Another great interview! Hard to go wrong with The Metal God! His book, considering how much I already knew, and having met and interviewed Rob multiple times, was revelatory. Great work, JJ!
Oi. Love that yam yam man. Confess is my favorite artist autobio now. Thanks for the stories and honesty about the sober life in both your books. Guess youre an OK singer too mate.
My first recollection of Priest was at a venue in New Jersey at Asbury Park. We were there to see Twisted Sister, and we had no idea Juda Priest was at the time. I do remember twisted talking about them and playing a couple songs of theirs but that was not on my top 10 yet, YET! The next morning I got up and went to Titus Oaks, a local record store and bought Every record they had. The next record that came out was British Steel. And that was It for me. I mean I was hooked from when I saw them in New Jersey but British Steel put it over the top for me. And to think I was there to see Twisted Sister😂😂🫶🏻 Oh and we got to meet them after the show by their tour bus and I think I got all of the band members autographs. Rob Halford’s wasn’t on a business card at the time LMAO,

JJ wow holy fuck what an interview gist of all i’d like to say nice highjacking of the name FRENCH CONNECTION absolute genius your gift of gab is unparalleled you are amazing BTW i read your book so F🍔🥩🎩🎤🤘🏽G good
Halford is not your peer champ, he is your better. Comparing yourself and Twisted Sister to Priest and Halford is the funniest, most desperate thing ever.
Thank you, Jay Jay, for one of the best interviews with Rob. The core of the interviews was not you blowing sunshine up Robs ass or Rob doing the same or comparison, it was genuine and humble with two guys just talking about old times no one trying to one up each other but just good memories and not gushing over quote/ aka The Metal God but Rob and Jay Jay as two mates just talking. Rob is a humble and loving person as you are. I remember seeing you at Harpo's in Detroit. Michigan on Twisteds first tour and after the show saying to myself WTF did I just witness and was just blown away from the show. The best part was the end of the interview when Rob said how he loved it even though it went longer than planned. That shows equally and respectfulness from both, no matter the status of each and a big hats off to you for not grilling him about Invincible Shield or how the was the tour going. I've watched so many interviews recently with Rob that seem so scripted, this was not. Rob was so relaxed and happy that it was not. Being 58 and have seen Twisted Sister about a dozen times and loved it because at those times, I feel that, and Rob said you guys had some balls at that time with the makeup. Yes, the New York Dolls did it, but Sister turned it up to 11. I am looking forward to more interviews from others. A huge thank you, Jay,Jay for a great time down memory lane. Peace out my brother.

Amazing podcast, Jay Jay. Interesting topics, insights and guests. You both are a true inspiration.
I know I am not the only one that wants to hear those Twisted Sister Judas Priest cover songs.

The Metal God
Head out to the highway was 1981 not 1978. Ozzy didn't go solo until 1980
How does this channel not instantly have 10,000+ subscribers? I posted it on Facebook. I hope you gain some subs.
No one likes a desperate and deluded presenter... the guy thinks he is on the same level as Halford because of his gimmick band...
@@rockenOnethey rock pretty hard in my book.

Love Twisted Sister but it was unfortunate that Jay Jay immediately tried to place himself on the same level. 😢

JJ is totally fos he's so full of himself and illusions. Twisted sister weren't even popular they were inactive longer than they were active.
Halford is disgusted by this guy u can tell.
