  • Although Tim has been collecting toys for nearly 40 years, he is still just as keen on adding new items to the collection as ever, and any trip abroad is a good excuse for seeking out new and interesting items. During October 2013, Tim spent some time in Boston and New York, and found a number of intriguing items that caught his eye. Here he shares some of the best ones...
    Sorry for the long gap since we last posted a video. We have all been busy working on the Grand Illusions Christmas Catalogue. We should be able to share a link next time we post a video.

    So that puzzle at the end is pretty much designed so you can't loose a piece.......and Tim lost the entire puzzle! 😂

      +Jonathan Dunlop My guess is that inside were a bunch of pockets that went up and down (think of a cutaway of a toilet bowl) and water couldn't pour into the main bowl until the water that was already in there was poured out.

    I love how you seem comically disinterested immediately after showing the current curio's effect adding to me what sound like sarcastic comments such as "wow what a piece".

      "...and this last item I have here is called an... m1911, I believe it's called. Wonderful little thing, I must say. Fires what they call a fourty-five, uhm, ACP, or something. I only tried it once so far, my word is it loud! Such a lovely and American toy, I do enjoy it quite a lot! Heh!"

      That’s basically impossible... you’d have to have a glass that would somehow constantly be chemically analyzing the liquid in the glass and referencing the contents through a database of known roofie compounds... that just isn’t something you could make.

    You know how you can't imagine a tesseract? Well, Tim closing and opening that cube has that weird effect, because of the 2D screen.

      Erik István Fejes ... uuuuuh... not really... not really the same thing at all... the shapes are merely swishing so it seems distorted... nowhere near the same effect of picturing the 3D shadow of a 4D shape, which is what a tesseract is.
