      @Claudius Maximus 1.) Pretty sure the use of my name and picture shows that I'm not trying to "lurk anonymous"
      2.) You're coming at me like I said the movie sucked. I didn't think it sucked. I liked it. I'm pointing out a critisism. Remember criticisms? They can be constructive -- like mine was. Just because I point out a flaw doesn't mean I hated this movie in any way. Just sharing a thought about a movie. I don't see why I should "Such" up for that.

      Claudius Maximus My opinions certainly don’t matter any more than anyone else’s, including yourself for that matter. The OP shared his, however, on a video with a comment section designed for...sharing thoughts, obviously. Criticism, especially when posited the way the OP worded, is not only valid, but relevant to the content in the video. Coming out swinging with a “Shut your dumb ass up”, makes it clear where your feelings and thoughts lie. And speaking of eroding your brain, the way you speak is suggestive of some long-term weathering for sure. Bet your toxicity levels are off the chart, with how much negativity-fueled shit-talking your comment is comprised of.

    Why is there discussion about how she got her powers? If the logic you use is applied then HULK, Bruce Banner should have a 'meta gene' too! • @Chenso2099
      @Chenso2099 5 лет назад +4

      True, though, it’s kinda just thrown in there. I don’t know, it just didn’t give that same impact. There’s really no explanation to her powers besides that it comes from the tesseract, which can have it be anything. They should’ve just elaborated more on her powers and what she could do besides just having it be “oh, I shoot photon blasts and fly in space.”

    • @Chenso2099
      @Chenso2099 5 лет назад +1

      Marvel060 for some, sure. But if you have all the heroes have some sort of meta-gene or X-gene then it would take away a bit of what made them special, because then it would make someone like Steve Rodgers be born at an advantage which would diminish what he represent as the every-day-man becoming something grand from his bravery and nobility rather than having good genetics...if that makes any sense lol

    • @Chenso2099
      @Chenso2099 5 лет назад +1

      Marvel060 I dont mind Hulk and Captain Marvel, but T’Challa and Steve should just be products of experimentation and natural sciences. I get what you’re saying. I’ve read DC and know of the meta-gene, and I think it’s a brilliant explanation to a lot of the super humans in their world, but some should be left untouched and be true to what they are; normal men and women that are granted awesome powers out of their own strength as individuals, not for having lucky genes.

    About the arc: this is a film about self-discovery above all else, which might not be as monumental as some other origin stories, but I think that’s what resonated with me and others. Again, understand if you don’t vibe with it, but hey. As for her powers, there are several other superhero characters (even in the MCU!) that got their powers out of convenience, so while it’s a valid critique I wouldn’t say it applies just to Carol.

    A couple of points.
    1) The SSR became SHIELD by the 80s, in Ant-man the prologue with a younger Hank Pym was in 1989, SHIELD was fully formed by that point. Even the Triskileon Building (SHIELD HQ) from Winter Soldier was midway through completion.
    2) The Skrulls aren't monolithic. There's Good, Bad and Neutral factions in the comics. So nothing stops Secret Invasion from happening in the MCU.
    3) It was established in Captain America: The First Avenger and Ironman 2 Howard Stark found and kept the Tesseract he also headed Project Pegasus, which Mar-Vel/Dr. Lawson was a scientist for in this film. The fucking CUBE was with PROJECT PEGASUS since 1944! By the way Project Pegasus is a subdivision of the SSR/SHIELD.

