As a few people have said, approach slower and get your tail down as soon as you can. The Zero's hook has a very shallow angle that it hangs off the tail, so a very "tail down" approach is a must. Well done in the dogfight!
Practice makes perfect, you will get it with time. Again, I appreciate you showing the mistakes, it makes it feel more real, like I am following the career of a new pilot learning from his mistakes, very refreshing. There is something about IL-2 1946, its nice to watch.
Didn´t quite *stick* the landing there. While some people have already offered advice on that, I´d also recommend throttling up once you think you have caught the wire since if you actually have caught it it should hold you down and if you did not catch it you should be able to go arround. Obviously only applicable if there are no other aircraft on the deck.
Buggering off on your own like that (over the target) certainly makes for a more interesting video, but your flight leader is going to scream at you like there's no tomorrow once you get landed...
Nice episode, so the war in the Pacific has begun, the infamous "day of infamy" has occurred and rather aggressors have begun the war against the US forces in the Pacific. First day in the Pacific gifts you with air to air kills as well as air to ground kills, great start to a career indeed. So.. Pearl Harbor has been attacked.. and imperial conquests begin throughout the Pacific, this is going to be very interesting indeed.. welcome back to the sky, your skills are truly fantastic, just be sure to always check the tail.. that's what always saves me in my own campaigns. Rough landing in the water, but hey.. don't worry about it, carrier landings are always unforgiving at first, takes a bit of getting used to, I always hated carrier landings as a kid and now.. can do them by heart. Just keep doing them and you'll master it, I know you will. Looking forward to the next episode, fly safe my friend and happy hunting 👏👍
Your approach speed is too high on these carrier landings, that's the main reason you cant' stick them, it should be around 130 - 135 kmh There is a Zero training mission in IL2 where you can practice carrier landing.

I mean you succeeded in not breaking your gear so this is a win.

Definitely getting some practice in 😂
Don't want to be pedantic but if it's Ironman...wouldn't this be the end of your campaign? 😅 since the ship would've run you over
If I was very strict about it then yes. I just like to avoid deaths being due to wonky stuff, like getting run over by my own carrier 💀💀💀
