I imagine Clay's a super serious business man but will drop anything if his daughter needs him.
Clay's assistant comes in. "Sir you have a call."
"This is a multi million dollar deal, put them on hold."
"It's your daughter"
"Patch her through, clear my schedule"
Who got clapped tho 👁️👄👁️
Yes! Clay is a great business man, but he always puts family first!
Now what would happen if Clay and Peony met?
Clay is serious while Peony isn't, not sure what Clay's relationship is like with Lacey so no clue yet@@cyndertamarack5188
Clay being responsible for keeping Kleavor from completely going extinct along with Perrin who’s ancestor Adaman is the younger brother of Ursaluna’s warden feels so heartwarming that even after all this time their families are still tied with their pokemon.
Wyrdeer not Ursaluna.
Perrin has both Adaman and Irida's genetics
@@meeb_consumerThat is not confirmed, Perrin doesn't share any resemblances to Irida.
@@Magma-Idiot-2001ok maybe you can put it into art direction

I mean... Lacey having Blue-Green Gems in her hairclips, having an Excadrill on her team and a portion of Driftveil City being in the Costal Biome's OST. Like, we can't get anymore on-the-nose than this.
Yes we can actually. Because (spoilers?) according to datamine if you invite Nemona to the league club (which isn't possible right now because it's apparently unlocked by the upcoming epilogue) she can have a conversation with Lacey where she straight up says Clay is Lacey's father.
@@moon4236 yup she does, i go a hacker to trade me the mythical peach for the even and witnessed the dialogue on the swicth, also theres another one confirming drayden as drayton's grandpa
Prof. Cyrano: *mentions that Lacey’s father is a Unova gym leader*
Me: “Oh, cool! She doesn’t look like any of them, so I wonder who that could be-“
Lacey: *throws out Excadrill*
Me: “Ah. I see. 😅”
The species of pufferfish that Hisuian Qwilfish is based on has been fished to near-extinction in Hokkaido waters in real life but exists just fine elsewhere in the North Pacific. I imagine the story would be similar for the Qwilfish.
Clay is more based as a character than we give him credit for.
Besides having the best city theme in the entire game.
And also for the PWT@@narararamammily5386
@@narararamammily5386 and the best gym theme in bw2
Wasn't he also the one who called up all the gym leaders to fight Team Plasma
Clay deserves more praise than he’s given.
When she mentioned that her Father was a gym leader and she wanted to battled us, I immediately thought "she's gonna have an Excadrill" and I popped off so hard when I was right 😂
About the Hisuian Pokémon, I'm kind of miffed about the fact we don't see H. Braviary or H. Zoroark but I guess that does kinda make sense that we don't, they are present in their normal forms in the base game and it would be kinda weird seeing their Hisuian counterparts too.
I do feel like we could’ve seen the Braviary in the Polar Biome 🤔
Seriously suprised at the lack of Hisuian Zoroark though I guess since they're spirits they wouldn't actually be extinct in Sinnoh
@@MineNAdventurerDoesn't help that the Zorua line is already fairly rare (outside of Paldea at least) and the Hisuan stock is from a relatively small population of an already small population. If H.Zorua/H.Zoroark aren't extinct, they've probably been relegated to dedicated breeders, nature reserves and the occasional lucky trainer.
Yeah I think it kind of makes sense to not include hisuian zoroark in the terarium because that Pokemon is too dangerous to get close by whether you are human or Pokemon
@@NeroLordofChaos I mean I'd more assume that they can't die out due to being spirits tbh. I more chock it up to that Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark are just very rare in the wild normally and really hating to be encountered by humans
Especially with the lore that Clay is a "Japanese man who moved to America in search of his fortune". With Hokkaido being northern Japan and Unova being the US. It traces is all.
Thus fulfilling the cliché of Asian Cowboy.
So many gym leader dads!
There better be a father's day event in Pokemon Masters
Haha, that should happen!
If I were a betting man, I'd say they'd do it with Lacey's introduction. Or a bit after it.
@@GatorEXI feel the the rescue of Klevor was a team effect from Cythina , Roark his father Byron and Clay
There was a family day event once but yeah specific to father and mother day should happen.
