun and poppy, but the Sharp transformation is too good to me. Motto has the best outfits (though I still love the sharp outfits, less so the magical stage version of them), the best wand design, and the best store (first one being in second in my opinion) but that Sharp transformation is everything to me.
The clacking of what I've always associated with the castanholas as they hit and transform is nothing short of amazing and iconic.

I understand that small removable parts are troublesome in terms of collecting older items, but those have always been the main appeal for me when it comes to these things. The rhythm tap and Hana's compact having those little removable seeds is SUCH a big allure for me. I've almost gotten other versions of those toys before, but because I couldn't tell if those bits were removable I didn't wanna risk it. Since like, that's kind of the entire magic for me personally.

I've seen toy/electronics restorers reduce or even sometimes remove yellowing entirely on older products by putting some sort of cream on them and leaving them under a UV light (or sometimes just putting them outside if they live in a sunny enough area). I'm not sure how well that works with that specific kind of pink plastic but it might be worth looking into for the ones that are aging worse?
I've been meaning to watch this show since I was a little kid and bought a box of pencils with the characters on the at a garage sale, didn't know who they were for years but the pencils were so pretty and the characters were so cute I'd just space out looking at them. An entire video of Doremi toys I have always saw but never could buy or afford? Sign me up! Legit firstly I must say I envy anyone who had toys of this show. They look so cool and I know as a kid I would have loved to get anything from the show even if anything I bought then would be Magical Doremi items (But legit my nostalgia and love for it is so strong I wouldn't be against it). So seeing what has happened to these over the years is absolutely tragic! Still it's nice to see some in good condition. For me I would really like to see if I could ever find a season 1 styled wand preferably Doremi's one since it's legit my favorite magical girl wand.
Also if I may, thank you for just continuing to spread the word of watching Ojamajo Doremi. It's legit a show with such a special place in my heart, which while Pretty Cure might've overtaken by now in terms of rankings (I still love Doremi with a passion though!), it's a show I wish more talked about. Heck just hearing your mention elements of the wizard subplot (MY PERSONAL FAVORITE STORYLINE) and the Former Witch Queen Subplot (The best storyline) made me have a huge smile on my face! So thank you very much! :)

So the actual bottle filled with cheap perfume is in the middle, and then make a sandwich of lights and glitter in the front and electronics behind (i hope this makes sense lol I'm not a technician or something)
When the perfume runs out, kids could've just replace it with whatever liquid (another perfume or just water)

I remember getting a little Doremi doll as a kid and on its package was like commercial for the transformation tap. And I was so exited about it and really wanted to have it until my Mama told me in all honesty: 'But you won't be able to transform with it, sweety.' after that I wasn't interested in it anymore.😅

It needs just one drop of awd 40; that’s so crazy that you mention people telling you to oil it as I type

Jokes on you, this is activating me like a sleeper agent from watching Doremi season 1-2. And then comes the salt because we never got the rest.

Awesome video!! I lost one of the beads for the first wand too, but thankfully child me was smart and took good care of it besides that 😅

I wonder if one could retrobrite some of the more yellowed plastics without damaging anything else. I guess it might depend on if any particular toy was capable of being taken apart and reassembled...

This is absolutely not my type of content but it was recommended so i put it on for my bedtime routine. and your editing and personality and writing was so good that I watched the whole thing. It even made me have some realizations about my childhood.
    Oddly needed. Thank you.

I’m amazed I’ve never found your channel. My FAVORITE magical girl anime is Ojamajo Doremi and it’s so nice to finde someone with the same love and respect of the genre. And I also enjoyed your analysis of the designs.

I loved this show and suggested the Name sophie for my Little sister because of it. It is very sad, that all of the items are so darn expensive.

Unless anybody wants to pay extra cash to have their beloved magical girl toys restored to the "New" look, it's either that or commission someone to make or repaint the parts from scratch. (I dunno about the clear parts, unless they're really good at cutting clear plastic parts into the desired parts one wants.)
There are ways to fix the cloudiness on clear plastics, but on toys, apparently the vinegar and water technique is said to work. I've only looked it up, but anybody that works with clear plastic for crafts, restorations and anything else, please let me know if this is plausible or not, thanks!
But if you don't want the sound/music mechanics or lights of the toy, crafting one from materials like air dry clay or polymer clay would be an ideal choice. If I had the time and materials, I'd just make a DYI craft of said magical items, just for fun and display.

ahhh the items are so cute! it's unfortunate that not all can hold up over time. I enjoy collecting a lot of the toys from kamen rider, but recent seasons I feel have focused more on the toy aspect to the point where the show focuses wayyyy too much on it.
One of the things I liked about some older shows was the fact that they would give time to introduce new items and for the characters to actually use them before introducing something else so you could actually get familiar with it.

OMG 懐かしい! I had the peperuto poron, jewelry poron and koron tappu when it first came out! I forgot when, 2000-2001 or something?? I was around 7-8 at that time. I was a huge doremi and sailormoon fan(never owned a sailormoon wand tho). My favorite was the jewelry poron, I could play with that for hours! I could still hear the melody in my head. I still have the jewelry poron and koron tappu somewhere in storage. btw, new subscriber from Japan 🇯🇵

I wish that those original toys wand exist in my country when it was aired in the dubbed version years ago but it didn't... so now since I am an adult with adult money, like you said, I make questionable buying decision 😭😭 cause I look at those vintage one and think I should buy them for my inner child self but THE PRICES nearly gave me a heart attack 💔

The video I didn't know I wanted but am so pleased exists now!! This was such an interesting topic, and I love Ojamajo Doremi and its magical items. The rhythm tap are my favourite transformation item too, I love everything about it and it feels like such a natural evolution of the apprentice tap. I think Sharp overall has my favourite magical items, though the phone toy is very forgettable to me. The cologne tap though.... special place in my heart because how beautiful it is, love it so much. I did NOT know it was a real perfume bottle though, my goodness.
