TLDR
When the red tubes in the middle are about to fill up, one person has to grab the cube and run. The rest, target the crystal on its mouth. Breaking it will cause the red stuff in the tube to decrease and the cube can be returned. Rinse and repeat.
Side note: When it opens its mouth, quickly run to its side so you steer clear of the laser but still have a view of the crystal in its mouth.

you HAVE TO BE HOLDING THE CUBE WHEN HIS MOUTH GETS BROKEN, then you can bring the cube back. Other wise the blood vial does not go down. FYi Yall!

Someone has to be actively holding/running with the cube in their hands when the mouth is destroyed, or else it won't drain the vials.
I kept encountering randoms who would grab the cube and immediately drop it. *Don't do this* else your exact problem will occur.
This boss is actually easy. The only hard part is people who queue in without knowing what to do
well i wont be clearing then with randoms holy fluff
If you clear it with them they wont let you play normally on the next boss lol

tried it now for 2 hours ... dmg and surviving isnt my problem but its so impossible to do it alone
thats been my problem, team is wrecking the shit out of him, less then 50% super fast and then he just one shots the entire team and GG's us back to Albion. And wtf is the hang on key, see no bind for it?

Also I noticed the best way to dodge his laser beam is to just run or roll under him to the other side.

Does he go into a frenzied state because you took the cube out? If so, what's the point of destroying the tongue when you could put the cube back in. Does his frenzy stop when the cube goes back in or when the tongue is destroyed?
if u dont destroy tougue to lower the redbar the redbar go up the boss do aoe wipe the team
Once you hit the 8 min mark the boss will insta kill the entire time. Which why you have to take the cube to force him in frenzy and destroy his tongue. Then once tongue destroyed you'll put cube back in and rinse and repeat. If ya don't put cube back in then you'll get nonstop lighting strikes.
A Bunny, Two Ajaxs, And a Gley. That's how I beat it
You have 8 arms and eyes, impressive!
Gley is S tier with that rocket spam.
alternative 4 Gley and end it in one minute
Hitting mouth with controller also absolutely horrible.

I keep trying this with randoms, they will literally if i get down grab the cube and put it back getting us all instakilled, like if ya dont know what to do why does undoing what im clearly doing what the randoms immediately try and do?
My gley build just slayed it before it could do anything in a full group. May have to spend a day helping people

The main problem is braindead underleveled randoms, there should be a filter to divide randoms into these individuals and actual players

ah the cube, just tried few times and could not work out what was going wrong then noticed no one was ever doing the cube thingy
I apologize to all destiny players we in fact need a lfg because playing with randoms is braindead trauma had a guy pick up the item from a downed teammate and returned it instant wipe

I joined in to this fight for the first time, and told the randoms I was with that it was my first time (joking that I will try not to die), not knowing there was specific mechanics.
Seemed like my party knew what they were doing (even had a guy try and run up to the center to get the cube), but not once did they at all tell me what we needed to do, nor did they explain what happened after we got 1hko/wiped. I even asked and they just stood there not responding.
I swear, these days feels like majority of people just don't socialize/talk in online games.
That, or I keep teaming up with mimes. (fricken mimes..)
They could be console players and can't type fast
@@mikemancini3728 I did this a handful of times with randoms since this post, and (more or less) encountered the same issues.
I figured out what needed to be done, told the randoms I'd be the one to pick up the cube and run for the fight, told them they had to shoot the mouth, etc. No responses, and when I have to pick up the cube, I often see randoms simply either trying to just evade (I guess thinking they just had to wait out the enrage mode) or still shoot at the body (as I see them trying to shoot from behind the boss).
After half a dozen times doing (and failing) the boss with randoms and no one communicating, I looked for a group and found one that communicated and we got it done.

Some of them could of very well been console gamers, but I doubt all of them were.
Did 3/4 of health before frienzed stage with randoms🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Any recommendations for doing it fast? The whole team dies in like 4 minutes he does it right after the shield is gone
I keep getting him to like 20% HP then getting slapped in the face
I was expecting a difficult fight, I used electric modules to resist damage, I had a lot of defense, and I even made my own Tamer with toxic damage, I was using Freyna... Well, first try with 2 random Bunnys and 1 Ajax... kinda disappointing lol
I had a glitch where right when I picked up the cube, I went down at the same time. When I got revived I still had the cube in hand while holding my gun. I was able to shoot and use speed of light. Even though I was able to do all of that, the randoms was not shooting at the tongue and we end up losing💀 ran around for most of the match too 🤦🏻♂️
Why the hell does every game nowadays need to make the final boss a f**king puzzle?!?? Its such a terrible idea ESPECIALLY since this game is online and relies on RANDOM PLAYERS. Also, he moves around waaaaay too much to be able to hit his mouth. What a terrible boss for a great game

@@STUPIDOvizion Actually I finally did it, but I think it may have been a bug or maybe it's a feature, but Bunny's 4 seems to ignore the body of the dragon much like her 3 ignores walls, and as long as I was targeting somewhere near it's head, I could hit the tongue, even through the back of the dragon head I was able to do destroy it so...dunno this fight is garbo and the rewards sucked, not even lvl 100, but 95s instead.

