Tim is an awesome guy, no bullshit, no planet sized ego - easily one of the nicest guys I've met in music and what a terrific singer - absolute LEGEND! \m/
I saw Ripper, with Judas Priest, in Towson, Maryland, a long time ago. I could not believe how great that show was! I thought, Rob is gone, we'll see.. Wow Ripper was amazing! He did the absolute best, in that situation that anyone could have done. It was special....
Tim is the best. I've done several songs with him now. He is quick and comes up with something super dope immediately. It kind of blows me away every time. He is a mega Talent.
He did well in studio. Gotta tell ya, I am not into Halfords "Santa Claus" look or his band. Like Steve Howe, it aint Yes, it aint Priest. I saw Rob's band, mediocre, low energy and phoning it in. KK has something to prove so he is hungry. I find this interesting. His band is fine.@@lamentate07
Back in the day "Tim Owens" fronted a Judas Priest Cover band. Who would have ever thought back then that he would evolve into a great song writer and awesome front man. He's lucky enough to work with the original guitar player from Judas Priest. For those of you who don't already know this, It was KK Downing, that had the final say about letting "Glen Tipton" into the band. I'm sure that KK would agree with me when I say that hiring "Glen Tipton" was the greatest career decision he ever made. It's to bad thing went down like they did, however, I love KK's Priest and I'll support "Ripper Owens" for his excellent abilities to create and perform. Great interview. It's so cool watching your channel gather all these musical icons. I wish you well, Cassius. peace.. Joe
So glad to see the Ripper back in action. I met him briefly years ago in West Chicago when he played with Beyond Fear. Cool guy, great night, hope to see him here in Italy soon!
I can see why this channel has so many followers. Of all the dudes who interview metalheads or other musicians, this is the only one who knows how to ask a question properly and pays attention to the answers before forming his next question. Most have a script of questions that are too long and are usually a compilation of false multiple choice questions.
I just seen them at a 1,100 seater and they had the cool videos in the back and that’s fine with me. They brought it big time. I wanna hear a live cd next.
Every time I see Tim I always think of what Buddy's boss says to Buddy in Kill Bill Vol. 2. "The hat. That fucking hat. How many times did I tell you not to wear that fucking hat?"
Dude you rule bro. I’m a Buckeye dude myself. I’m a screamer too not as good as you but it’s in the water here in Ohio lol. I totally dig your style and you did an awesome job on the Priest stuff. Great interview. Rock on!!!!
Im one of the guys that thought , halfords out. Priest isnt priest no more. I heard tim with this album, and really wish i gave him a chance. I LOVE THIS DUDES VOICE. FUKIN GREAT. IM GOING TO ANY CONCERT IN LOS ANGELES RIPPER WILL SING AT. THATS HOW I CAN MAKE UP FOR IT. I BOUGHT THE NEW ALBUM BY KK'S PRIEST AND GO TO EVERY CONCERT I CAN TO SUPPORT TIM. THIS IS MY LESSON , GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCE. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT LIKE THEM. BUT YOU TRIED AND DIDNT MISS OUT LIKE I DID.
My old band Stix & Stones played with Ripper's pre-Priest bands Winter's Bane and British Steel in Central PA... Dude couldn't have been a nicer guy and class act... Will always respect and support him!
Tim is a good dude. Got the gig of a lifetime and well deserved, I can only imagine what he was thinking when he joined priest back in the day. I was fortunate enough to see that tour in 98 and holy shit, me and all my friends were massive priest fans, my best friend. Did sound for that show, we were all like Holy shit he sounds better than Halford and this is live! Been a fan ever since. Does anyone really understand how hard it is to sing as good or better than Halford in his prime?? Ripper did it and still does to this day! GOAT
Power trip show is coming up.IF Priest was smart they would bring KK in for that show and Tim . Let him sing one or two of his songs. That just might make Priest the best show of the the weekend
The heavy metal singer warm up: start with the correct song. For Iron Maiden that could be Wicker Man, for Judas Priest I could be Electric Eye. Give the voice a chance to exercise a little.
Tim refers to the bad decision making of Judas Priest. Mostly thanks to Glenn Tipton and Jayne Andrews who stupidly said 'No' to allowing Paramount Pictures to use the song Reckless on the Top Gun soundtrack. At the time, dumb Tipton didn't think a movie with fighter jets and some guy named Tom Cruise would be a hit. However, the rest of the music industry did and many bands and singers were trying hard to get a piece of that action. Reckless would've played over the end credits, it would not have been the main song. And Top Gun's end credit run time is the same run time as Reckless. So the filmmakers really thought Priest would not be so incomprehensibly stupid in the end.
Not entirely, he saw the disease creeping in on Glenn and it affecting the live shows. Plus, Glenn’s wife controls the direction of the $$ towards the songwriting.
@@mr.brenman2132 Dream on! He most certainly is not. While very good, he simply cannot fill the shoes of Halford in so many ways. His high notes pale in comparison to Halford or Geoff Tate. Then again, this current generation of rock and metal heads has lowered their standards to the point where anyone sounds great to them!

