10. As many other jobs as possible, as soon as possible.
Yeah I agree. I always thought they should use robots to build Moon and Mars bases. I mean why put humans at greater risk, when you can build everything remotely before anyone goes to the Moon or Mars. They could also clean up Chernobyl and Fukushima.
Pizza delivery
Who needs jobs anyway
It can't help in construction of space stations. Why? Elon said that it can be used for repetitive tasks only. Whereas, construction of space stations require a lot of complex and non-repetitive tasks. So, using this same reason, it can't help in building Moon Bases, Lunar Cities, Mars Bases and Mars Cities. Space exploration is a very complex and non-repetitive process, so, it can't help in space exploration. Yes, it can be used in subterranean tasks. No, it can't be used where radiation is a threat because again nuclear science is a complex and non-repetitive process. No, it can't be used in security or policework because policing is a very weird field actually because police need to interact with humans and act accordingly, I don't expect it to be able to effectively communicate with humans while policing and BTW karens also exist, so... Yes, it can be used in the mining industry and in the manufacturing of almost all consumer goods because some consumer goods are too hard to manufacture. No, it can't be used in the construction of homes because architecture is a complex and non-repetitive process.
I think you're overhyped about this. This isn't something godly, its just 1 step to a super advanced artificial intelligence which can replace all non-creative tasks in the world. For now, Tesla Bots can only be used in repetitive tasks such as manufacturing, packaging, in shops and all sorts of repetitive labour can be replaced by it.
But there's 1 MAJOR problem with Tesla Bots, umemployment.
@@kumarvedansh5767 New technologies, (like robots), always start out with very basic, limited uses, but very quickly they evolve into a technology far more complex. When cell phones first became available, they could not take pictures, could not "text", could not do ANYTHING except for place a voice call. Flash forward a few years and we now have cell phones that can do more than we would have ever imagined. In fact, a single smart phone now has more computing power than a 1951 computer the size of a skyscraper. The same technological revolution will be true with robotic technology and automation.

@@user-nw8jr1dk9p the person said AI so that's what I corrected. Could you elaborate on what you're referring to with "real world" AI ?
@@coin5207
But tesla is all about real world AI .
a real world artificial intelligence means AI capable of any object recognition, and understanding the surrounding world .
AI you could take to an unknown, unmapped location and it would be able to navigate, or be able to learn how roads work there by itself .
Ai that would be able to learn from mistakes, and improve itself, in real time , based on real world events .
Amazon isn't a real world AI .
Google is not a real world AI .
My English isn't great , but I hope you get the point.
Google and Amazon may have the most advanced AI (maybe )idk, but it is certainly not advanced at all when it comes to the real world .
They are not focusing on real world AI .
@@user-nw8jr1dk9p Maybe this got lost in translation a bit, but your definition of "real world AI" seems a bit sketchy. When I searched the term on google I didn't find anything besides it being the title of a book on Amazon. And even there it seems to be more about AI being deployed in real world "products" as opposed to simply being limited to physical machines such as self driving cars or robots.
So when google maps is using AI to recommend you the fastest route that is a program utilizing AI 'in the real world'. When Amazon recommends you buy someone that's a real world product. When Facebook is recommending new friends to you that is about real people.
All of these systems get better the more information is provided to them, as is typical for AI. They aren't attached to physical machines that can chase you down but I'd think they can also be exploited, e.g. using AI based facial recognition (like the one Facebook uses) to find people who don't want to be found.

It's important to understand Elon Musk's mindset. While he says explicitly AI is dangerous to humanity, he feels he has the responsibility to get to its manufacturing first, because it's gonna happen anyway, and it can fall to the wrong people. So I don't find it weird that he warns about AI, and works really hard to get his hands on it first. Wether you trust his intentions or not is another story.
@@ems7623 Who are you talking to? I don't understand how your comment attributes to anything that I have said.
1.Who said I'm comparing robots to an AI? How did you get the idea?
2.I haven't said anything or even thought about robots being a threat if they're shaped like humans. Why would anyone think that?
