Does anyone else get random stutters/hitches in Chivalry 2? You can probably notice it in my videos and it's frustrating me. It seems unrelated to whatever graphics settings I use in-game. I've tested my pc and recording setup in other games and haven't noticed any issues so it leads me to believe it's a problem with Chivalry itself. If anyone has some insight that would be incredibly helpful, thanks!
"The Longsword is fast" - says the man while playing with the shovel XD Good games! I can't wait for the patch to finally arrive tho, as far the random stutters/hitches I definitely think that it's the game causing these issues. I believe that I read on the Chivalry 2 Discord Server that Tornbanner is working on improving the server stability in general.
I want citadel, belmez, and irilla back. I don't know about you but the density of chiv 1 maps was perfect and ended up making it better to me, a city really felt like what its supposed to be and not a massive open area for archers to reign. I think with the chaos that chivalry 2 aims to create they ended up opening up cities way more. The workshop needs to return though, the custom maps were extremely fun and often better than base game.
The title alone earned my sub. The shovel is my GO-TO all day. The dull thud that it makes when it crashes across someones skull is like ASMR to my ears. It swings like no other.
I guess a shovel would technically be a really good weapon if it were made sturdily enough, you have great leverage combined with a sharp edge to perform slashing motions combined with the flat part for bludgeoning. Again, that’s if it is made sturdily enough … a normal shovel however, would likely break against the slightest bit of armor. But, if you made a “War-Shovel” or something like that with extremely durable wood and a nice, heavy head … then I imagine it would be quite detrimental to whoever found themselves on the opposite end. Albeit, I’d be much more of a fan of something like a one of those war axes with the slashing head, a large hammer on the back for bludgeoning, and a spike on top for piercing - it would cover all the bases.
@@kiritimatiswan1986 It was just a fleeting thought, redundant brainstorming in case of some highly unlikely post-apocalyptic event like a “zombie virus” or something equally far-fetched. Though, there’s likely far more reliable options within one’s tool shed than a shovel… axe, machete, sledgehammer, even a crowbar would be better since it’s just one solid chunk of metal (no moving parts to worry about breaking or falling off) - chainsaw is far too impractical (because the whole needing to fuel it thing or cleaning and oiling the teeth/chain and keeping up with the parts), not to mention how loud it is. Anything that would require you to get too close is also a bad option, like a screwdriver or a wrench (unless it’s one of those big ass ones), one mishap and they can grapple and munch on you, so, you want to maintain a fair bit of distance. Makes sense, it was so strong back when the game released. I was fighting someone in duels the other day using one and it still seems quite good despite that however.
What's the difference between yellow counter success and blue counter success? And why does it sometimes say "successful block" and "riposte"? Aren't those two the same?
Successful block means you didn't do a riposte or a counter or get hit. The yellow riposte basically means u hold block and use any attack after to perform a riposte. This attack uses stamina, which is why generally a lot of players try to counter a bit more than riposting as countering doesn't use stamina. Countering is the blue one where you are holding block and perform the same attack as them right when they hit ur block. Countering doesn't use stamina. To prevent people from being in a counter-off, feinting can be used after a counter which is generally very effective. Timing/mixups/stamina management is the key to winning

I kinda want them to remove the shovel. Not because it is op, but it is goofy and should not be a weapon to pick in your loadout but rather be laying around like all other tools...
it's look so easy to play but how cooome it's so hard for me to have at least 20 kills each game :( playing 4 days already and none results, how come you attack so fast after your previous attack you've just made. You should have been blocked by an enemy :/ but you just kill kill kill
The weapon balance is quite okay in this game, not horrible. I think they made the shovel good because the engineer class would be absolutely underwhelming without even good weapons. The engineer would have absolutely nothing going for him without the good weapons. I think thats fair. This is why you dont see the shovel that often, even if its super strong, the class as a whole is not and quite vulnerable. One handed spears are far more annoying and frequently.
@@aberger6666 Because people love to complain. But I 2nd what Lukas has said. The weapon balance is ok. Some weapons are particularly good against specific targets, which is why they may seem op if you play the same class / weapon all the time. But whatever strengths they have are balanced by a weakness. With the shovel, it has extremely short range. Yes, it is difficult to fight against if you are a slow knight with a slow weapon - but you can switch to your sidearm to increase your strike speed. As Lukas says, the spears seem to be more of a problem. I just walk away from guys with spears. With speed and long range combined, the spearman just spams the stabs and there doesn't seem to be much you can do if your class is not fast enough to close the distance.
