Kim sounds amazing and this is a homage to Tasmin. It’s an honor to have someone cover your song. It doesn’t detract from the original and she’s certainly not trying to one up Tasmin. Tasmin is a truly gifted vocalist and should have been far more popular then she was. She can always record new music to a new audience. This song was such a huge part of my life back then.
I was a teenage girl , 13 years in 1981, my room was full with posters from Kim. I was learning to draw her face. I still find her a beautiful soul with a very Nice voice no one else has ! Maybe she is still wearing my earring I sent her.🤭 A 'golden' broche..and it was one. I did receive a thank you note from her ! 💜. A yellow handwritten note. I love Tasmin Archer and I have followed her career a long time. Sleeping Satellite was the debut single by the British singer songwriter Tasmin Archer, it was released in 1992. The song was a number one in the United Kingdom Although it was first released in 1992, Archer and her co-writers wrote the song in the late 1980s. It was only when Archer got a record deal that the song saw the light of day. And when it hit the air waves you couldn't get enough of it. I like Kim Wilde's cover of sleeping Satellite but it doesn't beat the original version. I think Kim Wilde is a another good singer and my favorite will always be her song Kids Of America.
So long as the cover brings something new to the table, it's justified. This version tries to do that. But the similarities in style are maybe a bit too much to really stand out.
This version is far below the original. Spoiled a great song. Archer’s voice and emotion were in her song. This is just an older singer doing a cover. Archer definitely the best

Tamsin Archer had a younger voice that is richer and fuller without limits of octaves or strain. The original was recorded 27 years ago by a then 28 YO youthful Archer. I am not slamming Wilde as a singer. I still have her 45’s from 1980. However, a 50 YO Wilde just didn’t sound as well or impressive or add anything better or unique to this song. Unless the recording moves the song and art forward, it a pointless exercise save for the profits of those recording it. I stand by my view. The original is better and should be left unblemished
This song should be an ANTHEM across the world. So magnificent. I loved Tasmin's version. But Kim is such a Godess! She can sing anything she wants in my mind. Thank you for production.

That's one Hell of a Cool Cover Kim ( and still with your unique brilliant voice too) .... this just came flying by like an SR71 on a covert spy mission ..... Wow does this sound nice too .... Strangely enough for an other wise loud rock guitarist, I always loved this song. In the early 90's I'd use to turn the stereo in the car up to 11 ( yep, all my volume controls go to that lol 😀) .... This is such a great classic .... all those years ago, .....the beautiful memories this song brings back, make years disappear like Ice on a hot summers day ...

What is ironic when "Sleeping Satellite" was released in 1992 and when I hear it on radio at the time, I was convinced that Kim Wilde was actually the performer. When I discovered that it was original Tasmin Archer, i was amazed

Wow, Kim Wilde is still releasing new music! This is some 30 years after her huge hit with "Kids in America." I always found it ironic that a British singer had her first hit singing about kids in America. It's fantastic to see someone over 50 releasing great new music. Sadly, this will probably get lost in the glut of prepubescent pablum crap the music industry has foisted upon us.
This is great. Both original artist and cover artist have a passion for the voice however Tasmin gives an indepth surreal atmosphere when singing it. Maybe she got more vibes off the song but either way great cover.

I really like your version of this song Kim it has some real depth to it. I see there are many saying they are sticking to original and new doubt they have their reasons which is fine.......I will be listening to both versions, I love the original, but your version has deeper harmonics in my opinion and I love to have a choice over versions of songs....I think that’s the real beauty of music.
