That was refreshingly straightforward - nice! The access it gives in the engine bay is worth the price of admission. And I’m glad to see your elbow is doing better 😊
Yep, last time I had to do something with mine I had to have jacks under both frame rails and futz around with their respective heights to get the geometry right for it to fit. Been putting off a couple of things that would be easier with it out of the way partly because of how no fun that was.
Me too. We knew that the chassis was pretty square, just didn't know if the towers were collapsed. But we felt pretty sure that it would be OK since we installed the engine cross member.
We didn't replace the lower corner we actually replaced the entire apron area because Diana corn has reproduced the front and rear apron sections that video is in our list.
Hey Jeff, I am not sure if you have a 60, 61 or 62 Falcon. The reason I ask, there are many people out there putting a V8 in a 60, 61 & 62 Falcon. This Export Brace would be a great addition to those early Falcons since the stock shock tower braces are only single thickness and they don't have torque boxes either. There is a great 24 page document that used to be on the FCA Tech Tip page that explains all the changes made when F O R D added the V8 to the Falcon. It is a report called "INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING CONFERENCE APRIL 22 - MAY 3, 1963. DEARBORN MICHIGAN. Message me with an email if you would like a copy.
Great Job Jeff....
Thanks!
Jeff, while even though I found this very informative, it could, always use more squirrels ! Great work.....
I like squirrels...
yes Jeff we want to see you weld and grind
That's evil...LOL

Right on! Me too!
@@AutoRestoMod I feel your pain on the elbow. Gout and other inflammatory diseases are so terrible, especially if you're used to being active.
Only thing makes me sad was the part wasn't made in USA..,but in all honesty what is any more nowadays. Great video Jeff
Our desire for inexpensive parts has set that trend.
Great job!!! We had to use a hydraulic jack to on open our engine bay for our 1968 Cougar. Keep those videos coming.
We did too on Cams car.
That went in easier than re-installing the stock one in my 67 Mustang.
Ouch.

Slowly bud surely the rancher is coming back.
We hope to have a driver by mid summer.
Shouldn't your lock washer be on the nut side of the bolt? Maybe I have always been wrong on doing that?
You might be right. Although I have seen Shelbys with the washer on the top like we did it.
Thanks for sharing. Glad to see it fits so well.
Me too. We knew that the chassis was pretty square, just didn't know if the towers were collapsed. But we felt pretty sure that it would be OK since we installed the engine cross member.
Did you make a video on replacing the front corner of the inner fender (below the battery) 64 Ranchero ?
We didn't replace the lower corner we actually replaced the entire apron area because Diana corn has reproduced the front and rear apron sections that video is in our list.
That bolt is a weeeeee bolt. You scream weeeeee as you toss it over your shoulder.
HAHAHAHAHA Weeeeee. I setpped on it later and bout tipped over and broke a hip.

I'll get it and we will do a video. Even the '64 and '65 Six cylinder Falcons are bad for flex. Send me an email and I will do a vid.
Jeff, your welding is always entertaining.
Did you measure the engine compartment to make sure it's square before fitting the export brace?
We did wen we were doing the core support and apron.
Lol... "...like a Golden Retriever with a squirrel." Me too.
Every. Time.
I'am #1
Yes you are!
