    Been riding and racing for decades, picked up a Templar X to keep on the back of our RV as a runabout. The bike has turned out to be substantially better than its $1799 price tag, so much so that I've started riding it on some of our "real rides" just to see how it does. Couldn't be happier as this is great for the sport.

    I picked up a 2002 Templar ex250 have had no vibration issues this is a 6-speed model I would have to give at eighty-five to ninety percent grade comparing to my past bikes I am on YZ250 KX250 all Japanese models very good quality so far on my Templar 250 x. Are about 350 miles on it mainly off-road some dirt roads

    Any new updates on your Templar?
    I just ordered one and I’m looking forward to plating it and seeing how it holds up. Thanks for making these videos 👍

    Great videos. Fun to watch. Split on the plain templar or the X.

    Even the top names can’t get the fuel injection right. What makes people think it would be good or even ok at best. The only reason they went to ego is because of the epa. Carbs are great and well tuned aftermarket efi is awesome.

    I haven't finished watching this video (saved it for later) but, let me say this: I bought a black one fully assembled a couple of months ago. I did notice a few things that weren't tightened down properly, in particular, the front levers. I assume this was so you could adjust it to "your" fit and needs more easily. I fully inspected just about every nut and bolt on it and I literally found nothing wrong with the fully assembled bike that I bought. Most of the key elements of the build were clearly marked with a blue pen (possibly Loc-tite?). So, that indicates to me that someone "checked" their work. Maybe I got lucky? I don't know but it's a hell of a bargain either way. I also (apparently as you did) took the pad off of the handlebars in the center. Makes the "dashboard" a lot easier to see. I'll finish watching this tomorrow.

    One thing that I haven't seen in any of the vid's on these Chinese 250's is fuel consumption. So a quick estimate on how many miles to a tank would be helpfull.

      get around 80 miles offroad to the tank on my fs250

    Im thinking about buying a templar, just wanna know if it’s a good size for me. Im about 5’11 and weigh 160. Will the bike be too small for me or just about the right size for my height?

    I was looking for the part you said you used Loctite on some bolt in the other video but I'm just gonna delete it from my cart now

    • @CjhEjdl
      @CjhEjdl Год назад

      It was simpler than i thought once I realized you just meant the screws on the disk brake and since I have experience with these chinese bikes I'm still considering it. Once their fixed, they last forever. I can confirm

  • @jeffreysenior

    If you’re going to recheck every bolt, you might as well put a drop of blue Loctite on every bolt

    Japanese and European proper dirt bikes are certainly way too, too expensive, and this is why someone buys those Chinese low, low quality products. We cannot blame anyone for doing it, but personally I would chose a second hand well built machine and rebuild it. Even reselling it after would be much easier.

    • @trevorjameson3213

      Yes, or just spend the extra money and get a new Honda or Suzuki, etc., and it will run trouble free like literally for the rest of your life. I still own my '99 XR250R that I bought new and still ride, never had a single issue with it ever. Same with my '05 Suzuki DR650 that I also bought new back then; never any problems of any kind. Or like you said, a good used one would be just as good if it was taken care of.

      You can't convince an idiot.
      40 years ago Japanese stuff was looked at with distaine.
      Today it's Chinese, the Chinese are making great strides. Just look at the strides make on just these bikes in the last few years...
      Soon they will be as good as any. Yet closed minded people like you will continue to spout the "narrative".

    The only thing that I have found that I'm not real happy with is I cannot raise the wheel in second gear to go over logs and such. If anybody has any input and how I can get this to do what I needed to to Willie over logs in second gear please let me know

      Add a few teeth to rear sprocket. It has stock gearing suited to ride on road easier without too high rpm

    Where are you buying the air and oil filters?

    • @trevorjameson3213
      @trevorjameson3213 7 месяцев назад

      It doesn't actually have an oil filter in the typical sense. It has a metal oil screen behind a bolt/plug on the side of the engine, and it also has a centrifugal oil "filter" behind the right side engine cover. This was typical for 1970's Honda dirt bike engines, and this engine is a copy of those. Air filter appears to be a copy of an older KTM air filter, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
