I agree, PXG, sponsor this man, he's plugging you seriously, and has almmost 50k subscribers and 1,000s of more viewers weekly. He's definitely worth it. Cheers.
I had this done for me. Unbelievable service. I went to a pxg fitter near Bristol with a set i got off them online. I fitted myself using a mizuno head and then ordered them. School boy mistake mizuno lie angels are flatter. Plus i have a longer shaft so the swing weights will be different because pxg swing weighted them properly. So when came they didn't feel right. I did play quite well with them . But they felt a bit light. So i phone pxg and they book me in for a fitting which was very good. The fitter said i need them 2 flat and changed the swing weight for D2.5 to D4. Then pxg arranged for them to be collected from my house and back to them. It took 1 week to get them back. Because I did not get fitted by them and it was over 30 days there was a cost £55 for the service. Which I thought was a unbelievable price for what they done for me. Try getting that from other golf companies. No chance. Thank you pxg
I had an issue with hosel on my pxg driver about 2 years after buying it. I contacted them and they picked it up from my door the next day sorted and sent it back in a week. Service was unbelievable. Still nothing to this day has beaten it on a fitting and its now 5 years old.
I got fitted by Connor at Esher …. Driver, Irons and Wedges in separate fittings. I’m a 9 h’capper and the clubs transformed the way I play. Great experience and the clubs themselves are superb.
A good informative video explaining the fitting process and what you were trying to achieve. Will be interested in an update when you have had them out on the course for a while
Dan, Great video. I had the exact same experience here in the States. I too was hitting the irons off the toe and felt the irons were too flat. I went back to the PXG store, confirmed that the lie angle needed to be 2 more degrees upright and had it done immediately in the store. PXG wants to have completely satisfied customers and is why I am drinking the PXG Kool-Aid!
If you haven't tried PXG you don't know what you are missing. I like Dan moved from forged muscle backs ( 7i 34*) to PXG 0311 P gen 3's . They are amazing, longer, better dispersion, higher ball flight & better spin, oh & they feel & look great. Glad you never gave up on them Dan.
Been seriously considering going for the PXG irons after really enjoying my Gen4 0311 X driving iron. Take another look at the experienced RUclips cameraman action at 22mins 35 secs….didn’t even need to look at the camera👏🏻👏🏻
I have to say dan that was a great video and while you may of got a little bit extra because of the video,it was a great service I’ve never heard any other fitters offer just the recheck of the fitting maybe you can get this done else where but it certainly isn’t advertised. So spot on for PXG for that service, and I certainly think it should be offered by other fitters,as I’ve said in the past you won’t always get things spot on first time.
Great video. It is nice to see the option to go back for a spec fit. I am interested in there Gen 7 irons and this service could be the deciding factor.
Hi Dan another great video, It’s strange for me because l’d really love to have a PXG fitting and I really like the look of their clubs, but I’m really hesitant to do it. I had a bad experience with PXG sometime ago when they were really expensive, they just didn’t work for me and I lost over £2000, I suppose I’m just frightened of repeating the experience.
As a golfer in my early fifties, 7 iron is my longest. As a keep getting older I think more about one length shafts in the irons only. With PXG different models and abilities to adjust the head weight, I feel they might be a great option in the future.
You see this more and more now people have fittings and then only find it doesn’t perform for them on the course . So Dan you had a driver fitting , found it wasn’t right on the course so started messing about with shafts. Then you had some irons fitted and again wasn’t getting on with them so had to return again for another fitting for them 🤷🏽♂️ there’s so much encouragement out there to get properly fitted. A fitting is only as good as the person doing it . I see so many company’s and brands have a fitting process and the staff doing the fitting are just not qualified / or experienced to do it properly! you spend lots of money on equipment that makes you worse because of a poor fitting. So many golfers now experience poor fittings and there’s not many top fitters out there who really knows there stuff. Just remember a fitting is only as good as there person doing it . Just because you pay for a fitting doesn’t mean it will be right unless someone who knows what there doing does it
I went for a ping re fit. I thought the DG 120 s300 shafts were to heavy for me. Turns out i wasn't swinging the club I was lifting it and throwing it down. I got my coat and left...all good now 😂
I'm always sceptical about this sort of thing. There's no way your swing has changed that much since you were last fitted, so it's almost as if they got it wrong or they were pushing you into a different shaft or set up to boost their own revenue. I'm pretty sure every club manufacturer does this, so it's not a criticism of PXG specifically, but things shouldn't change that much from the first time unless they got it badly wrong initially. I would love to see you get down to Precision Golf, they're the best in the business and see what they put you in. Either way, this stuff is always fascinating to watch so thanks Dan.
