If Shmee hadn't had any problem with putting any youtubers stickers then why did he make efforts to ask gumball about sponsorship of DDE and had just put the damn stickers

There's a lot of actual money involved in the rally.. the deals are negotiated months ahead of time. What might seem petty and irrelevant to you is a major investment and advertising opportunity for others. Nothing "mental" about it, just a bunch of idiots who cannot articulate the actual problem.
One of the best podcasts you've done Ben! I am genuinely one of Tim's OG subscribers and the memories come flooding back listening to this of when he had his 1 series, S5, AMV8, R8 V10, 12C etc etc and just how different RUclips was back then. I met Tim at Goodwood last year when the weather was absolutely appalling stood next to the Pagani Utopia in the Supercar Paddock and as a fan of his for literally half my life I was like ah sh*t that's Shmee. He saw me looking over at him and came over and said hello and spoke to me about his run up the hill. I was honestly a little bit starstruck 🤣 Honestly didnt have any idea how analytic he was at what he does. I know Sam and others say Shmee is a monster at what he does and can now see what they're talking about, amazing commitment and all his successes are well and truly deserved!

You purposely changed the sticker to your own brand and played Mr. I did not know , whilst you perfectly knew what was going on. The set of stickers arrived at your place , you just choose not to use them. You could have easily put on the stickers during the rally. But you also choose not too. You also avoided and did not wear merch year, Whilst every precious year you even video the merch day. It was simply too obvious. Yes DDE made a bigger fuzz than necessary but the people can see through your thoughts. It comes over as trying to outsmart, Being caught and refusing to admit. Timeline does not matter.
I’m a petrolhead, but I don’t follow Shmee…I know his content and it’s mostly not my cup of tea. But hearing Tim in this podcast showed a side of him I did not know. A really nice and genuine guy I must say. Also big respect what he has created so far with this channel.
i travelled over to Edinburgh for the start with my son, Shmee is a complete prick off camera.. he came down to his car and told people out loud there would be loads of time for meet and greets, me and my 7 yr old son stood by his car for 4 hours, he spent a hour rummaging through his car and chatting with his partner then done a brief video with about 10 takes, he left and came back a hour later and said again he will be back soon but after another 2 hours my son was really upset waiting and waiting but afraid to leave and we agreed he will surely be down for a quick picture before he leaves the grid...... he didn't, the only entitled person that sent a driver to bring his car to the grid.. there were loads of kids and fans waiting on him and he was only a couple of feet away but ignored everyone, very very bad form, even max stopped for a pic, dde gave ages talking with fans not blowing anyone off.. so many people on the rally spoke with fans except shmee, the camera comes on and he changes his presence completely.
Total snob. I waited for him with a HUGE group in Scottsdale, his “reps” asked us to be patient and he would be down for photos. He came to the car, ignored everyone, kids included, got in the car and left. Get fucked Tim, you aren’t some movie star or politician, you’re a car collector.
I feel like Shmee was completely caught off guard by Damon and Dave approaching him about the stickers. I would imagine Shmee wasn't giving the whole sticker thing much thought. Then DDE came across accusatory and Shmee was unprepared. In hindsight I wish Shmee would have said something like "If you are indeed a full sponsor, I apologize for not displaying your stickers. I will discuss it with Gumball management." And shook their hands.

