I like your channel and your content. It’s a real perspective on life in DR. But let me add this: people need to get to a place where they realize that spending money unnecessarily on eating out, drinking and partying doesn’t equate to a better life. When it comes down to it, it’s the simple things in life that bring happiness and joy. Things like swimming at a beautiful beach, fishing, cooking, hiking, visiting a river, enjoying a sunset, biking, rollerblading, visiting friends and family. I say all that to say you can live “minimalistic” and save a lot of money. Just because another country’s cost of living is cheaper doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot more to enjoy it. Therefore, you can live in DR and spend anywhere from $800-$1200 USD very easily. It just depends on how judicious you are with your finances. Spending money doesn’t mean happiness. This revelation typically comes with maturity, whatever the age you realize this.
@@TommyBrysonTB, I got an idea for you to save even more money, if you’re a U.S. citizen. Don’t spend money on cable subscriptions. I have a better solution.

I agree for most of what you are saying, but I disagree in a few things , because it really depends on your income and the type of goals you have in life, if you want to buy a home because you want to build a foundation to pay 0 down the road when you want to retire, well its better to buy a home then renting NOW. not when the prices double 10 years from now. Schools for kids matter, because schools determined a lot of things, such as social circle your kids will be around, the influences you want your kids to be around, do you want your kids to learn multiple languages, to learn music theory and so on and so forth, statistically speaking kids that goes to better schools tend to do better in life, thats a fact not an opinion. Many believe one cannot live on a budget like yourself. However, it can be done. It is being smart with your money. People move to the Dominican Republic and still want to spend like they are still living in the United States. There are some people that still love spending like crazy wherever they are. Completely agree, his mindset on the value of education is tragic and shocking. It's so regressive and if he chooses to home school the child, from the outset its cognitive development will just become as stunted as his own. The child will be cut off from all potential opportunities to become an intellectually, culturally and socially enriched individual that comes with the opportunities to fully experience all the curricular and extra-curricular activities offered both inside and outside school. His perspective on the value of being exposed to and learning about the sciences is also very regressive, particularly un the modern era. The fact is lack of scuentific understanding and Innovación is what keeps Black and African nations behind and dependent on the West. A fully rounded educational experience at all levels is what nurtures creative and critical inquiring minds that can enable individuals to appreciate life and the world in all it's dimensions and contribute to making it a better place. Good quality educational environments are also spaces where students meet and interact with others from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds that usually contribute to the positive development of a child and its chance to maximise its full potential in the company of intelligent and disciplined peers who also excel academically. Its so tragic that these black men with new money mentality who have not been exposed to these educational opportunities or have not excelled within education then limit the possibilities of their offspring because they don't know any better and can only understand education from a limited functional utilitarian perspective. In my view this us dulling for the mind and numbs and cages the soul. My parents just like most other Africans always emphasised that a good education is one of the most important priorities in the upbringing and development of their children. Even for the poorest in African communities a good education is what they prioritize and strive towards for their children with the objectives that their children must go to university.
