The watch clips are my favourite of antiques road show. You see people who wore Rolexes and Omegas every day as their normal watch including two former American soldiers and a former British navy seaman
What a beautiful timepiece ! I own a German hand-wound watch that is serviced every two years - it's as good today as it was when I first purchased it, & in fact, has increased in value; no batteries, no automatic movement - just simplicity - much like the pocket watch. Wonderful !
I wan to see a show where they travel back hundreds of years and show an iPhone to pocket watch makers, and see their eyes bulge out when they are told how relatively little it costs to buy today.
I just love the stories behind these antiques.
That's what makes this show. Some of the stories are mind blowing

Keep your watch serviced well and it will become an antique as well...one day...😊
Never heard a quarter repeater which struck like that before.
It’s *that guy*

Thanks for scratching it with your tweezers buddy
Made me cringe watching the closeness of the tweezers to that immaculate soft gold case😩
Could you point out where he scratched it, please. What time in the video did that occur?
You'll notice he's careful to never touch the watch with tweezers

@@jameswillis8969 So no scratch then.
I think I'd brake the box open for £3,000