Come on, you didn't even wear the merch and it all it smelled of jealousy that they're sponsoring and you weren't. When you watch that video it just looks like you're trying to worm your way out of it and especially when you offer to take their car in and do content, if you had nothing to hide then you wouldn't make that offer. All you had to do was put a sticker on a car and then you could have got clarity later, if they were in the pack then surely they were a sponsor and that would have been clear at registration when their branding was on all the promotional materials. So are we to assume that we'll never see you on a Gumball again now that DDE are sponsoring it, seems childish. Also calling DDE clickbait is a bit rich when half of your content is 'should I buy this ?'. I'll admit I stopped watching Shmee when half of what he comes out with is hyperbole and vitriol.
Unfortunately I’m no longer interested in the shmee150 channel, i watched very keenly as a fan for many years but unsubscribed a few years back. I did like to see videos as Tim even though i didn’t watch shmee & sad to say i no longer enjoy this too.. i don’t know if its the content, person or my just own personal taste evolving 🤷🏿♂️
This DDE excuse is absolute RUBBISH! Firstly WHY not just put the stickers on as soon as you found out? Secondly WHY would you think there was just a random youtube channel name amongst the sticker pack which was ONLY sponsor names stickers and think they wouldn't be a sponsor, that's just ridiculous to think they wasn't a sponsor too! Thirdly, literally everyone on that Rally were wearing the Official merchandise with the DDE logo on it, and Tim knew this, and made a lame excuse saying they didn't have his size! And then his whole team didn't wear a single item of the merchandise, did none of them have anything in their sizes? Lol that is so ridiculous to say considering every other team had the merchandise on in some way! Tim, you are not being truthful, you got your pride put out because they were a sponsor and you weren't! And when you got the backlash you realised your mistake and won't own up to it!

Now for all what shmee said, yes some of it is true, but lets look at what DDE has to offer. Right at the start of the European Gumball3000 did y'all see shmee wearing the gumball merch? not even a lanyard that they use to navigate thru the course and qr's for scanning hotels. It's a like a hypocritical problem throwing at DDE, but also DDE does do some stupid things like making that video, but my point still stands. Why did shmee not using the gumball merch? why didn't he put DDE stickers INSTEAD he uses his own stickers (now if this happens in racing world he's gonna get sued HARD, but in this case it's not)? Why did shmee not even give a single hint on why he is not joining the Gumball but straight up join some High class rally just to show off his collection? He then tried to lie to everyone saying he didn't realize they were a sponsor when the DDE sticker was sent with all the other Gumball sponsor stickers and every other car had DDE logo on it. Now he's trying to lie to us again saying he misunderstood when he had been on many Gumballs before and knows the deal with sponsor stickers. Gumball didn't just say hey we like DDE we're going to put their stickers on every car. Says he has the texts from Gumball but doesn't show us. Trust me bro it happened.
I've been following shmee since the mp4-12c days. I was attracted to how genuine and real he was in his videos and how he gets as excited to go these amazing adventures as I would. I met him briefly at SEMA last year and took a photo with him. I walked around SEMA for a few hours, and he was still standing in the same place talking to fans. I even sent him a DM on Instagram to see where I could go see the Zenvo and he responded and told me. I'm in the US and i find myself more interested in the UK channels like Shmee, Mat, and more recently I've been enjoying to a lot of your podcasts. I am totally jealous hearing about the times you guys have been at the pub having a chat. Keep up the great work, guys!

What he is doing here is turning himself into the victim. What he did was likely both legally suspect, if anyone wanted to take that far, and hugely disrespectful to both DDE and Max Coopers Gumball foundation. When i first noticed this my response was, oh Shmee, thats not right. I would have had more respect for him if he had come out and said i messed up, it was a poor decision on my part and i wholeheartedly apologise to DDE and Gumball. He didn't do that, he is a business man and had to have known this was wrong.
So DDE stickers came in a pack from Gumball, this was the second year DDE sponsored the rally, and he was told they were sponsors, yet he still decided to not include them on his car. He’s trying hard to politic his way out of this and everyone sees right through it.
You don't need to explain yourself. Anybody that's seen a DDE video knows they're clickbait and staged. "Hiring an actor to evict them" or "hiring a tow truck to take away their car" just about sums their channel up. Oh let's not forget the time they vandalised their own cars.
As someone who likes watching DDE, i dont ever take 99% of their videos seriously. They have shown that they will create drama for the sake of entertainment and to some point i dont care. Their builds and shenanigans with the cars are the only thing that keeps me hooked. Idk if i can keep watching after Mike and Tim leaves
I did enjoy their content for a bit but the videos are beyond staged. It's comical how often they get pulled over for speeding, and they never ever show what happens before they get pulled over, but the whole videos are them arguing with cops. They do it on purpose, it's a waste of everyone's time and I imagine quite stressful for the police officers involved having to deal with blatant liars. They never think about who they are hurting.