Imagine Silver and Giovanni, (Wonder whom Drayden's kids are since Drayton is his grandson).
Ryme confirmed to be a grandmother herself.
(I know this is 8 months ago) THEY BETTER ADD PEONY OR ELSE I'LL RIOT.
It was fun seeing the hisuian pokemon like ursaluna and kleavor getting love in the dlc as they were one of my favorite parts of legends arceus and it's good to see them back again in the present day.
Totally they were in my legends team
I even got shiny forms of them in SV. Brought them to PLA to evolve them
No Wyrdeer though 😭
Or goodra, zoroark, braviary but it'd be asking for much@@hlewis5217
Biggest surprise of the DLC for me was rolling up to not only find Kleavor was in the terrarium, but that I'd got a full odds shiny encounter, absolute highlight of the whole experience.
I've managed to find several Shines there myself. Including one instance where I found two less than an hour apart from each other. Shiny Charm is OP.
I got a shiny Excadrill randomly in the Chragestone Cave.
Nice. I had the same luck with a random shiny trapinch.
Surprising detail going into Clays familt tree of all characters. I'm about it though
I love seeing more for gym leaders and other npcs, really makes the games feel bigger knowing they all have lives when we move on to the next game
I like to think Lacey thinks Excadrill is cute is because she likely grew up with Clay's Excadrill and has come to know some kind of soft side about the Pokemon.
and also because drilbur is cute af and any other opinion is wrong
2:01 also nemona name-drops clay went talking to lacey about her dad in the league club room if you invite her
Though that is save-edit only information for now since Nemona can’t actually be invited to the club room yet. There’s a full unreleased side quest needed before that.

I was very surprised when I saw that Kleavor just roaming around the canyon area. Ain't complaining though, it's my favourite Hisui pokemon.
With Lacey being Clay's daughter and Drayton being Drayden's grandson, it makes me curious if Crispin and Amarys are also related to any gym leaders or other important figures. I was thinking Crispin could be a cousin to Chili (fire gym leader) and the other brothers, given his passion for cooking and spice. However, he doesn't have any of the Simi Pokemon. Pretty fascinating to think, anyway.
Lenora or even Colress maybe for Amarys
Crispin ironically I feel is Elesa. His orange-red hair is actually dyed and he has blond eyebrows
And Amarys maybe Martial or Lenora
@@mysticpumpkin8520In one of Crispins dialogues in the club room he mentions his parents own a restaurant, so his parents are not known sadly.
@@jakalderIt could mean that he's Chili's son since he and his brothers own a restaurant.
@@KrissyBlues And Lacey's hometown is stated as Nimbasa, not Driftveil City. Maybe they just don't live in the same city that they're working in, like Norman from Gen 3.

there seems to be black augurite in kleavor's habitat so i dont see why we cant evolve our scythers, regardless its pretty cool to have hisui tie ins, we might see more hisui tie ins in future games, or pokemon in the past in general
I agree. It's weird that we can't get the black augurite item to evolve scyther yet it's in the habitat. I would have liked to get one even if it was a super rare item you can pick up on the ground. Good thing wild kleavors can spawn at least.
Maybe because the agurite is school property
@@luckluca8982 actually this makes sense
@@luckluca8982I mean it is in their terrarium sooo
Yeah, it's weird that it doesn't exist as an item, whether as an overworld drop that can only be found rarely in that area, or at least as something you can buy in the BB school shop.
I find it very funny how Lacey specializes in the type that sinergizes the best with ground offensively: Fairy
Also we got the confirmation the Drayster is indeed Drayden's grandson, which is.....an interesting change. The Spartan Mayor's grandson is a flirty gay Slacker that can break your kneecaps
I see it with Drayton likely being a ladies man in his youth but too focused on strength at the time. Plus see it like this, one reason Drayton is how he is could also be cause of his granddad's apprentice! Iris can be a bit of a slacker but an energetic one and she's become champion.
