    As a Yamaha fan, and a KTM 300cc rider I can say that it is a shame that Yamaha does not invest in the production of a proper 300cc enduro bike. The YZ engine without a counter balance shaft will never be the same level as the engine on other enduro bikes even the Beta has a counter balance shaft. If you race 5.6 hour hard enduro races you know the difference...

    • @WildAzzRacing
      @WildAzzRacing 8 месяцев назад +9

      Yamaha has invested in a 300cc machine as they are directly tied to Fantic financially. Also, I'm sick of the counter balancer crap. GasGas (yes, the real Spanish GG!) had counter balancers in their two strokes almost two decades before KTM and everybody said it wasn't needed, just added more crap and weight to the bike, so they did away with it. Then, as soon as KTM comes out with a CB engine it is somehow the best thing since sliced bread! Give me freakin a break.

      YZ 250 was never designed to be an enduro bike. The YZ was a motocross bike, yes many were used in the trail and it was the electric starter that made KTM the winning bikes they are today. If the CR250 or YZ250 was first with an electic start we'd be having totally different conversations.

      Stick with KTM 250 & 300 2-strokes. Or go with Husqvarna or GasGas smokers as they're all under the KTM banner. Sure the Fantic looks ok but will it be easy to get parts for? I've never had a problem with my old 2011 KTM-300xc with e-start. Think before you buy please. I've been looking at the 2024 Husqvarna fe-501s for a good street legal "albeit' 4- stroke but still a very nice bike!

    Yes the kick start option should always be available as a dead or failing battery can make this a desirable thing !!! Of course you can just bump start by getting a rolling start and dumping the clutch bike in a second or third gear !!! But from all my years of having bikes that maybe had a broken Kickstarter or a electronic starter but no battery!!! The bump start method works but not when you stall out some place getting a rolling start is not going to be an option at all because to even moving the bike is to place that's going to be the point you will have to recover it from let alone start it can make a kick start evaluable thing that some non knowing designer has no earthly clue about why that should be a fail safe final redundancy option !!! I'm glad my CR500 with the one off special mods nobody else has a clue about can easily smoke that 300 CAN and that's on my zero dollar Budget!!! If I had the funds to do what I already am doing better believe two stokes ain't never going away and that's taking in the consideration for being environmentally Green and correct !!! I'm almost positive my bike right now breaths cleaner then most four strokes !!! Ever hear of Stratified Fuel charge not a new concept by any means but definitely a game changer and that's only one mod I've incorporated in my whip !!! Don't get me started on the oils and fuel blends that really optimize performance and emissions!!!!

      I'm thinking the same thing, there's a whole market for Riders that are between 5 ft and 5 ft 7. But no bikes for them unless you go kids bikes. If you're shorter, it's okay to have less suspension travel and even smaller Wheels but you still need as much power to be able to ride the bike on the freeway if it's a dual sport. Why doesn't anyone make anything like this?
      They can think of it this way, just the typical modern tall rider and motorcycle and shrink it 15%.
      That would scale everything down to a size that would be comfortable for riders in the low to mid 5-foot range.
