I've done videos on chemical and biological warfare in ICBM, talked about 20-inch guns on end in Dreadnoughts and now covering Sea Power which has all sorts of military jargon. Either I'm on the watchlists already or they've stopped caring at this point xD.
The green circle on the map when you select SM-1ER for firing shows the guidance range by the best over-horizon radar that the launch platform (in this case, the Coontz) has, similarly the blue circle represents the worst radar guidance range, out of the blue circle, the missile will loose its guidance and act as a dumb fire missile. So effectively, the range of SM-1ER is the blue circle, after that, the missile has no guidance and will probably miss the target. Note: when you click the missile, it shows linked to the ship even after passing the blue circle, but it's not, i have tried it myself. Nice Content ! KEEP UP !!

@ sure they are, once them ships from PLAN get near to the border, and received the order from the authorities, we resemble the crew Including the one who’s on vacation, getting every single one of the crew onboard. going through a process called M-lock which is normally take 12 hours before underway. And that’s because Knox class frigate is powered by boilers.
Just a thought, if you paused the game and then issue the fire orders to each ship, they will fire simultaneously. This would at least allow salvos of two harpoons out from two ships with a single launcher.
Walleyes are tv guided glide bombs (as the reference says now that I'm reading it), and even their original versions had a 30nm range. I wonder if the game treats them as having a range based on the release altitude or the distance of the datalink which was 45nms.
I uploaded a video of this scenario just today in my channel where you can see that, in my experience playing, Walleyes are dropped at a point decided by the plane altitude and speed, which is much lower than the depicted top range circle in the map, which is also consistent with how those weapons operated (the higher and faster they were dropped from, the longer reach they had).
It would be really cool if you could play this coop with a bunch of players. You could assign individual ships or even airgroups to a player. As they rank up they could have a bigger command.
Played this mission today. Kept having a repeated bug where the shore based SAM sites were spawning in the middle of the Strait and caused all sorts of issues positioning my aircraft. Lost a couple of my harpoons to the SA-8’s and then the rest got downed by the Udaloy. Was challenging for sure, but got there in the end, just had to close to within gun range.
As the creator of the mission I keep hearing this but have not been able to repro it to fix it... at this point I think it's something bug-related in the game I have no control over! There is no unit spawn location randomization in the editor so I really don't know why this would be happening unfortunately :(
I was wondering if it might be better to re-designate a group as neutral or unknown if you need to set your ships on Weapons Free, but you don't want them to hammer that group quite yet.
I have a lot of global news feeds on various platforms that I am subscribed to. I had to stop and look carefully as I was scrolling down my subscriptions. Hahaa. Need to get around to watching this playlist now.
It’s good that fuel time isn’t modelled yet because having all aircraft just jettison their tanks just because they need to engage a target is pretty dumb. Having your air superiority flights go from an hour of play time to 15 minutes just because they had to launch a missile is insane.
@Stealth17Gaming 19:46 - I feel like another option would be to come in high: The stat card on those enemy missiles said their max ceiling is only about 13,000 ft...
5:40 I'm fairly certain you can give your formation weapons free for air defense in the formation orders area without giving them full on weapons free for everything
Interesting for a taiwanese (ever tried to create this). Not sure if it's possible to have F-104 and much more equipment in China (like type 051, a lot in Cold waters), also JSDF to make the scenario more interesting
Loving Sea Power so far... except when i have to face off against a Kirov... It's alot more practical with the NTU mod adding in the late 80's/90's refits to the US ships which include the beautiful Mk.41 VLS system.

@@Stealth17Gaming Thank you! Are the weapons realistic? It seems that Soviet weapons are in optimum condition, which granted they were but not all of them
I'm surprised the lone Fencer didn't engage with anything. After a few misses at max range with the sams I would have probably just vectored in the Corsairs since they weren't doing anything other than burn fuel. I also wonder if they kinda cheat with subs. Reloading the tubes does take time, sure, but are you telling them to load Harpoons or do you get to launch either a torp or missile as long as the tube is loaded? Also speed changes when it comes to cavitation; I wonder if the game is smart in having the sub accelerate gradually as it gets deeper.
@@Magicannon_ it is a bit of a cheat. You have access to either 4 Mk48’s or 4 Harpoon’s at your whim. Each tube fired incurs a flat time delay. And yeah, subs will always try to be at their maximum speed without cavitation unless they’re radiating in which case it’s ignored. If it’s at PD and you give it flank, it will stay below cavitation. It’ll then start increasing speed to flank (or below cavitation speed depending on area depth) once it’s dived deep enough.
For sea power, how do you make it on the editor so that you can see and view the enemy group? Also, how do you fire the Tomahawks from Virginia cruisers and Iowa battleship? My ships just do weird maneuvers but never fire for some reason.
Go to the game settings and enable 3d for unidentified. That will allow you to see the group. Tomahawks can be launched like you launch any other weapon: click on the weapon in the bottom bar and right click on the target
Random question: is there any way to make the overlay windows stay the same size after you resize them and come out of the mission/scenario and then go back in? I know it's EA and such but it's really messing with my OCD.
@ I just played the desert spear scenario for a little. Didn’t take any damage but I’ll let you know later on. I’ll play a mission that you have to take damage and see how it does. You should check out that scenario too. Really long but really well laid out carrier ops.