It wasn’t that huge of a change though. .5 of a swing weight and 1 degree difference in lie. I hear what your saying, but atleast they didn’t get him in a completely wrong iron and shaft. I got fitted in May and I’ve already completely changed my entire setup. Mainly because the kid that fit me, wasn’t thinking about where I was coming from, how I was hitting the irons he tested me in, and where I could end up. So I had been away from the game for 15 years. I got fitted into p790s. However during my fitting I was maxing them out, which is good and bad. It’s hood cause ultimately that’s what you want. It was bad because I was just returning after 15 years, so it left me zero room for improvement and growth. So I’m now moving into P770/CB combo and went from MMT 105 S to TX which is a huge difference in flex and 8 grams of weight
I always thought if you weaken the lofts of irons you open up the face, we are talking degrees here so potentially only millimetres. But from this spec check it does seem to make a difference coupled with the swing weight issue.
I think your main issue is the DG shafts. The Dynamic Gold profile is quite different from the PX shaft you have in the Titleist irons. I suspect the bit softer tip of the DG shaft is deflecting more and so you need slightly more upright lies compared to the PX Titleist setup. Did you test PX shafts in the PXG? PX shafts are always launch monitor darlings for me.
Your stock irons were two flat. The PXG has tungsten in the toe so I’m not sure why that also had to be two flat - physics being what it is the extra weight will make it easier for the toe to hit the ground. Have not gotten to the end but surely they will work better at one flat or even standard lie?? Having now gotten to the end I like that PXG offer this service since they appreciate in the studio and out on course might, occasionally, produce different results
Interesting Dan, I had a fitting for 0311 Gen 7 P and found that I was hitting them more toward the toe when I received them. Turns out that the PXG 7 iron (with stated std 7 iron length of 37’’) actually measured shorter than my Mizuno MP223 irons, which are also states standard length at 37’’. Going for a re-fit at PXG and trying 1/2’’ longer (37.5’’ 7 iron in PXG’s world) bought strike back into the centre. I’ve now been playing with them for a few weeks and they are fantastic. The PXG and Mizuno 7 irons are now the same length side by side despite one manufacturer stating 37.5 and the other 37’’. Just wondering if you looked at the length as compared to your Titleist blades? It could be another factor in you favouring the toe with the PXG’s.
I give them 1-2 months before the MBs back in the bag😂. He always says he wants a little help. But doesn't like the help. Just suck it up Dan go to the gym get stronger😂
A genuine Dan how did they balls up the original fitting so badly? Seems a heap of money to splash out if it doesn’t work? People with busy lives aren’t going to be able to drive for hours to get changes when it’s taking up time on the course
One of the prettiest golf swings on RUclips 👍 I'm still slightly confused fundamentally in the end you had identical numbers and performance to your titliest mb ? I get you want a tad more forgiveness but a player and ball striker of your level is rarely not out the middle which you proved when you picked your blade up and stripped it straight out the centre instantly. I always think a player like yourself with so much feel benefits from that punishing off centre strike because you will instinctively make the small adjustments needed in your technique to find centre again it keeps you in that sweet spot rather than masking a timing issue and you not knowing about it because you have lost no performance. Just my take on it......Great video though 👍
For me, having a fitting and confirming things out on the course can vary. However with PXG they can make most of the mods right there in the store, gladly and without hesitation.
I have to say that the original fitting was absolutely woeful. This is why I have never wanted to try PXG. Seen and heard lots of poor fittings from them
@ makes sense. I just really enjoyed watching that Titleist fitting. I liked that you could hit more than one iron instead of only one and then hope the others work for you. Best wishes!
Why in the world would you go back to a weaker 34° loft from the stronger 32° that comes standard in the PXG 0317 T? Especially when you were stripping the D2, 32° loft, and 1° lie PXG 0317 T 7i spec? You will lose 5-10 yards in distance, with the weaker 34° loft configuration ... I'm certain you will have everything gapped properly ... so just it doesn't make sense to me why you wouldn't want to keep pace with the distances that most PGA pro's are averaging ...
@@DanHendriksenGolf have you considered a higher spin ball (Pro V1, TP5, or Chrome Tour X) along with stronger lofts? Could provide spin and distance? Thanks for answer my question!
@ I play the x ball John, I just believe that we need spin for control, the more spin we have the better, we can all chase distance but you need a strong short game to go with it 👍
So wouldn't moving the lie angle 1 degree up drop swing weight by 1/2 a swing weight ? 2 degrees up or down is equal to 1 swing weight if I recall correctly. + or -
Come on PXG, just sponsor Dan already 😂