3.I barely watch movies, and my understanding of AI is independent of what they depict in movies. All I just stated come from a deep understanding of how AI works, and how it's dangerous if falling to the wrong hands. It also most likely could be the case that you may have the wrong idea about AI because you picked what they usually depict in movies, and by that you, you misinterpreted what I meant in my comment. It's dangerous in a way that is never depicted in any movie. An artificial intelligence can recognize patterns that humans are not aware of and can be used by big companies for who knows what, and you see its dangers today if you don't live under a rock.
What's your point?
"Three Laws of Robotics"
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

Why is this giving Detroit vibe
If it can do the cleaning, shopping, and help me carry stuff, I'll happy pay 15k+ for one.
I'd happily pay $30,000 for one, that's what I pay for a new car. Frankly, in theory, an intelligent enough robot could just drive my existing car so it also is self-driving and people already paid 20,000 for self-driving.
@@JB-zn9ql the self-driving computer is the same computer used in this robot, and this robot honestly does not have very complicated mechanics. Boston Dynamics can build them for about $40,000, I'm sure that in 10 years you could probably get one of these for about $30,000, with the self-driving computer built-in that does all the AI processing. To be fair this is not going to be something like from irobot, at first it's just going to be very simple. It will be like having a 7-year-old kid who can do repetitive tasks for you. Things like picking up a wire and twisting them together repeatedly, maybe washing the dishes, something that can be learned since in algorithm to wash dishes is not much more intensive than driving a car...
It really just depends. Realistically 30 to $40,000 is very doable.
@@JB-zn9ql the first few Tesla prototypes cost over 5 million to build, and now they're down to 35 or $40,000. At first it will cost millions of dollars and the likely get the cost down to about 30 or $40,000. Of course, it's actually going to be about 10 years until AI gets to the point where they can do these kind of tasks, right now they've barely touched ai. They've almost completed their self-driving, and it's roughly on par with a human driver now, which means it's almost ready for release. But it's going to be a while before they learn how to develop various tasks quicker.

You do realize there is a huge difference between regular AI, and Sentient AI. Tesla is not developing a Sentient Robot.
@@cory6294 I do realize that, yes. But putting it in a humanoid robot form regardless of the level of AI is still off-putting to many, and can be a slippery slope for the future.
I put a bowler hat on my robot.
I like how when reading the description of the Tesla Bot, he completely just didn't care to state that you have to be an engineer to apply. Hehe...
Everybody gangster until your Tesla bot gets hacked and start shooting up the block 😂
Correlation: he did not say "friendly" and at that speed it runs faster than 5% of the population..
This is actually crazy. My initial thought when I saw the thumbnail was this is a joke.
I don't think it s possible in a year, often musk announce products too early with impossible goals, maybe in 5-10 years,in a year maybe they can do a very basic prototype
@@alessandrogualtiero4541 did you see what Boston dynamics did a few days ago????
It is a joke, despite the massive media hype he has no prototype and used a dancer to demonstrate what the robot would do. Even then, Boston dynamics worked on atlas for over 5 years and musk promises an even better robot by next year? It’s all baloney.
@@keyboardguru4212 even better? In what ways is he promising better? Also Tesla’s been working on automotive AI since it was founded. Much longer than Boston dynamics
why is your mic positioned like that?
one step closer to the neko-girl we all really wanted
ew
It looks like a department store manikin that has come to life. A lot of people find manikins terrifying, and will be freaked out by the concept of them moving.
5mph?
"Better run better run, faster than my bullet..."
Bot: bullet? ...such old tech...look what I just created........
@@davidstuart4915 its a song XD
And the robot is the one with the gun singing it.
@@HalkerVeil .....quietly withdraws to local pensioners convention......
5mph with level 2 self driving... its going to kill a bunch of people... maybe they should get help from Waymo who actually have self driving cars on the road for years even since back when it used to be a google project.
I’m all for it! We just needed a big commercial company to get into robotics to drive the innovation forward! Where Honda failed, Tesla can pick it up and give us iRobots of the future! Exciting to see how far this goes.
Boston Dynamics? Making robots since 1980.
is the T1 version?
So, this is how it ends
This is part of the beginning montage of the future documentary
I wouldn't mind downloading my brain into one and going to Mars.
You probably mean uploading.
