In Baritone Ukulele Jazz you'll learn over a dozen jazz standards (including "It Had To Be You") with step-by-step video lessons with Yours Truly. I mean, the world knows you have the uke thing DOWN man, but your voice is just stellar. It would be a voice to love with any instrument. You got hit with the double whammy stick of greatness!!!
Thanks for the kind words, April. 😊
It would be fantastic to hear how you come up with your arrangements, James. Man, it must be like solving puzzles. Also, probably very addictive :-)
I started on guitar and fell in love with ukulele but baritone is the best of both in my world now ❤️
You and jazz chords-what a combination. ❤️
James!!! I love this song and you are soooo ...just better than the rest ❤️❤️❤️
One of the best ukulele players on u tube.
Never heard jazz on ukulele before, this is nice
I'm happy to open that door for you, NohzyBluezy!
Loved the scat/lead playing. I know he didn't invent it, but I got a John Pizzarelli vibe from that.
And another piece of evidence that James is the GOAT 🐐. Sounds soooooooo good 😊
Coming from Neal Chin, that means a lot! 😊
@@jameshillmusiq It's a dream to play with you one day! Always an inspiration 🙏
Oh James! That’s amazing! You are amazing! Thank you for this beauty ❤️
dear James, your playing and singing of this is so soothing and beautifull. Thank you!
I am working on Ukulele Jazz and the Ukulele way, still at the beginner level, but was never into Baritone so far - but now I will take the chance and get the Baritone Ukulele Jazz too, even if I don‘t have a Baritone myself by now ❤️🎶🧿
Wonderful~~~ Jazz on a Ukulele .
Beautiful love song. 🌹
In an alternate time line George Harrison in his later Ukulele period runs into James Hill and they make an amazing album together.
Its always so fun watching in listening to you play❤
Wow, the ukulele sounds are good with this song. Love the chords patterns! Thank you for sharing. Im def will practice this!

Fantastic rendition of this beautiful jazz standard.
I Love this! James what mid priced baritone Uke would you recommend?
Nice! Is that a Pat Megowen ukulele?
Yes, it is. Good eye, Jane! :) patmegowan.com/
Absolutely superb vocals uke playing and presentation! Do you teach?
Thanks, John. Yes, I teach all day every day at www.uketropolis.com. Hope to see you there!
Do you mind sharing what mic(s) you are using? Beautiful stuff!
More uploads please 🙂
Alveg geggjað maður!
But on the more serious note - you have hight d?
Yes. Good ear! I prefer the high-D sound on bari. Dark yet sweet.
so if you change your strings to fatter shall your wife change to upright bass? pheew, just asking...........................oh lord....
off course its James Hill who hipsters with only the -string wound: for jazz: ha ha, for ultimate jazz hipsterism, sounds more correctomo! Im aging, so just ordered 2 cheapo Stagg Baritones, and tenor strings( I hope theyre long enough!) Im a guitarist and remember my tenors sounding awsome n being sensitive to climate change, but I heard Marco Cirillo playin baritone ukes, and the romance in me took place, love ya James, love! Hi james! May i ask what brand and model of your ukulele?
Hello James, I'd like to ask you something about the course "Baritone Ukulele Jazz". As the tone is DGBE, I'd like to know that in the teaching videos, what is the sound of your fourth string? Do you usually use low D or high D?
Good question. In the course I tune high-D, G, B, E because I’m focusing on chords, singing and a bit of improvisation. The high-D tuning really gives a sweet, jazzy sound (which is why uke jazz legends Lyle Ritz and Benny Chong were drawn to it). But you can still take the course in low-D tuning, no worries. There’s a 30-day guarantee so try it and see if it works for you! www.Uketropolis.com/baritonejazz
@@jameshillmusiq Thank you for replying me James! Wow I really love your course and also I've attended the class yesterday. Now I'm one of the official members of the ukulele community! Actually I was a guitar lover, who just played some pieces of fingerstyle songs but didn't know much about the music theory. As I really like Jazz and you also provide the systematic and great way of learning ukulele as well as the fact that it is such a pretty instrument..., I feel very happy to join you. Now I just bought a baritone ukulele online with the tuning of GCEA (I think it is really special to own a baritone and I love the gentleness and versatility, but it's hard to find the way to learn it from the beginning as the learning resources for it are quite limited, so I changed the strings into GCEA). I will receive it after Christmas and New year I think, which will be shipped from UK. Can't wait to see it! Though I don't actually hold one ukulele yet, I managed to see all the videos of "BOOSTER UKE" today, which is absolutely fantastic!! I really like your teaching style, and the method differentiating from a traditional way, they are very useful! I've looked at the catalog of all the courses, and listened to some of the broadcasts, we can really learn a lot. Here I have 2 questions~~ is the "Ukulele X" focusing more on ukulele fingerstyles? (I found that you've shown how to play ukulele percusson in Billie Jean, it's so cool!) Also, will there be any possibilities that you will open the course about Jazz Standard songs in Ukulele fingerstyle in the future? (Like some from Lyle Ritz's version, for example, how to play "Fly me to the moon", or "Lulu's back in town" with more bonus! ~ ) Ooooh I also want to thank you! Fooor leading me to the doorway of exploring this beautiful instrument~~!
I'm so glad you asked this - by the looks of the strings, I thought this might be high D!
So when do we get the James Hill Solo Jazz Bari Uke Album?
Or a trio combo. Id take some bass uke and light drums too. ;)
Nice idea! Maybe one day…
👍👍👍🎸🫶
Swoon
Do you perform with your wife?
