If you think about it, the reason they became world famous overnight was because Denomilos put the camera feed on every TV across the world, and they used his phone booth to go back and study music. Without him they would never have changed the world!
Bill Sadler as Death is amazing and here's a fun fact, Death AKA Bill Sadler appeared on Tales From The Crypt episode playing a game with The Cryptkeeper before the episode that is The Assassin
The introduction of Death for me, made this film. Twister and electric football scenes always make me grin. Plus, the head future guy was also the main villain in Lethal Weapon 2.
I love the Reapers comment “You might be a King or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper” it’s so so true. You can be the most powerful person in the world but eventually you will pass.
I think the unsung hero of this movie is... Steve Vai. Does all the 'air guitar' licks or so I have been told, and does the intro to the final song (which blends into KISS's "God Gave Rock 'n' Roll to You II"; oddly enough people have had to mix the solo and the song together, they never released it in that state).
When they proposed using a 25 cent, toy ring, and the Mrs said, "Aww, how sweet".....my immediate thought for Hubby was, "Dude, do not let that one go." BTW, I think what popularized the use of the response "NOT" was Wayne's World on SNL. Kind of the same characters.
Buffalo NY’s own Bill Sadler is such an good & versatile actor..Obviously from being “Death/Grim Reaper”..To being Colonel Stewart in “Die Hard 2”..& co-inmate Heywood in “The Shawshank Redemption”..
The Not! phrase was started by the band Anthrax several years earlier and was used mostly by metal fans, this movie and Wayne’s World on SNL made it more widespread
William Sadler doesn't get enough credit as The Reaper. It cracks me up it's the same guy who plays Colonel Stewart in Die Hard 2. And I'd either play Clue or Domino's.
I'm told Wayne's World on SNL did then 'not' thing first. It was certainly used a number of times in the Wayne's World Movie, but that was after this. It's always fun to see an actor playing another actor's character. It happens a fair amount in fantasy and sci-fi, not so much in other genres. Does it really matter that the ring is cheap if the emotion and meaning behind it is genuine?
15:46 This little Chester A Arthur movie run you guys are doing is great. First there was Chester A Arthur as Abe Lincoln in the first Bill & Ted, then Chester A Arthur almost explodes in Die Hard 3, now the ghost of Chester A Arthur in Bill & Ted 2. Can't wait to see what other Chester A Arthur movies you have in store for us. 😀
William Sadler absolutely stole this movie. He was perfect as Death and I was really glad he came back (even if it was just a small cameo basically) for Face the Music. And like Mr Movies, this is my favorite of the bunch for sure also. I'm older than Mr Movies so the first movie I was certainly old enough to remember seeing in the theater etc. and I love the first movie but this one is all nostalgia and I loved the comedy way more. One of the most underrated scenes in the entire movie imo is Ted possessing his father - the actor who plays his father did an amazing job of doing Ted as an old cop dude. It was so fun. And yes, playing games with Death, top tier stuff. Best 3 out of 5?! STATION!
“It was just luck based on where things vibrated.” And that has to be the best “That’s what she said!” Line in one of these reviews yet that got completely ignored and not even noticed by Mr Movies.
Little Tidbits: The movie is a parody of The Seventh Seal, a classic movie. Bill's granny is played by Alex Winter. The song at the end, God Gave Rock And Roll To You pt 2 by KISS, was only available on the soundtrack for decades. The location where BnT are pushed off the cliff is called Vasquez Rocks Park, Its been used in dozens of films, and it's about 45 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles.
The name and word Station came from when the writers deleted a scene in the script that took place at the Police Station, but they accidentally left the word "Station" hanging there all by itself. They were drunk when they noticed it and started randomly saying "Station!" and it became the name of the alien and all it ever said.
This is one of the most wholesome movies ever made. i love it, Alex winter, plays his part so perfectly, and picks it up exactly the same in the 3rd one Keanu, not so much.
That video for "Epic" by Faith No More was in heavy rotation on MTV for a while in 1990. Kicking the new "futuristic" decade off, it was one of the songs that felt on the cutting edge with its rap-rock sound. By the time this sequel came out, the Bill and Ted cartoon was on Saturday mornings and they had the Bill and Ted's Excellent Cereal. Probably the most popular songs by Primus, one of the bands in the Battle of the Bands, were "Winona's Big Brown Beaver" and "My Name is Mud."
Mrs. Movies, your T-shirt reminds me that I never got a chance to see Fleetwood Mac live back in my high school days, in the 70s when they were most triumphant. Bogus!
She's definitely "heard' Faith No More even if she may not have heard of them. Some of their songs like Easy or Epic are everywhere. It is strange that the name isn't familiar. Could Mrs have been in some sort of a coma till the year 1998 when they split up then from 2009 till today when they reformed and is only roused long enough to record these videos and never sees anything of the outside world? That's the only logical explanation I can think of.
6:00 Pam Grier, 70's blaxploitation icon and Tarentino's Jackie Brown. William Sadler is such an underrated actor, great as Death here, he was also the main lead in the movie Demon Knight you watched 2 months ago.

