Yes, those snares and quads are killer, but those tight ass bass rolls??? Holy hell!!!! To get 5 people to sound like one…frickin AMAZING. Wish this video would have shown a snippet of the show so you could see how these practice sessions pay off. The BD are a sick corp!!
I have attended many DCI competitions and the sound is freaking amazing. Not only the drumline but the entire band is at the same level of excellence. When the brass sections line up in front of the audience and go full sound your eardrums just takes in the volume and quality of sound that practically takes your breath away. A friend of once described DCI as “marching band on steroids”. Along with the color guard it is performance you will never forget.
They do this while marching and forming patterns on the field. DCI does a stream into Select AMC theaters. And I ALWAYS go. 2022 semifinals was AWESOME.
Have you ever seen a concert of Stomp? I’ve been to see them twice and it was so worth it! They play / make beats on anything and everything while dancing, climbing all over the set, and being funny (in mime mode, mostly)
Huge fan of DCI. We went to many as a family and we never had any kids in the competition. We just went to hear amazing music. It was fantastic. I highly recommend.
When I was in high school, the marching band took us to a DCI competition in Memphis, TN. This was in 1982, when Memphis had a drum corps. Anyway, the competition was awesome! We all wanted to join a drum corps but there wasn’t anything nearby. *Sigh*
Nick. You need to watch BD360 ‘19. It goes behind the scenes of the Blue Devils performance band, dance, colour guard. Amazing !!! If not for your channel, watch it for yourself with the family.
Yes for DCI reactions!! 🤓 This show was called Ghostlight. Here's some info on the show: bluedevils.org/programs/a-corps/seasons/index.php?programID=1&season=2019&module=info This video was warmups and a run-through of their show, obviously just the drumline. If you really want to get into DCI reactions, a perfect youtuber to reach out to is Courtney Coulston, ruclips.net/user/CourtneyCoulston. They can be difficult to find and navigate because of censoring, but she seemed to get it down. This is a favorite show among many fans, ruclips.net/video/ulLI9MtkA-s/видео.html And if you want to check out another video that is not a show, I highly reccomend Carolina Crown drops the hammer, ruclips.net/video/4eyC0B7znaU/видео.html. This was also a beautiful video done by Santa Clara Vanguard. DCI couldn't meet and compete in 2020, and 2021 was not a full season either, so they created this instead. ruclips.net/video/dKOVcUniWuc/видео.html and one more for fun ruclips.net/video/6WWmM1jpM8I/видео.html Did I throw enough info and links at you? 🤣 Sorry, I'm just a fan. Edit: Here is a video created by a former DCI marcher explaining what drum corps is for the unaware. ruclips.net/video/j53QbDBKFB0/видео.html
I was in marching band all through high school. I played clarinet so I never got the chance to participate in DCI (Drum Corp International) which is a drum and bugle corp that usually consists of brass, percussion and auxiliary. However both of my kids are percussionist and I have had the chance to watch them both perform. The shows are amazing!
Correct on the sound reflectors, but incorrect on the “school mascot”. There is no “school” involved here. This is the DCI World Champion drum corps, the Concord Blue Devils. Their drums are decorated for their 2017 show, “Ghostlight”. DCI drum corps are independent groups, assembled by audition, which produce new programs every Summer, and travel the country competing in contests, culminating in the DCI World Championships every August. They have no affiliation with any school.
You prolly already got answers here about the spooky drum finishes, but here ya go: The world champion Blue Devils (like many top DCI groups) have custom drums and drumheads made each season, usually finished in the theme of that season’s program. The Blue Devils’ 2019 production was called “Ghostlight”. So, naturally, the design staff came up with a design theme for the drums that’s got ghosties. 👻😎
i like your reaction videos.. recently i found out about you by blackpink's reaction video.. and i just subscribed your cheanell .. dude keep up the good work !!!♥ these drum lines are so cool man
You know it's a shame that at halftime they don't show these talented young people. You have to watch old football players rehash the first half. I would rather watch the band. They work so hard! Not just the drummers - the whole band.

That precision is inhuman!

These guys placed 1st (overall and in percussion) on 2019 finals night - quite the performance!
It’s all about precision, both in marching and musicianship.
I love percussion..they are really good..all they need is Adam front and center..of course his percussion is his mouth lol...thanks, Nick ☺
I ♥️ this kind of content. This is SO incredibly hard. I played percussion for 4 yrs. in our concert band. These guys are elite. Thanks Nick!

Bass singers and drummers make my heart go pitty-pat ❤
Huge fan of DCI. We went to many as a family and we never had any kids in the competition. We just went to hear amazing music. It was fantastic. I highly recommend.
Those drums are incredibly heavy.

Holy Heck, they don't even look at the drums! Wonder how long the actual competition is
Here’s their victory encore from that season.

should check out Top Secret Drum Corp
Welcome to DCI. These are the best marching groups in the world. The skill level it takes to play that stuff clean is incredibly hard.
That was super cool
Super skilled for sure. Along these lines you should check out The Ohio State Marching Band Michael Jackson Tribute.
All of the OSU marching bands performances are phenomenal - I agree!
Waat!!! Never even thought to recommend this. Hearing these in person is on my bucket list.
Makes me miss High School! Bass 4 in the house. We actually had a drum line reunion this summer. 21 years out and it’s still a huge part of my soul💜
I'm sure you would enjoy a real competition video...the shows are amazing!
The piece under the snare drum is called a Snare Drum Sound Reflector. It appears the paint job on the drum (s) is the school mascot Blue Devils

You would be correct about the duts, it’s called dutting and it is for tempo
You know it's a shame that at halftime they don't show these talented young people.

Nick you need to watch Santa Clara Vanguard 2018,that drum is hot.
Check out all that "sticking"!
You should always watch half time band then go get your hot dog and pretzel in the 3rd quarter. :)