I'm sorry to say, but as much as DDE is all about the drama, Tim was storing Max's XJ220 in his garage. There's no way he didn't know that DDE was a sponsor and the stickers would have to go on. Even on their video, he alluded to them being competitors, then tried to backtrack. Poor move by Tim and he lost his credibility after that.
That's the thing, did DDE plan to ambush him for content, totally, but I find it very strange that gumball had no idea that DDE were sponsors of their own event. He basically has to release the video/emails now.

DDE is literally listed on their official rally sponsors page, so that's pretty bad that an employee doesn't know or can't even look up who sponsors their rally. Liar. When DDE confronted him after the rally he muttered words to the effect of ‘Why would I put a rivals name on my car?’ That was his initial gut reaction and answer to Damon’s legit question about the stickers being absent. The video is still on the DDE channel for anyone to see this. This is the real and sole reason for him leaving the stickers off. If he just admitted it he’d probably have kept some respect, the fact he continues to lie about it when the truth is so easy to see shows him for what he is. I used to like Tim. He’s a it goofy but he knows his stuff and is really informative about the cars he shows. He’s let himself down with this though, he should have embraced the DDE sponsorship of Gumball and plugged their channel. The door swings both ways and I’m sure Damon and Dave would have done the same and been open to collaborating with him. Yeah, he’s missed a trick there. Still, at least he’s got 20 super cars and is loaded, not all bad is it 😅

My favourite videos are always when RUclipsrs collaborate with each other. This feud with DDE make me feel like a child of divorce😂. Love the Matt Armstrong with Ben Collins and Nico and Tavarish and Chris Slix and all the other automotive RUclipsrs.
I lost all respect for DDE after the sticker drama. I get that they paid a lot of money, but it was obviously a misunderstanding that should have been settled privately. But the fact with how the RUclips game works now, is that drama pay's so it worked heavily in DDE's favour. I'm certainly not a pro Shmee150 fanboy, but the way DDE handled it was petty and childish. Full credit to Tim for not dropping to their level of posting dramatised videos over it, and just shrugging it off for what it was and trying resolve it.
It was not a misunderstanding. Hundreds of other cars had the exact same livery. Same sticker pack, same everything. Its organized, it was overseen. Yes he had installed them before hand, but he recieved them and didn't put them on. He chose to not put them on. That's the end of the story. He was also talking shit around the gumball rally about not putting the stickers on. Several attendees have attested to this. DDE could have made it even worse. But they just simply asked him. And he back pedaled with excuses. There is a reason most of the people at Gumball don't associate with Schmee and are working more closely with DDE. And its not just money.

he was given multiple chances to add the decals going forward in the rally, Tim actually contradicts himself multiple times during that end of rally video, he goes from saying they never had them to it's a misunderstanding, to then suddenly "why would I put a competitor's name on my car". Unfortunately that's arrogance showing at best, what you do going forward is how you show yourself to be the bigger person.. instead Tim took to snide comments and digs, perhaps just like the DDE boys did too, but he had an opportunity to correct things. Lets also not forget how Tim and his team handled the Mr JWW situation created by Harris, Tim had no problem with slamming a fellow creator for the same business that he does himself, and yet after many other creators apologised the Shmee team stood firm with their original comments.

I don't understand the value of McLaren F1. One business partner owned one and its value was less than a million. It wasn't nothing unusual and way cheaper than boats for example. Now the same car is extremely expensive.
Two guys bought up a good few, they sold to each other at auction artificially inflating the cars value. Before you know it real buyers are happily paying £20m