    That comment from Fury about Thor in Avengers 1 is actually more interesting in retrospect. They accuse him of building weapons with the Tesseract and he says it's because they found out last year that we weren't alone in the universe. But when you think about it, it's weird that they're so far along in the year since Thor became a known thing. I know SHIELD is pretty advanced for a human organization but advanced to create that sort of thing? Doesn't seem feasible. It would make more sense that he used Thor as a convenient excuse at the time since everyone knew about it and rather than law his cards all out and only complicate the situation further if he were to tell the truth.

    funny for some people that think this movie would be too political even if that’s the case some of the MCU movies where political i.e. Infinity war with Thanos wanting to stop overpopulation and the solution would be genocide, the first iron man a rich philanthropist selling nuclear weapons to the government then terrorists capture him to make the bombs, Captain America 1, 2 and three where all political where in the first one literally in a historical time piece where a Nazi wanted to take the world like Hitler, the second one where shield thought to be legit was infiltrated by the enemy and had more corruption in senators and other political figures, and the third one where the govt. wanted to suppress the avengers use of superhuman abilities and only use them when ever the govt. needed to. So just cause now where where a superhero women with barely any propaganda in the movie is just an origin movie I guess it’s going to be a tragedy if it was “too political” that’s some smart logic I can see why some people will hate this movie *Sarcasm*.

    I was waiting for a commercial break while watching it. Felt like a tv series instead of a high end movie.

      Cornell Ginger I had the exact same feeling. It felt like a movie that I would have seen in the mid 90s, which makes me think it had to be deliberate.

      I got the same feeling, but I think that worked in its favour for me? It had a grounded Bourne Identity feel and that 90s backdrop definitely had something to do with it.

    The Marvel name is huge and it ties into their biggest movie of all time.. stop gassing. And it was BARELY a success just like Ant-Man. Watch the box office drop off from here on out.

      You honestly think that a cartooned muscled up Jimmy Fallon looking dude has ANY potential of beating a marvel MCU movie?
      Especially made by DC that has not had a good movie aside from Wonder Woman and maybe Aquaman?
      I mean his fight scenes are going to be a huge CGI mess

      Nothing like the comics and the movie has not even officially released yet...so you cant judge too soon....

    I'm a little disappointed with how Fury lost his eye but I'm not mad and it's not a plot hole.
    The SHIELD thing I always took as Coulson being sarcastic in response to what Tony said. Because the acronym is still SHIELD. So you can still call it that for short. That said, I don't think they can fit the whole name on a hat so I wouldn't be surprised by it already being called SHIELD. Not a plot hole.
    And the tessaract thing idk if it's a plot hole because anything can happen between these movies and I also don't see what is plot holey about it being where it was.
    What made the movie wasn't the (vague) female message, but the fact that she turned Super Saiyan. XD

    Nick Fury's badass origin could be introduced in Black Widow movie... How he recruited her in SHIELD. And maybe there will be more N.Fury with a Monica R. or other Pre Iron Man shows/movies.

    When it comes to Korey talking about the 55 percent of audience being guys and them being there to see how this connects to Endgame I would be willing to bet that if people knew after credits scene to endgame this movie would not have gotten the money it did. It really is just there for endgame and could easily not exist. If anything the MCU would have been better if it didnt.

    I am glad this movie made a lot of money, because it means we will get another one, hopefully in the hand of someone more talented and with a clear idea of the character, and maybe, just maybe, we will get our Winter Soldier or Thor Ragnarok moment with her character as well. I can`t wait!

      Yeah it’s cool that this movie is doing well in the box office because it will show Hollywood that female leads won’t hurt the box office. If a mediocre film like this can do big guns then you can’t really keep relying on the female leads don’t sell argument.

    21:44 If you know the character Nick Fury well enough, you know that he never tells anybody everything he knows. When he said "Because Of Him" pointing to Thor, I was never under the impression that Thor was the catalyst that Sparked the Avengers initiative. Its just a reason he can give that prevents them from asking more questions. Remember, Cap was in the 1940's along with Howard Stark. The Origins of Shield start in the 1950's with Stark and Carter. the attempts to re create the Serum are the origins of Hulk.

    At about 6:30 : I agree, the change didn't bother me anywhere near as much as the "Mandarin' switch, but having Skrulls be the good guys kind of kills any plans for 'Secret Invasion" (Unless they say that a splinter group of militant skrulls [Skrull Isis?] is doing the invasion).
