- George and Mildred is a British sitcom produced by Thames Television and first aired between 1976 and 1979. It is a spin-off from Man About the House, and starred Brian Murphy and Yootha Joyce as constantly-sparring married couple George and Mildred Roper.
Despite the final notice George has forgotten to pay the electricity bill and a man is sent round to the Ropers to cut off their supply. This would be bad enough at the best of times but the visit coincides with Mildred's efforts to impress Ethel and Humphrey with a gourmet dinner party.

I used to think they were so old when i watched this as a nine year old. They're actually younger than i an now😂😂. Youtha Joyce was so glam.

Sorry, Yootha Joyce made so many laugh & happy in George & Mildred. Yet, in her real life, I don't think she could find personal joy & happiness. Passed away due to drink, I believe only in her 50s

I think Humphrey is a good sort really, although he is rich and has done well for himself he is no snob and doesn't like to embarrass George and Mildred by reminding them that they don't have two pennies to rub together.

Have seen some on RUclips, but they are rubbish, bad sound and pictures so dont watch, be brilliant if you can 👍
