You are right when you said a shower that drains slow most likely is from hair cloging the pipe. All I do to unclog a drain is to pour a little Clorox down the drain it doesn't take much and walk away job done. Your drain will be working in five minutes.
After I get the hair out I put a couple cups of baking soda in the drain and then pour in some vinegar. It bubbles everything else out and cleans the drain at the same time. Then flush with lots of hot water.