@@lightdarksoul2097true true. Also, if Drayden was something of a ladies man......then Drayton being flirty regardless if the player's gender is more funny
One is the super manly conservative looking mayor and the other is literally the"be gay do crime" meme incarnate😂
Yeah though I doubt Drayden is the type to complain about that, buuuut he is disappointed about Drayster being a slacker and seemingly not giving school his best shot. @@mysticpumpkin8520
I wonder what Iris and Drayton’s dynamic is like. Iris thinks of and refers to Drayden as her grandfather, despite the lack of familial tie. Since she’s likely to be a good bit older than Drayton by this point, I wonder if she sees him as a little brother and Drayton sees her as an older sister figure.
Iris is from a village right that or at least a place that is very wild seeing as she like lives in trees and keeps pokemon in her hair. I can see Drayton having seen great potential in her and maybe his own kids didn't want to run the gym so he wanted a successor. She was taken in and I can see her being a big sister figure to Drayton with him looking up to her as she is the champion of Unova at a young age and he too was a champion before being beat.@@CaptainObliviousV
I actually hope all of the BB league characters are related to the unova characters. I was hoping that Amarys is relared to Lenora since lenora believes in knowledge and Amarys seems like a bookworm but she's mostly about time and following rules. If she is related to Lenora that's a cute reference (of her friendship with Lacey)since Lenora and Clay actually work together. If you don't know what I mean, if you synced your Black and white data to BW2 you get a cutscene of Lenora, Clay, and Burgh talking about the historu of fossile and how Clay basically gives Lenora fossils to study/find info on and she records down the info and has a revitalizing machine in her Gym/library. And I hope Crispin is like a nephew or something to Chili, Crest, and Cilan. That would be cool.
Makes sense. His ancestor did care for a Kleavor and Clay is a miner.
Ohhhhh so that’s why she uses Excadrill! It makes sense now
Her ace being one of her father's pokemon, maybe even a child of his Excadrill is fun. It is funny to think she grew up with that pokemon always protecting her
Hisuian forms were literally never extinct, that was a headcanon in the first place. The reason they don’t show up in BDSP is because the game is still set in 2006 Sinnoh not 2022 Sinnoh. If BDSP was allowed to have pokemon past gen 5 then they definitely could have a save file bonus that allowed them to be catchable in the wild if you had a save file for legends. So if we got an actual modern sinnoh game then the hisuian Pokémon would be there like every other Sinnoh pokemon.
No they were stated to have gone extinct in promotional material such as the website and notably in the anime hisuian pokemon were said to have gone extinct. Also pokemon that weren’t released by 2002 would have still been in sinnoh by the logic of the games as goomy, sylveon, and bergmite were native to hissui. FireRed and LeafGreen still take place in same time period of the original games, as with the other remakes but they still included pokemon from the most recent generation. There is no watsonian reason for them to have left out newer pokemon other than the doylist reason that bdsp is just a rerelease of the original diamond and pearl. Like within the canon of the games during the time of the original diamon and pearl there weren’t only 4 regions and then in 2010, Unova just suddenly appeared it existed before then.
@@Zlixlriffs The website for Pokemon Legends Arceus never said they were extinct. The anime called them “Forgotten Pokemon” which was a special that was released on Amazon Japan and came out the week before PLA released, plus it may not even be canon. The only other time it could be hinted they are extinct is in Stantlers Scarlet dex entry that states it used to have an evolution. The fact that some Hisui pokemon are appearing in Kitakami and Unova confirms they are not extinct. Plus Perrins main partner is an Hisuian Growlithe. BM Ursaluna is a special Ursaluna that specifically came from the time of Hisui and is a special case and Perrin confirms this is the Teal Mask. Plus when they were revealed just like every other new pokemon. They are also not ancient forms. The website officially confirms they originate from the original form. It was never stated in the website that they were extinct.
@@octokraken6359
Also how can hisuian zorua be exinct if it is a unovan zorua that died in the cold climate of sinnoh lol.
Exorcism maybe?
But yea the likeliest solution is just that BDSP are shit games and pokemon has problems keeping lore consistent oftentimes.
@@yurei4414 Exactly, how would these Pokémon be extinct when it’s been officially confirmed that they are not the original form. By that logic then all Sinnoh pokemon should be extinct.
@@yurei4414 BDSP is just a game full of missed opportunities.
Pokemon’s world building is incredible. The fact that they’ve kept all these family trees going is wild.