I really enjoyed this Podcast ... Been following Tim since the early years, because that's the only way you can see an exotic car out in the wild back then, and its humble to see how someone with a similar background as I in education (maths/physics ... love for analytics) as evolved into what Smee150 is today. As for Ben, I've been following for over a year now and keep up the good work!
at the end of the day if shmee had just put the stickers on that were in a specifcily given sticker pack and not guessed around non of this would've happened. and then you can use the SVJ as a argument with the missing of stickers, but you never heard anything about that meaning it was probably planned with gumball. and then his argument about hiring actors or whatever, this had happened with the old HQ which is already a long time ago. no one liked it so Dave apologized and they went on with their day, then they got steven who was a bad guy but in the video where they cought him it got alot of backlash cuz its was too much drama, so they deleted it and told us they'd never tell us about such stuff anymore. so sure back in the day they did some drama stuff but you cant use that as an argument anymore now.
DDE overall has a love-hate relationship with their audience. They are loved for their crazy builds and ideas that they have and how they drive their cars. But they are hated for all the ridiculous amounts of fake drama suspense and clickbait content they make. And all the shady stuff they do BtS. Not to mention how they treat their fans like gullible idiots. And what really bothers most people is how they only buy cars for the YT content and not the passion and they immediately sell them if it doesn't get enough attention or if the project has peaked. One of the best podcasts you've done Ben! I am genuinely one of Tim's OG subscribers and the memories come flooding back listening to this of when he had his 1 series, S5, AMV8, R8 V10, 12C etc etc and just how different RUclips was back then.
I met Tim at Goodwood last year when the weather was absolutely appalling stood next to the Pagani Utopia in the Supercar Paddock and as a fan of his for literally half my life I was like ah sh*t that's Shmee. He saw me looking over at him and came over and said hello and spoke to me about his run up the hill. I was honestly a little bit starstruck 🤣
Honestly didnt have any idea how analytic he was at what he does. I know Sam and others say Shmee is a monster at what he does and can now see what they're talking about, amazing commitment and all his successes are well and truly deserved!

I’m a petrolhead, but I don’t follow Shmee…I know his content and it’s mostly not my cup of tea. But hearing Tim in this podcast showed a side of him I did not know. A really nice and genuine guy I must say. Also big respect what he has created so far with this channel.

i travelled over to Edinburgh for the start with my son, Shmee is a complete prick off camera.. he came down to his car and told people out loud there would be loads of time for meet and greets, me and my 7 yr old son stood by his car for 4 hours, he spent a hour rummaging through his car and chatting with his partner then done a brief video with about 10 takes, he left and came back a hour later and said again he will be back soon but after another 2 hours my son was really upset waiting and waiting but afraid to leave and we agreed he will surely be down for a quick picture before he leaves the grid...... he didn't, the only entitled person that sent a driver to bring his car to the grid.. there were loads of kids and fans waiting on him and he was only a couple of feet away but ignored everyone, very very bad form, even max stopped for a pic, dde gave ages talking with fans not blowing anyone off.. so many people on the rally spoke with fans except shmee, the camera comes on and he changes his presence completely.

I feel like Shmee was completely caught off guard by Damon and Dave approaching him about the stickers. I would imagine Shmee wasn't giving the whole sticker thing much thought. Then DDE came across accusatory and Shmee was unprepared. In hindsight I wish Shmee would have said something like "If you are indeed a full sponsor, I apologize for not displaying your stickers. I will discuss it with Gumball management." And shook their hands.
He knew full well only sponsors get stickers, he could have asked Damon directly since he stickered them before eveyone else.

Come on, you didn't even wear the merch and it all it smelled of jealousy that they're sponsoring and you weren't. When you watch that video it just looks like you're trying to worm your way out of it and especially when you offer to take their car in and do content, if you had nothing to hide then you wouldn't make that offer. All you had to do was put a sticker on a car and then you could have got clarity later, if they were in the pack then surely they were a sponsor and that would have been clear at registration when their branding was on all the promotional materials. So are we to assume that we'll never see you on a Gumball again now that DDE are sponsoring it, seems childish.

