    Missy feels like that one person who could just look at you and sort your life out, give you a hug, and solve all of your problems before diving off into the ocean to become a mermaid.

    I happened to sit next to Missy on a plane flight a few weeks ago. I only spoke to her briefly, but I got the sense that she is a truly decent, intelligent and down to earth young woman. It was a pleasure to meet her!

      Luke Montgomery well maybe she needs to be a little more hard on herself if she wants to do good next Olympics. But she is still a nice person.

      She is completely fake. She is actually angry and depressed, not this fake pretend happiness the media pretends is life. No wonder she had that massive depression. Until she stops the fake laugh, she won't find happiness.

    Wow, Missy is actually very young person and she has, the same as american sports public, too high standards and expectations. Guys, even being in top 8 in US or top 3 in US is amazing achievement, but being among 8 people in Olympic final is huge achievement. Hey Missy, you did a great job in Rio, it is just a fact that whole world is practicing hard for those results, so I wish you to get more medals in Tokyo, but even if you win only a relay medal, that is still a huge achievement.

    I really wish I had her as a friend because I could use some positivity in my life. I haven't been able to take disappointments the way she has. I'm so glad she'll be coming back for 2020. I wish her the best!

      Unfortunately just a sad show for the U.S in the individual side of things in regards to this one. Hard to believe there weren't other swimmers representing the U.S that could have gotten a better placing alongside Ledecky? Very sponsored driven (rigged) in terms of who gets a chance it seems (but hey what do I know I'm just a common working man who likes the water).
      America can't send athletes to a global event televised to millions amongst millions of people and then have them place in 7th or 13th. Sad. Doing well during the trials is meaningless if it can't be replicated or outperformed during the main event. It's a waste of time, resources, and money.
      A great swimmer in every way but we can't have that level of choking on the global stage.
      2020 Tokyo? If we receive another performance like the one we saw at Rio then it may be appropriate for her to follow Japanese shame customs after a great defeat. lol

    • @dsfddsgh
      @dsfddsgh 8 лет назад +3

      Missy earned her spot on the team whether you like it or not. Those girls at the trials could have beaten her and made the team but they didn't did they? And they wouldn't have done any better then Missy either. Missy has 5 Olympic gold medals and doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. Not all american swimmers are going to win medals simple as that.