There's a theory that I read from SoulSilverArt that Clay might have married Elesa since Lacey uses Plusle and Minun (two Electric-type Pokémon) and lives in Nimbasa City.
Clay also built PWT one of best game features ever made
You guys ever think about how they could have just put Hisuian forms in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and said something to the effect of “they weren’t in the originals because we hadn’t though regional forms yet.”
Yes
Something like Let's Go even with trading Alolan forms
They also could’ve just said “Alternate timeline where the Hisuian Forms never went extinct/phased out.” Same reason for why ORAS has Megas.
Exactly, hisuian Pokémon were never actually stated to be extinct anyways.
@@Fr4yDayBut they were never extinct.
Literally I knew bdsp were going to be lackluster and *faithful* from the jump but I at the bare minimum expected this to happen, even if it was just a few of them. Like it could've just been a single event distribution for Kleavor or Growlithe after PLA's release but nope, nothing. An Origin form Dialga/Palkia boss event would've been awesome too. Oh well ....
Kinda sad to think an entire Pokemon line could be endangered to essentially going extinct just because of a material resource is becoming harder to find.
Lacey being Clay's daughter isnt just implied, its downright confirmed by nemona
hisuian sneasel fans are crying in a corner rn and i’m in a corner
That’s honeslty a solid theory for why Kleavor is in the terrarium
Also interesting to note that Lacey’s territory where you battle her has an overworld theme with the Driftveil city mixed into it. At that point, they’re practically screaming that she’s Clay’s daughter
I love that as soon as I could I got my very first shiny Flygon that has the Recluse mark she was immediately on my team in the beginning and awesome to see her can learn an fairy move alluring voice plus making her an fairy type.
2:11 Also, Nemona in the Epilogue says that she challenged Lacey's father. When Lacey told Nemona in the club room that he said he admires her willing to challenge him, Nemona says something along the lines of "Aw! Clay is so sweet"
Can we acknowledge how Lian looks like he could just be Clay when he was younger, despite being his ancestor from ~150 years ago, but Clay's immediate daughter looks newrly nothing like him.
Probably got the looks from her mother with only her love for Excadrill and brown eyebrows coming from her father (can we acknowledge how weird it is that she has brown eyebrows despite having pink hair?)
@@kendiaz89 It could just be that her hair's dyed. A rare trope for anime-style media, but still a possibility.
the craziest thing about clay being the father is that there’s a theory going around that elesa is her mother. that, actually kinda makes some sense?
Whoa I had no idea. Thatd explain why Lacey has two electric types on her team besides the Excadrill in the first battle
Would explain why she has plusle and Minum of all things in her first team
It doesn’t make sense, otherwise she’d mention how her *parents* were gym leaders instead of specifically her father.
@@sssspider Perhaps Elesa retired from the gym to focus on fashion? There's absolutely more to the story, because otherwise she would be from Driftvale and not Nimbasa
@@Druid-T Nimbasa and Driftveil are right next to each other, in the absence of additional evidence the simplest assumption is that Clay lives in Nimbasa and simply commutes to the next town over for work like many people do IRL.

I'm just still confused as to why they spelled her name as Lacey and not Lacy, since Lacy is literally a anagram of Clay.

Could you make a theory video talking about Terapagos and how it may be related to Dialga as its ability to manipulate time
Anyone else have the hunch Crispin might be connected to Chili or is that just me?
Not just you. I theorize the same.
He mentions that his parents own a restaurant, and if I remember correctly, Chilli also owns a restaurant, so it's hinted that they are related.
@@CringeAnimePFP160 Cilan, Chili, and Cress all run a restaurant together. I suspect they're related.
He's not. There's no mention of him being related to a gym leader, in contrast to Drayton and Lacey.
It is confirmed that Clay is Lacey's father because of a conversation between her and Nemona in the League Club Room, where Nemona literally states Clay with his name.
I loved the dlc I still have the extra content at the academy to do but the main stuff I’ve completed. Even tho the fire type elite 4 member is said to be from Virbank city I’m sure he’s a relative of Chili the gym leader of the Striation Gym who’s also a cook since Lacey isn’t even from driftveil she’s from nimbasa. Obviously we predict Drayten to be a relative of Drayden so I wonder who Amarys is related to I thought of the normal type gym leader from the museum but lmk if y’all have any other guesses. Hope to see more family generation tied characters in future games like seeing Blue/Gary’s child or Red, seeing a grown up version of other main protagonists.