Now for all what shmee said, yes some of it is true, but lets look at what DDE has to offer. Right at the start of the European Gumball3000 did y'all see shmee wearing the gumball merch? not even a lanyard that they use to navigate thru the course and qr's for scanning hotels. It's a like a hypocritical problem throwing at DDE, but also DDE does do some stupid things like making that video, but my point still stands. Why did shmee not using the gumball merch? why didn't he put DDE stickers INSTEAD he uses his own stickers (now if this happens in racing world he's gonna get sued HARD, but in this case it's not)? Why did shmee not even give a single hint on why he is not joining the Gumball but straight up join some High class rally just to show off his collection? Fact of the matter is he broke the terms and conditions of Gumball because he has a problem with DDE. He then tried to lie to everyone saying he didn't realize they were a sponsor when the DDE sticker was sent with all the other Gumball sponsor stickers and every other car had DDE logo on it. Now he's trying to lie to us again saying he misunderstood when he had been on many Gumballs before and knows the deal with sponsor stickers. Gumball didn't just say hey we like DDE we're going to put their stickers on every car. Says he has the texts from Gumball but doesn't show us. Trust me bro it happened.
I've been following shmee since the mp4-12c days. I was attracted to how genuine and real he was in his videos and how he gets as excited to go these amazing adventures as I would. I met him briefly at SEMA last year and took a photo with him. I walked around SEMA for a few hours, and he was still standing in the same place talking to fans. I even sent him a DM on Instagram to see where I could go see the Zenvo and he responded and told me.
I'm in the US and i find myself more interested in the UK channels like Shmee, Mat, and more recently I've been enjoying to a lot of your podcasts.
I am totally jealous hearing about the times you guys have been at the pub having a chat.

What he is doing here is turning himself into the victim. What he did was likely both legally suspect, if anyone wanted to take that far, and hugely disrespectful to both DDE and Max Coopers Gumball foundation. I would have had more respect for him if he had come out and said i messed up, it was a poor decision on my part and i wholeheartedly apologise to DDE and Gumball. As someone who likes watching DDE, i dont ever take 99% of their videos seriously. They have shown that they will create drama for the sake of entertainment and to some point i dont care. Their builds and shenanigans with the cars are the only thing that keeps me hooked. Idk if i can keep watching after Mike and Tim leaves
I did enjoy their content for a bit but the videos are beyond staged. It's comical how often they get pulled over for speeding, and they never ever show what happens before they get pulled over, but the whole videos are them arguing with cops. They do it on purpose, it's a waste of everyone's time and I imagine quite stressful for the police officers involved having to deal with blatant liars. They never think about who they are hurting.

I'm sorry to say, but as much as DDE is all about the drama, Tim was storing Max's XJ220 in his garage. There's no way he didn't know that DDE was a sponsor and the stickers would have to go on. Even on their video, he alluded to them being competitors, then tried to backtrack.

When DDE confronted him after the rally he muttered words to the effect of
‘Why would I put a rivals name on my car?’
That was his initial gut reaction and answer to Damon’s legit question about the stickers being absent.
The video is still on the DDE channel for anyone to see this. This is the real and sole reason for him leaving the stickers off. If he just admitted it he’d probably have kept some respect, the fact he continues to lie about it when the truth is so easy to see shows him for what he is. I used to like Tim. He’s a it goofy but he knows his stuff and is really informative about the cars he shows. He’s let himself down with this though, he should have embraced the DDE sponsorship of Gumball and plugged their channel. The door swings both ways and I’m sure Damon and Dave would have done the same and been open to collaborating with him. Yeah, he’s missed a trick there.
Still, at least he’s got 20 super cars and is loaded, not all bad is it 😅

I lost all respect for DDE after the sticker drama. I get that they paid a lot of money, but it was obviously a misunderstanding that should have been settled privately. But the fact with how the RUclips game works now, is that drama pay's so it worked heavily in DDE's favour.
I'm certainly not a pro Shmee150 fanboy, but the way DDE handled it was petty and childish. Full credit to Tim for not dropping to their level of posting dramatised videos over it, and just shrugging it off for what it was and trying resolve it.
It was not a misunderstanding. Hundreds of other cars had the exact same livery. Same sticker pack, same everything. Its organized, it was overseen. Yes he had installed them before hand, but he recieved them and didn't put them on. He chose to not put them on. That's the end of the story. He was also talking shit around the gumball rally about not putting the stickers on. Several attendees have attested to this. DDE could have made it even worse. But they just simply asked him. And he back pedaled with excuses. There is a reason most of the people at Gumball don't associate with Schmee and are working more closely with DDE. And its not just money.

