Tal - The magician Shirov- Master of mystic arts Magnus - The machine Anand- Sorcerer supreme Petrosian- The Iron man Karpov- The constrictor Fischer- The illusionist Kramik - The Wall Kasparov- The Beast
What I love about how Anand played this is how he maneuvered his way through the middle game so that he can have a simple and clear advantage in the end game. A lot of moves were spent on that complex attack on the black king with all the pieces and queens jockeying about. And the whole point was to just swap queens and expose some weak pawns in black's camp. Very Magnus-like.
Since you presenting some great games from that generation, I would like you to suggest this great game. #suggestion Teimour Radjabov vs Vasyl Ivanchuk, FIDE GP (2002) (rapid), Dubai UAE, round 3
Is it that people fall apart rather quickly nower days because they are worse in unknown territory than guys 25 years ago were - or is it because the players nower days are so much better at converting slight imbalances than their counterparts were?
@@cybereye911 have we considered the white bishop keeping an eye on the white rook? so the pawn upgrade is not guaranteed; white will simply move the king and ignore attacking the rook. if black rook captures w rook, bishop will recapture... or? (yesterday I might have missed this)

It seems to me that player of the current era just memorize lines. They don't know theory and how to actually play as well as the older guys. It just a memory game.

30 years in the lifetime of chess is the blink of an eye. "Hypermodern" chess was popularized what, a hundred years ago?
I think that's the lifetime of the universe you are talking about@@dd-lk5io

And the old defense now
Tal - The magician
Shirov- Master of mystic arts
Magnus - The machine
Anand- Sorcerer supreme
Petrosian- The Iron man
Karpov- The constrictor
Fischer- The illusionist
Kramik - The Wall
Kasparov- The Beast
Add one more and we'll have the most deadliest candidates of all time. Obviously to challenge Paul Morphy (with modern engines)
Stockfish - the Goat
Fabi - The Machine
Magnus - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Boris Gelfand - The Legend Himself
Capablanca - the endgame specialist and the great defender
5:45 More like the engines played the strongest move recommended by anand
I forgot about our good friend the light square bishop 😔
No shame It happenes to the best of us in fact i forgot too 😂😅
one of the most beautiful game ever seen. just supreme
“The master of the mystic arts” might be the greatest chess nickname ever!

Anand VS Gelfand, world championship game 8
This was the shortest game ever in a world championship.
He already showed it

awesome game as usual. This looks like an awesome tournament. Thanks a lot!

#suggestion - Since we're into great attacking games recently, please go for Anand vs Topalov (2005) MTel Masters.
@5:57 why not Nxf5, and win the exchange????
@ 15:20
How bad a move was (Black) Rook to e1? Isn't that a forced queen promotion?
he would move the king , if rook captures rook , then bishop captures rook , also preventing promotion
One of the best games I have ever seen
Anand has 16-2 record vs strong player like shirov in classical.
These guys were monster chess players.
Agad just makes my day going to watch yt in bed and always see new vid amazing
5:53 how about bishop captures the pawn on H6?
Oh, wait, there is rook h5 or even rook f2. Never mind.
A nice complex game with chances of sacrifice and win, thanks.

Los Pollos Hermanos 🥶
3:46 Doesn’t Bg5 just win the Q immediately?
#JustAsking why can't you just add magnus's and Dubov's pic in the main photo of your channel.
15:21 Black rook e1 is the correct play, check and guarantee pawn upgrade.
Even I am noticing this am I really missing something here I mean they are top GM if they don't consider then something definitely I am missing here

I'm confused at 15 min and 28 second why can't black rook just check the white king and after the trade can promote to a queen? Am i missing something
Anand will not trade and just move the king. Rook is defended by bishop.
You forgot about our good friend, the light square bishop.
Forward to the past :-)
Somehow I really like Anand, please make his Saga.
Indians : WE HAVE BEEN SUMMONED.!!!!
Nice Game very competitive only takes an extra pawn or two to determine who will win Thanks for the Game Enjoy your day

I'm impressed with how shirov played this
The last of era where games were creative and not just memorised theory
This game was maddening.
12:04 sniper bishop strikes again
FYI, wrong game in the description.
#suggestion An update on Medo, where is he?
There's a bishop on B1?

I do appreciate when you show some disgusting engine lines.

Yes. Magnus is also the all-seeing Eye of Providence
Lol😂 magnus is more than Thanos still i remember Once vishy called him a universe because he is good at everything in chess.
15:04 -?! if black had given the check he would have won the rook and the game.
He wouldnt capture the rook he would just move the king and if the black captures the whites rook white would simply recapture it with his bishop which is also covering the promotion of blacks pawn
Shirov on this channel serves the same purpose as the hoodie guy-to lose games for our entertainment. We should all honor him for this great service.
Please add ‘captured pieces’ too on the screen.
