I started stacking because I wanted it as a hedge for inflation and "junk silver" to barter with. As I continued my stacking journey, I began to realize that bartering with metals was going to be difficult, if not impossible. Your video showed that. People need to understand metals; only 1% of the US population stacks. 99% probably have never seen, let alone, held a gold or silver coin. If a true SHTF scenario occurred, no one would accept my metals as payment for goods unless they happened to stack themselves. When stores reopen and potentially accept metals, is when the rest of the population will seek an understanding of their value. But in an initial collapse of government or society (Highly unlikely to occur), people will want goods and services to exchange with, not metals. Just my opinion. Truth is... no one knows. Better to prepare than not prepare at all.

Not only does the general public not know the value of silver and gold, they also don't know the value of the US$. They still think that it has the same value that it had years ago and it doesn't.
Farmer's markets are more likely to be open to trading crops for silver. Flea Markets are filled with people who bought stuff on sale and want to sell it for more than they paid. It's a cash
business and trading introduces another step that they aren't willing to take at this time. But they will learn when the US$ hyper-inflates or collapses that US$ has no real value and they
will be needing something that does.

You might say something like “silver spot price is $27 an ounce, would you take 2 oz for these items?”
For those businesses bartering goods for silver, I imagine they would the note profit made for taxes and then have silver at spot without paying a premium. Sounds like a great deal as long as the they have cash to run day-to-day needs.

There is another point you are missing. Even if a person knows the value of an ounce of silver, he probably has no idea how to verify the purity of coins or bars being offered. Most people will be suspicious if offered a counterfeit $20 bill but will have no clue about verifying gold and silver coins. If you ask around at the flea market, you may find 1% know what a touchstone is. Then, how many of that 1% could explain how to use one?
If paper currency collapses, people will only be willing to trade with "stuff" they know the value of at first. Food, fuel, medicine, clothing, etc... It will take some time for people to learn the value of, and how to verify precious metals.

That didn't happen in 2008, and although it happened in 1929, the government took control and artificially suppressed metal values. They will not have that power now that the globe has broken away from the dollar. Our corrupt government's only weapon was oil but those cartels are being broken. That was a smart move to go to the flea market to illustrate your points of view. You would think that a flea market would be predisposed to barter. Certainly every vendor has that discretion. Though with the age of 24/7 news, things could take a sharp turn almost overnight. Just ponder escalating printing of fiat dollars, bank failures, wars, inflation, etc. Though the big deal would be credit seizing up or freezing. Then the only thing does vendors at the flea market would take would be silver, bullets, even food or services as a barter.

This doesn't surprise me. Most people right now only want USD. Once it hyperinflates, they won't even want it then. Cash is what it takes to do business.

Yeah I would expect people to reject barter of any kind it. Although most people don’t see gold and silver as money, I would definitely take it. I think fiat has been the norm for so long that generations have not passed down the knowledge of gold and silver as the true form of value.
They sure have been thoughtful enough to pass along hate and prejudice however.😳

Here's the thing, While people are still ignorant of real money... it takes people like this guy to go out and seed silver in their minds as a secondary medium of exchange. Otherwise if we just sit back and hush up about money there will not be that second medium of exchange...

If there is a major collapse or shtf scenario, bardering with gold and silver will not work until the rebuild starts, we will be trading products like food water supplies ammo and silver will be last on that list. Just something to think about but when the rebuild starts then the new currency will be silver and gold and at that point it will dominate.

I'm not sure what your camera chest rig looked like, but it apparently was noticeable. I have a feeling this may be putting people off. When they see you are recording them, they are reluctant to agree to anything unusual, like bartering for metal. They might think you're some sort of government agent.

Excellent video, I’ve never tried it because I’ve never wanted to get rid of it 😂 but in SHTF times I’m afraid money won’t be the immediate trade. Food, toilet paper, and clear alcohol, I.e. vodka and gin will be the immediate currency. However, people will quickly realize true value in metals when they learn they will need it when debt collectors come knocking
    Great Job 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I needed some extra cash once at a flea market and had silver to offload. The first person I approached was an older guy in his 60`s and he happily purchased some eagles off me at the going rate of the LCS. It all depends on who you`re dealing with and a person`s needs and desires. Maintain relationships with the locals in your town.

The way I see it, they are foolish for not educating themselves. I bet they would have made an extra 5 bucks or so worth of silver on top of the barter with you in the trade. For example, the guy with the mags, I bet you would have given him a one oz round in comparison for one mag. However, they are firm on their stance because they are worried about losing money in a trade and being deceived somehow. It's wild how many people don't know the current value of precious metals! They just know it's "valuable" and get excited when the news tells them it's hit a new high 😂!

Hate to say but 🐈 is prob gonna be the most widely acceptable commodity for trade for many people in the crash. An unlimited “treasure” trove. I wish I had one 😢 the WORLDS oldest bartering tool. I hope some of you guys are stocking food tho so the rest of em can use their G&S. The best stacking one can do is food, later traded for everyone’s G&S later. The DCA would be phenomenal. Lotta risk/ gamble BUT if it goes down you’ll spend a gold gram on a box of spaghetti and a jar of meat sauce to feed your fam. That’s $5/ gram 😮 get you some of that! 💪🏻😎👍🏻