he was given multiple chances to add the decals going forward in the rally, Tim actually contradicts himself multiple times during that end of rally video, he goes from saying they never had them to it's a misunderstanding, to then suddenly "why would I put a competitor's name on my car". Unfortunately that's arrogance showing at best, what you do going forward is how you show yourself to be the bigger person.. instead Tim took to snide comments and digs, perhaps just like the DDE boys did too, but he had an opportunity to correct things. Lets also not forget how Tim and his team handled the Mr JWW situation created by Harris, Tim had no problem with slamming a fellow creator for the same business that he does himself, and yet after many other creators apologised the Shmee team stood firm with their original comments.

He's told the lie and story so many times he's started believing it as the truth. You could tell throughout that Gumball that Tim was annoyed he was getting overshadowed by DDE.
I have seen the fan filmed videos from Edinburgh and DDE were complete and utter a-holes, they could have spoken to Shmee and the drama would have been settled before they even set off on the 1st leg.

I don't understand the value of McLaren F1. One business partner owned one and its value was less than a million. It wasn't nothing unusual and way cheaper than boats for example. Now the same car is extremely expensive.
Two guys bought up a good few, they sold to each other at auction artificially inflating the cars value. Before you know it real buyers are happily paying £20m

I’m a premium RUclips subscriber so don’t want to sit through an enforced add in the middle of content. Absolute legend I loved dde until the sticker gate although I still watch the folks at dde and enjoy there content o lost some respect for them due to what happened. Iam not a huge car chug or wasn’t until I started watching Dde Matt and shmee and Chris slix now I don’t miss beat with the vid. Hopefully all the issues have been resolved you guys are insperation to the younger generation of car enthusiasts and content creators. Great interview

I really enjoyed this Podcast ... Been following Tim since the early years, because that's the only way you can see an exotic car out in the wild back then, and its humble to see how someone with a similar background as I in education (maths/physics ... love for analytics) as evolved into what Smee150 is today. As for Ben, I've been following for over a year now and keep up the good work!

at the end of the day if shmee had just put the stickers on that were in a specifcily given sticker pack and not guessed around non of this would've happened. and then you can use the SVJ as a argument with the missing of stickers, but you never heard anything about that meaning it was probably planned with gumball. and then his argument about hiring actors or whatever, this had happened with the old HQ which is already a long time ago. no one liked it so Dave apologized and they went on with their day, then they got steven who was a bad guy but in the video where they cought him it got alot of backlash cuz its was too much drama, so they deleted it and told us they'd never tell us about such stuff anymore. so sure back in the day they did some drama stuff but you cant use that as an argument anymore now.
DDE overall has a love-hate relationship with their audience.
They are loved for their crazy builds and ideas that they have and how they drive their cars.
But they are hated for all the ridiculous amounts of fake drama suspense and clickbait content they make. And all the shady stuff they do BtS.
Not to mention how they treat their fans like gullible idiots.
And what really bothers most people is how they only buy cars for the YT content and not the passion and they immediately sell them if it doesn't get enough attention or if the project has peaked. Like they finally built the KB43 huracan and then they just sold it to Houston despite being one their greatest builds.

Damon clearly love cars but at the same time this is their business and ho they support their families. If drama and clickbait don't sell they wouldn't do it, and tbh many car youtubers do the same thing to make money.

the difference is DDE are sponsors and collborate a lot with Gumball, Max and James, if they had an issue with DDE they would have brought it up

Unfortunately if you look at the past...who has a history of drama with other channels and creator's ? Based on that fact alone we can easily give Tim the benefit of the doubt ... BUT....both parties could handle this better now
