    I would strongly recommend wearing safety glasses when removing snap rings. There are more than a few people walking around with only one eye from them.

    Definite improvement in sound. I'd keep the old parts just in case, though, as they require little room to be stored.

    Just so you know the dealer told me couple weeks ago to never turn the bike off with the red kill switch.
    He’s had multiple bikes in where they have used it the switch long term and it damages the engine due to killing the engine mid cycle as it’s an emergency switch.
    Always use the key/keyless button and it will finish the revolution before shutting off.
    I tried it and you can definitely hear the difference in the engine.

    Aside from the ascetics, what is the advantage of doing this, if any? Also, can it interfere with passing emissions? Thx. Looks great btw.

    • @AmenCornerRider
      @AmenCornerRider  3 года назад +1

      For me, it was pretty much the looks (and it does sound better, vids never quite do it justice). The cat is still there, so no worries about emissions. Thanks!!

    I also wish we could have heard it with the baffle. I might look at getting one for my 2020 r1250r but might keep the baffle in it.

    Did the arrow exhaust cause any issues with the performance of the bike? Low end torque still there? I saw some videos where aftermarket exhaust cause the bike to go into gimp mode

      Yes!! I also test rode the RS before the R. I liked it, but the R felt better to me right off the bat. The RS was a bit more leaned forward. I put a really nice Z Technik Vstream sport windshield on it and it's very very nice.

    It sounds and LOOKS a lot better. The oem muffler looks like a trash can strapped to the bike. Hahaha. It does have a nice tone. I'm surprised how many people hear a loud bike and think it means it is fast and powerful. No, loud pipes not only do NOT save lives, they do not mean power, either, they just mean loud.

    Great video! Did you just replace the stock exhaust and put the Arrow on? Or did you re-map the system etc. I just heard of someone who replaced a stock exhaust on an R 1250 R same bike as yours with a Leo Vince exhaust and he reported that he lost 20% of his power and went back to the OEM exhausts and the bike rides better with stock. He did not want to put the money into remapping the bike and doing all of that. So, I would like to know how your bike is riding if you did not do all of those other things to it. I was hoping you would turn the bike on with the db killer in it and also afterwards I was curious about the sound with the db killer in the exhaust. Did you change exhausts for sound or looks or both? I am surprised that BMW would put an exhaust on like that I have heard many people including dealers not like it. Is there a reason you selected Arrow over another brand? Thanks!

    • @AmenCornerRider
      @AmenCornerRider  3 года назад +1

      Yes, it's a slip on exhaust, still have the Cat. No re-map needed. I did see Rikki Tang's vid on loss of power with his Leo. I have not noticed any loss of power, my bike runs great. And it sounds so good! So perfect to my ears. 😁 Main reason for the switch was looks. That silver can was HUGE, and I wanted black. Searched on 1250r forum and decided on the Arrow. I think I made a good choice. The BMW dealer installed it for me, no problems. Thanks for watching.
