    Note: Four screws are hidden, and this is not obvious in this video. See this follow-up for details: ruclips.net/video/qQDPHGZSE6A/видео.html

    Thank you for the video! I have one of these laptops and it's the most reliable computer I've ever used. Anyone who says otherwise got a bad example, the Pavilion series has been the most bulletproof computer I've ever used!

    The screws hidden!!! with the fast forward it's not clear

    • @ComputerHelpNI

      You make a good point! Each of the rubber 'feet' concealed a screw, and the video fast-forwards through the points where I remove those. Sorry it's not very clear! I'll try to avoid doing that in the future.

    hi every one,in fact, a clean windows installation always gives better results, if the old operating system is healthy, it will do the same to take an image from windows and install this image on the ssd, 3rd party software may not always give good results.hp brand always does this, hides the screws etc. If you are going to buy a new computer, first choose LENOVO (thinkpad) and then DELL, ACER or ASUS. In models with Intel and AMD processors, the screws are hidden under the tires. HP consistently manufactures these sloppy computers, sloppy even in corporate PC models. Good luck.

      I agree that a clean Windows installation is the ideal, but in most cases my customers didn't have the ability to reinstall the old software that came with the computer (and that they still needed), so cloning Windows was the best option for them.

      Updates to the OS is exactly why these HDD based HP Pavilions die in the first place! The OS updates get increasingly more demanding and choke the drive. I've got two computers that have died because of updates, one identical to the example in this video (was just as slow, if not slower, after a clean install of windows) and the other is a 2013 Lenovo AIO C340 which is just as slow.

    Hiya, I think you should seriously consider editing your video, or at least add a pop up comment for correction at 1:30 to mention about the 4 hidden screws and the fact that you'll have to pull out the DVD drive, otherwise you'll never be able to remove the bottom panel. Most people would just click play and watch your video without reading the comments to figure out they're missing something...

      Thanks for the feedback. This laptop didn't have a DVD drive, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. As for editing the video, my only option would be to delete this video and upload a new one, as RUclips doesn't allow editing of existing videos. I will add an edited version and then put a card on this video linking to the new edit.

      @@ComputerHelpNI Thanks :) Just don't want another guy like me spending half hour trying to rip the panel off or worse breaking part of the panel. As yours came up as the top result from my search. I'm holding in front of me a TPN-C129 that has a DVD drive! I think it's a different variant than the one you had :) saw another disassembling clip that has the same as mine too. Anyway thanks for making these helpful videos!

      This laptop (HP 15-bs158sa -- TPN-C129) doesn't have an optical drive. Here's the spec: support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05817137
      However, most laptops optical drives have a different SATA connector than what you will find on an SSD, so swapping them would not be possible without some type of adapter. Search Google for 'laptop drive caddy' and you might find what you need.

      @@ComputerHelpNI I have an identical model to this in almost every respect (case style included) but it does have an optical drive (in fact I made a point of getting it because it had one xD).

    You forgot 4 screws mate. You have to pull the 4 rubber plaques away and you would have seen it. Thanks to this vid I broke 2 pilars. :-(((

      Sorry about that. Someone else already pointed out that I fast-forward through removal of the four screws hidden by the feet. I added a note to the description, but perhaps I need to remove this video or add something to the thumbnail to warn people...

    Can I ask why you are not using the M.2 NVMe slot?

    • @ComputerHelpNI
      @ComputerHelpNI  3 года назад

      Only because we had SATA drives in-stock, and the customer wanted to replace the existing (as opposed to adding a second drive). But you're right, an M.2 drive would have been faster.
