I noticed you're using Global Change to reduce the original duration of activities and have applied a filter for activity status not equal to 'Completed.' However, this approach also impacts in-progress activities. My question is: when the % Complete Type is set to 'Physical,' reducing the original duration of in-progress activities doesn't affect their finish date because the remaining duration remains unchanged, and the finish date is calculated based on the remaining duration. How can we effectively perform crashing for these in-progress activities as well? please correct me if i am wrong. also let us know easy method to do crashing or fast tracking, as I have 40,000 activities schedule.
@mohdmuzu142 I don't think you fully understood the video. There are many additions and changes required, and we will update the content to provide more comprehensive details. First, there is no filter in the global change for setting the activity status as "not equal to completed." Second, we never instructed you to change the percentage. Please review the formula used to calculate the new start date and remaining duration. A lot of important details were missing due to video editing. For a more thorough understanding, please refer to the article where the process is described in detail. However, before closing, I must emphasize that this is not the final version. We plan to release an updated tutorial, which might take some time, but the technique is now more refined and detailed. Keep in mind that this is an older video, but it may still be useful for certain cases or projects. If it helps you, feel free to continue using it; otherwise, consider updating the method.
Hii Sir , When we getting approval of baseline from client/ Consulta nt then from this baseline we we prepare recovery plan and adding percentage of each activity and adding actual dates of each activity? Before adding actual dates and percentages we remove the assign baseline?
Why are you changing the actual start dates? why this this change being performed? So now the schedule will show different actual dates different than the project records