@@Lone-Lee bet your fun at parties
@@atticuswalker8970 you probably mean 'you're'.
Btw, I have almost never attended any party ever in my life, so I don't know if I'm fun at parties.
Oh ffs, he's doing it again....
Yeah, he should get his robots to build him the Hyperloop.
Just imagine waking up one day in the dark and see this standing at the foot of your bed.
No more coming home after a long day at work and hearing "You have to take the trash out".
No more long days of work either.
I stead of having it do boring repetitive tasks which sounds like it came from marketing team, have it be a personal assistant to the disabled, paralyzed, blind etc. Then it would be very useful and sell well and be more economical than a human helper.
It won’t have the intelligence. That’s coming, but it will take multiple generations of commercial robots.
Ie- It’s very difficult to program a robot that could so much as make a cup of tea.
identify cupboard.
identify counter.
Identify path to cupboard.
Avoid obstacles.
Open cupboard.
Identify cup.
Remove cup.
If counter clear then place cup on counter.
If kettle status is “on counter” then identify power outlet.
Identify faucet and tap mechanism.
Retrieve kettle, avoid obstacles, approach tap.
Activate faucet. Fill kettle to 250 millilitres.
Deactivate faucet.
Place kettle.
Identify plug.
Etc… etc…
There’s about fifty advanced steps for a machine that already is advanced in its programming and dexterity. Just to make a cup of tea in a partially pre-mapped kitchen.
It will be at least ten more years for a concept this “advanced” to be in wealthy households.
Doing a repetitive, specific task like drilling rivets into pre-programmed locations over and over? Yup. No problem.
It is coming, but there’s a small wait!
@@Y2Kr4SHM4N true. It sounds easy yet it's so complex.
I want it to be able to change the brake pads on my car, and beat the last level of Paper Mario
This is just marketing. Their cars are a "semi-sentient robot"?! By that logic, ALL point-AI solutions are semi-sentient and ALL cars are robots.
Tesla bot needs to do space exploration out to Mars!
AI can learn; willing to bet it’ll learn how to sprint.
yeah but its technical limit, you can't fly no matter how hard you try, the robot's motors probably have a limit so it can't go past that
@@ravel1 that’s actually a good point
This is probably a gimic like almost everything Tesla and Elon puts out
It can probably inhance its speed because its mechanical,
Halo fans would be mad.
how much is it going to be
That laughter you hear is coming from Boston Dynamics.
Let's put them in charge of everything, I'm sure they will do a better job than Congress has done in the past 60 years.
Tesla Bot for president 2030!
We might not sic them on the Taliban but will the Taliban sic them on us?
Just do my homework and i'll be happy.
I was worried about my Roomba taking over now we have this.
Lmfaoooooooooooooooooo he got me for a sec with the dancing 💀
I just want one to do my house chores and monitor my health when I'm old and feeble
This robot would be perfect to do jobs in the hospitality industry. Everything from waiting, and busing tables to cleaning rooms and making beds.
What happens to the human workers?
Do you really think the sector that pays starvation wage to the employees will buy these expensive robot for one function that is to serve food to customers l
@@petrichor259 It all depends on what they cost. If they cost a million each - no, but if they cost what they would pay a person with wages and benefits in a year then maybe. The benefit would be they wouldn’t need to worry about the bots calling in sick, leaving work to go to a protest or L & I claims.
@@mrnonpc9885 so, still you guys are not willing to increase wages huh...Other countries have higher wages but still fast food chains offer good deals on food. If they can do it , why cant your country do it? Of course your country is not for the people but for corporates and men filled with greed.
I wonder if we could use this as a BJJ drilling dummy… perhaps a roll buddy.
Cut grass, shovel snow, world domination, trim hedges......
I’d make it get me a beer anytime I needed one then I’d force the bot to drink one with me lol
Tesla bot opens can, takes a sip, the beer runs down it face and a puddle of beer on the floor. Bot says "mind if i smoke" as it bursts into flames 🤣
Reminds me of Toonami Jetstream
Ill have my Teslabot roll my blunts to perfection
Tesla Bot explained: a guy in a slimfit spacesuit dancing to charleston.