We do so much damage to start and then randoms just don’t understand how to aim their gun and shoot the tongue doesn’t make sense

Hate this fight: forced group play with no way of knowing if anyone has any idea what to do, AND you have to kill the tongue in one go or its hp resets. That's just mean. Half the randos have no idea what to shoot at even if you are carrying the cube for them. Find a way to make us be able to queue this private. Currently, your only option is to pray you dont get a stinky group. All other bosses you can get around this by queuing private and soloing. Here, you are at the mercy of teammate RNG as you simply cannot be a runner and a shooter. I hate it.
I'm also ASTOUNDED at the amount of randos going in there with seemingly 0 defense. You know whats a good way to not get one shot? Hp and defense. I Have 0 elec. rez. I'm still tanking all hits and recovering just fine (yes, even the big death lazer. I'm even able to tank it while rezzing one of you dumbasses) Just do it, level HP and DEF and stop hoping you get carried by a 3 man. If you're gonna be useless at least dont be dying every 15 seconds.

I can’t lie if you have a team that knows what to do this boss is easy af the problem is not having a team I had to replay this boss multiple times just to get even close to killing him because people simply just don’t know what to do once you get to the invulnerability state people literally just stop playing mid fight its fucking annoying just shoot the shit in his mouth then when he’s vulnerable again shoot him it’s that easy rinse and repeat but nah mofos just run around the arena dying over and over or go afk it makes no sense

Currently taking a break from tfd. 85 runs with about 50 of them being deaths to the mechanic. Its a horrible design for a game thats face roll up to that point.
What a bullshit. Two not braindead people can do it in 5 rounds or so with randoms. I guess you are in these other two people category 😂
@real13D I actually managed to pass it not long after posting this. Turns out that my issue was that I had my aim assist off because I get motion sick. Turned it on and carried. And no. It's sort of hard to get past it when most people in the game refuse to do the mechanic. As soon as I had a valby that would return the cube it was done.
So yeah. Still that's a massive amount of bullshit to go through with randoms.
@@leviknox5567 tryed next boss? I fucking get tired of it. Low MR individuals who got carried by us into the post game don't even scratch the next boss. I want to have a filter on randoms, in the early stages of the game's lifecycle it is really hard to play with auto-arraned braindead ranmons
@real13D I did try the next one. Took about 3 tries to get passed it. Am currently getting jayber to 40, sharen to 40, and trying to unlock Enzo before I take on the next boss.
While I agree people that got carried without then turning around and grinding gear and leveling skills, the game sort of needs every player it can get to keep progressing and making new content. So it's a grain of salt deal.

Biggest problem is finding agroup of friends who..
1 play the game
2 know what there doing
3 willing to communicate
4 not going in with under level characters.
Destiny eventually suffered this casualty with raids and lost a lot of players due to people not being able to commit to these kind of things. This boss will definately put a lot of people off. As much as im enjoying the game i worry that its going to end up being a game that only elitists play and will become a lonely experience for casual players.

@OverlandATX Even I beat him with bunny. It's not the descendant you use, it's the modules you need such as chill/freeze that'll help with damage.
He was tough the first round, but after I beat the story and got myself the 100 gear level I popped in random lobbies and fucking melted his armor, and mopped the floor with his ass.

OK, so play how you want but you’re making a how to video to kill a boss that is strongest against electricity and weakest against poison get instead of playing a character with toxic you’re playing a character with his strongest resistance. I think you hold L2
Grapple to a yellow piece, hold L2 and when he stops trying to shake you off you press R2 repeatedly until it is destroyed (keep holding L2).

What a dogshit boss. The fact that this is the first boss that has these secondary mechanics with the cube and the game DOESN'T tell you about it just makes this one a major fucking headache.

Most randoms you will join are under gear recommendation as most are just trying to blow through it. Chill rounds help with damage as he is weak to frost. Honestly, the fortress was harder considering he heals himself and his armor if others can't do enough damage to the pods he uses when he frenzies.

what a horrible guide and video editing... at 7:55:49 you went from no shield with 1/4 health that is about to down but at 7:56 you went to full shield and health and say "This isnt very hard"...............

The insta kill move is bs, and whats with hanged man with taking him on solo being blocked pyro and swamp walker was able to be done solo and that was the key instead of relying on randoms

I've tried with Ajax and I've tried with Kyle and neither of them are allowed to grapple
Ajax main, all characters can grapple parts, ill admit it's trick sometimes though.
