I want to support you, Whitney. Get the red legging fabric! I had the same thought about the color of the camel fabric ( might look nude).
I enjoyed the video-everything looks so nice. You have inspired me once again.

Your timing is perfect! I am planning to make some activewear. Looking for patterns, fabrics, and “how to” videos. I will check out your fabric stores. How to videos or class for activewear and swimsuits would be great.😊

I feel like the camel color is dark enough that it won’t look like you aren’t wearing pants. Go for it!!!
Also, totally go for the red!!!

Wow, the University of Sewing events sound fabulous. I wish I could visit Indiana! Buy the red fabric for your leggings. Red brings you joy. While there's a place for frugality, it's not everything :-)

Like you, I've started working out daily and now I want all the cute workout clothes. Aaronica Cole talked about Amanda's Bundles for activewear fabric and I've found that they have a nice selection. She specifically recommended the Peached fabric for leggings because it's so soft.

I did pick up some fabric from Amanda's bundles while at Sew Expo and I'm eager to give them a try!

I think the camel fabric would look better as a flared-leg athletic pant. Go for RED as soon as you can. You will be so happy to be working out in them.

I enjoyed the video! I never thought i would make activewear (famous last words...) I made Loxton Leggings from Muna and Broad from Breathe Tek Athletic from Discovery Fabrics and I love how they turned out. I also have in my stash from Discovery Fabrics, Polartec power dry lightweight, which feels very similar to a Lululemon workout top I have. I'm hoping to make the GS Leeward too!

Great timing! I'm interested in finding the right fabrics for athletic wear, too. The cost of good athletic wear makes making our own seem economical and fun.
With rayon/viscose, my experience is that even high priced rayon fiber doesn't hold up to wear long enough. Comfortable, yes, but not durable. I've had several expensive tees, skorts and pants made in rayon and rayon-stretch blends. All of them wore out quickly in spite of being washed in delicates wash and hung to air-dry. They pilled and (the ones with spandex) puckered. Badly. So I'm back, looking for lightweight, wicking, smooth fabrics like the ones Ibkul, Kjus and Kinona use. Heavier for bottom, lighter for tops. Ideally, with UV 50 protection. Whatever you discover in your fabric search and wear experiments would be gold for your audience.

I laughed at your description of taking care of your "old lady" body. I think you're a few years away from that.😆My activewear is pretty much worn out and my favorite brand is no more so I need to start making my own and really appreciate your tips.

Agree with red leggings. Or find something else in your stash that will work. The camel will look like you are naked, and you don't seem excited about them at all. I bet there is something else you could make that you would feel really excited about wearing. You should feel super cute every time you go to the gym.

Love this channel :) Entirely understand about the feel of polyester - I can’t do it in most circumstances either. Just a quick note to say that your voice is going in and out of focus in the last few videos - not sure if you’ve changed your mic or are standing further away etc., but I’ve only noticed it recently (but I also have sensitive ears and sensory issues, so perhaps it isn’t noticeable to others). Anyways, it’s just a small comment. Otherwise, thank you for another great video 😊

Great information. I hope you have a sew tutorial on how to make leggings.
I would love to see a tutorial on how to put a zipper pocket into the back of a tee shirt. You see them in biking and running gear. For phone, keys and such

@@cheryl3366 I would use a lightweight interfacing to support the zipper opening!

I agree with many others - get yourself the red leggings, you are being very good with the other clothes - and who wants to look pantless at the gym - unless you want to be e tiktok star

  • @brendawyber6556

Ok I guess I will be the outlier here. I do not think the camel will make you look nude. You are pretty fair, and there is enough contrast ( now if you had showed us blush pink - which I know is not in your palette -i would be screaming at the top of my lungs😂). If you want red and will be encouraged to go to the gym by all means get some. You will look great.
Now a different question. I have a herniated belly button that sticks out as if I was pregnant. I am 71, so NOT pregnant. Could I put a panel of power mesh across my belly on a pretty fitted dress to help disguise it. I use Nips ( those silicone nipple covers) but in the summer they sometimes slide off. Not a good look.
Love the videos. Cannot wait for Tue and Fri AM. Cup of tea, and my day is off to a good start. Love seeing Jenny as well.
    ❤️❤️❤️