My roommate told me this from something he had seen. Apparently, if the mgm lion roars once, the movie is just okay, but if he roars twice, the movie is really good. The more you know :P
This came out when i was 13, pretty much the target audience for this movie. Practically everyone my age watched the Bill & Ted movies, we copied their sayings, did air guitar and had a good time doing so. They were cultural icons of the late 80's and early 90's. Excellent!! Cheers for the reaction video guys, good stuff.
"Where do you think dildos come from." I'm sorry, Mrs. That was hilarious, though. The thought of probably millions of castrated robots for human pleasure is a funny ass picture
Alex Winter plays granny Preston, once you see it, you can't unsee it. Probably where he got a taste for weird make up effects that came to the fore in Freaked (1993)
Glad to see someone mention Alex Winter’s cult movie “Freaked”…the negotiation scene with William Sadler as the crooked CEO is hilarious! I think Keanu Reeves is in the movie too…
He was doing weird make-up before this with his zany short films he made where he played pretty much all the characters. They played them on USA's Night Flight. I recorded then to VHS and watched them tons of times as a teen. You can see "Squeal Of Death" and "Aisles Of Doom" on YT.

One of the few movies where at the end I felt like I was with them through a "journey" 😂 few movies give me that. Just a great movie, no 'trying to tell a story' or push an agenda.
"Hans" was, also, in The Hunt for Red October and was the villain in Lethal Weapon 2. Although this is a comedy, this is one of my favorite interpretations of the Grim Reaper. William Sattler, also, played the villain in Die Hard 2. I would play Death in the card game 3-13.
Those are the Vasquez Rocks, near Los Angeles. Once you recognize them you will start spotting them in literally hundreds and possibly thousands of movies and TV shows.
We went out there as a family at least once ( maybe twice ) when I was a child. Parents would not let me climb the higher rocks. Star Trek used it more than just the ep. of Kirk fighting the Gorn.
I definitely agree my favorite is the first one, but I don't dislike the 2nd one either, Death is such a random and awesome character to throw in the mix, but he fits right in after he loses and loosens up a bit. I also agree with Mrs. Movies it felt like a missed opportunity to meet at least some of the characters from the first movie in Heaven, it would have made total sense, but at the same time, they probably only had that one shot and probably wanted to show new characters to keep it fresh. which at the time made sense but watching it now.
The way I always looked at the Bill and Ted movies is technically the first is the better movie but Bogus Journey is the most ambitious and original sequel ever made. I prefer Bogus Journey because of that.
William Sadler's Grim Reaper is one of my all time favorite movie characters. Absolutely a GOAT comedy performance.
That character pops up in an episode of "Tales from the Crypt".
he's much better in this than he was in Die Hard Too
An amazing and diverse actor.
Agreed! Also, Death makes 2 the best of them in my opinion.
i wish i was related to him lol
If you think about it, the reason they became world famous overnight was because Denomilos put the camera feed on every TV across the world, and they used his phone booth to go back and study music. Without him they would never have changed the world!

I love both movies but this one has William Sadler's Grim Reaper and as far as I'm concerned he steals the scenes. Totally excellent. Party on dudes!
Damn right!
Yeah, I always preferred this one because of him.
I also think Alex Winter completely outshines Keanu Reeves this time around.
“Best of seven?”
“Damn right!” 😂😂
This movie is *so* ..
I mean...what can I possibly say about this sublime work of art?
*_STATION_* !!!!!
The earliest use of "Not!" dates back to books from the late 1800s, but it was used here and later in Wayne's World, both of which made it popular.
28:54: "Two Heads are better than one" by Power tool is on the soundtrack to Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure.
The introduction of Death for me, made this film. Twister and electric football scenes always make me grin. Plus, the head future guy was also the main villain in Lethal Weapon 2.
"Diplomatic Immunity!"... puts a bullit between his eyes.... "Just been revoked!"
I'm pretty sure I also saw him as a villain in a Buffy episode once.
The guy who plays Death was also the villain in Die Hard 2.

I love the Reapers comment “You might be a King or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper” it’s so so true. You can be the most powerful person in the world but eventually you will pass.
An underrated performance by Hal Landon Jr (Ted's dad).
The band that was playing at the battle of the band's was primus
The performance by the actor playing Ted's dad when he's possessed by Ted then switching back was pretty incredibly perfect, as ridiculous as it was.