Amarys seems like a good fit for lenora's daughter, personally. We met lenora's husband in black & white, so the likelihood of them having kids during or after black & white is preeeeetty high. In fact, disbanding the gym to focus on the museum & child bearing/raising might be the reason why she isn't a gym leader anymore by the time bw2 rolls around (too much on her plate)
EDIT: also it would make sense given her personality to have been raised by bookworms, museum curators, and paleontologists. Considering how stuffy, nerdy, and lacking in interpersonal skills she tends to be.
Drayton is confirmed to be Drayden's grandson. Hassel, who apparently knows Drayden, says it outright.
Crispin and Amarys are not related to any gym leaders, or that would be stated outright like it is for Lacey and Drayton. Nor is that a bad thing.
Imagine if SaltyDKdan plays the DLC and realizes shes Clay's daughter😂😂😂 that whole CancelClayParty stuff was hilarious with the confusion abouy Dreams real name being Clay

It does reveal that Kleavor didn't went extinct which means some Hisuian Pokémon might be somewhere around the globe.
This was a certifed Ditto cube/10
I mean, if they can bring back the fossil pokemon they can bring back other extinct pokemon too
Actually, it's been confirmed that Stantler don't evolve into Wyrdeer anymore so "logically" Wyrdeer are extinct, unless there's an immortal one, like the Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Kitakami.
I don't know about this but this DLC somewhat confirmed that there were Kleavors roaming at The Terrarium located at Unova, I can save to say that it becoming one of the speculation to the Pokémon Horizon of current whereabouts of Lucius' Heroes Six Pokémon.
Lacey is an anagram of clay
Ah, yes, Claye, my favorite pokemon character.
pokémon solved any issues with having pokémon from other region or very rare to appear on the current game in gen 1 with the safari zone so its always easy for them to justify
I wish they brought the item for ursaluna
It’s cute from a lore building perspective, but lacking in some ways…
We should be able to evolve Scyther into Kleavor standing up here imo.
They should also allow us to evolve Exeggcute into its Alolan form in the coastal region, Rufflet to its Hisuian form in the Polar region, and allow Stantler to evolve in the Kitikami region.
I agree, especially about the cross gen evolutions introduced in Hisui, they should be able to evolve cause they are brand new evolutions and not just forms.

Why Clay? Why not any of the other characters who didn’t already get something? 😅
then the question is

Another reason why Clay is my favorite gen 5 gym leader.
Claye shuffle the letters and you get Lacey
meloetta ......... they added her to the dlc and she is precious
So Lacey is Clays daughter and Drayton is Draydens grandson but is Crispin related to those triplet gym leaders who are also chefs?
Clay’s family relations aside, anyone else sees resemblance of Lacey to Klara from sword and shield? Apart from the pinkish hair, face structure looks similar as well. Maybe it’s asset reuse here for the model
She also uses Galarian Slowbro, Klara and Avery's ace Pokémon
first shiny i found in the dlc was a full odds hissuian qwillfish
Nice! Quite a way for it to come back.
I dont believe Lacy is Clay's daughter... but a new fairy type gym leader since fairy type wasn't a thing in gen 5... plus clay isn't 'scary looking' I'd imagine like a mix of Valarie and Ilima would look scary...
Lacey is explictly described as a gym leader's daughter, her hairclips have gems which match those on Clay and Lian's hats, her ace, which notably stands out as an outlier from her theme of cute pokemon, is the same as Clay's(Excadrill), and Clay is certainly sufficiently scary to scare teenage boys away from his daughter.
I have also heard that dataminers have found dialogue of her talking with Nemona which confirms it outright like Hassel does for Drayton. While it's not currently possible in-game, her being Clay's daughter is still very clearly shown through the other evidence showing it.
@@Missingno_Miner the in game dialogue is between lacey and nemona (the context is nemona saw clay during some kind of school party and jumped on him asking for a battle even tho she was in a fancy dress)
