  • The famous shipwreck that brought us the mysterious Antikythera mechanism has revealed a new secret: a two-thousand-year-old human skeleton. The team hopes to extract DNA from the skull - a feat never attempted before on bones this old that have been underwater.

      It's 45 meter's, from the Wiki page....
      "Around Easter 1900, Captain Dimitrios Kondos and his crew of sponge divers from Syme sailed through the Aegean en route to fishiing grounds off North Africa. They stopped at the Greek island of Antikythera to wait for favorable winds. During the layover, they began diving off the island's coast wearing the standard diving dresses - canvas suits and copper helmets - of the time.
      Diver Elias Stadiatis descended to 45 meters depth, then quickly signaled to be pulled to the surface. He described a seafloor horror show: a heap of rotting corpses and horses strewn among the rocks. Thinking the diver was drunk from the nitrogen in his breathing mix at that depth, Kondos himself donned the diving gear, and soon returned to the surface with the arm of a bronze statue.

    If there’s no remains at all in titanic from 110 years ago and being 1500 bodies I wouldn’t say it’s real at all.

    • @goggles9891
      @goggles9891 2 года назад +1

      There are many differences in these wrecks. Firstly as stated, the Antikythera wreck was only 50m deep. It would have been a much smaller vessel made from wood, and the heat of the water would have been greater than the Titanic wreck.
      The Titanic was over 4km deep, in freezing water and in the middle of the Atlantic, meaning more time for any corpses to drift in the strong currents, more predatory sea life and the area the wreck was scattered over was much greater. I don't think this is fake at all.

    • @mattfranks4086
      @mattfranks4086 Год назад

      @@goggles9891 Not to mention the ocean pressures at the depths of the Titanic would have imploded the bodies of the dead. If there were any remains to be found, they would most likely be mere fragments.