This dude makes me want to go check out his band. Seems like a very level and good guy.
😎👍👍
He definitely is a great bloke
He’s even better now than with Priest in the 90s.
I always notice when some artists are down to earth, show respect, gratefulness and genuine modesty.
Be sure to check Iced Earth with Tim Owens

Ripper kills it every time. KK's Priest is one of the best ever metal bands. They just torch the "Priest" of today who are spent.

Great interview with some very interesting insights into the music industry as it is these days
😎👍👍
he has sang on a few tunes and he sends me like 20 tracks all in a different style ,so good!
Great interview! I like your spontaneity. Great questions! Thank you!
Tim renewed my love for Judas Priest. Could not have loved another vocalist in Priest other than RIPPER!
Ill be rocking at the wiskey and in riverside. CANT FUKIN WAIT MAN. KK'S PRIEST 'S SONGS ARE BAD ASS MAN.

We used to see Ripper in Scranton with the cover band British Steel. A great guy who earned his success in the music industry.
KK made his bed.......
@@painkiller1968 And Priest is in the Dog House playing his tunes.. And everybody is happy now. What a beautiful ending.

I loved Ripper singing Metal Church live. Outstanding job!
I first listened to Tim Owens when he was vocals for Iced Earth and I thought his voice really fitted well with the music.
Kk's Priest are an amazing Band!!!! I had the pleasure of seeing their debut show in wolverhampton back in July!!! Was absolutely awesome!! 🤘🏻😎
Every time I see Tim I always think of what Buddy's boss says to Buddy in Kill Bill Vol. 2. "The hat. That fucking hat. How many times did I tell you not to wear that fucking hat?"
Hey tí could be a helluva lot worse. Just think of Bret Michaels and that stupid faux-cowboy hat he has permanently attached to a bald head.

His way of talking reminds me of David Ellefson. It’s probably their shared mid-western roots.

I don't think Rob will ever sing beside Tim. In my opinion, Tim is just better, and I think Rob is a legend.

I prefer my live in concert experience to be live in concert.
I’m glad there is no bad blood… but it’s too bad Rob Halford refuses to sing any song from Tim’s albums with Judas Priest.
Both Jugulator and Demolitin were 95% written by Tipton. They don’t want to have to pay him even more from playing songs from those records live.
if they were smart , they would book kk priest and judas priest.
I've always really liked Tim's vocals but I wouldn't actually consider him a great vocalist. Verygood in his own right. Verygood interview.🤘
Tim > Rob
ugliest tattoo in the world??? nice interview, nice guy! loved his years with Judas Prist!!!
Really? Well that sucks you think so, fortunately everyone else loves them And I LOVE them so I guess that’s what matters. 😂.
🤣
Not a fan a Ripper
Too much of a red-blooded conservative American for ya or just don’t like his singing?
Just dig Halford like the other singers from Iced Earth better as well.
so its not a nationality thing either .@@serpentdove6964
Thanks for sharing that valuable input 🙄🤣
@@CS-1988 Glad i was able to point out that ripper is a clone and not a great one either🤣😂🙄

Ripper looks like he lost some weight.
I'd like to see Rob attempt Blood Stained or Cathedral Spires.... I think he'd shit his pants. ;)
It's a distraction from how awful the show is.
KK sold out. He prefered golf FFS. Then his golf course went under and he wanted to be back in the band. Now he's slagging people off... again
Not entirely, he saw the disease creeping in on Glenn and it affecting the live shows. Plus, Glenn’s wife controls the direction of the $$ towards the songwriting.
Wow,getting paid for doing what you love to do is selling out, sounds like something a musician that can’t make it says
He's NOT a great metal vocalist! Good, maybe. But not in the same league as the all time classic greats, that's for sure!
He's not only great but objectively more talented then the vocalists you think are great. He can hit notes that Halford could never hit.