Interesting to see the process & certainly top marks to PXG for their after sales service

Having access to the fitting centre looks great. Looks like there are so many more options than doing it in a fitting bay at a range.

I didn't even watch this yet, just clicked and the adds are on. I've been waiting for this one.
Tbh. The PXG irons look and remind me of the old TaylorMade Irons from the early 2000 Tour Preffered days.
I liked Connor’s comment “out on the course, it would’ve been great to get you straight back in”
I always thought if you weaken the lofts of irons you open up the face, we are talking degrees here so potentially only millimetres. But from this spec check it does seem to make a difference coupled with the swing weight issue.

Beautiful. Time for another WITB?
Great service 😉👏👏
Would think you could get this from all fittings BUT are they up front about it or would you have to push for it? PXG certainly making waves.
Head design has to considered in lie Angle. More weight in the toe of a club will pull lie Angle down.

Great volg Dan where is the PXG fitting centre
Hi Dan, got me wondering how they did not get right for you first time around, s you would have given them the same details.?
That’s exactly my reaction
Sometimes our swing is a bit different to our average. Also at Dan's level he would notice a slight difference. That's why they have tour vans!
Gen 7 XP 0311 in build soon to be in the bag!
👌
Genuinely a interesting video, but I’m a little confused as to why you choose the original configuration from the initial fitting ?
Interesting Dan, I had a fitting for 0311 Gen 7 P and found that I was hitting them more toward the toe when I received them. Turns out that the PXG 7 iron (with stated std 7 iron length of 37’’) actually measured shorter than my Mizuno MP223 irons, which are also states standard length at 37’’. Just wondering if you looked at the length as compared to your Titleist blades? It could be another factor in you favouring the toe with the PXG’s.
Good point.
Where exactly do I send my Cheque to have Dan send me his swing ??
I hope they traveled well.
I give them 1-2 months before the MBs back in the bag😂. He always says he wants a little help. But doesn't like the help. Just suck it up Dan go to the gym get stronger😂
Is it not the case that when you weaken lofts it also affects the bounce of the club.
RBZ must stay in the bag….
A genuine Dan how did they balls up the original fitting so badly? Seems a heap of money to splash out if it doesn’t work? People with busy lives aren’t going to be able to drive for hours to get changes when it’s taking up time on the course
It wasnt badly at all... The tweaks were minor that most folk would be to inconsistent in strike to even notice..

So, the boy's will be calling you Dan "laser" Hendricksen from now on?
Without going into too much explanation, going flat in your wedges that are weaker than PW might be more advantageous in a multitude of ways.
So you did a fitting and you couldn't play with them?
For me, having a fitting and confirming things out on the course can vary. However with PXG they can make most of the mods right there in the store, gladly and without hesitation.
How much did Dan influence the first fitting instead of letting PXG do their job?
@@paulmcgee1867go and watch it, and you can tell us.
I wouldn't say that, it is most likely that I am not used to an indoor simulator and may have been doing unusual things in my swing.
@pschilleru
Sure, but that's true for most golfers isn't it?
I have to say that the original fitting was absolutely woeful. This is why I have never wanted to try PXG. Seen and heard lots of poor fittings from them
Goes to show how important a proper fitting is just changing lie angle what a difference
But he did get a proper fitting from the same guy the first time around 🤷🏻♂️
Hmmmm…..1 deg lie change did the trick, the improved feel came from more centre strike, changing sw by 1/2 point was unnecessary?
so you didn't like the titleist irons anymore?
I do, just want so help with the mis-hits 👍
@ makes sense. I just really enjoyed watching that Titleist fitting. I liked that you could hit more than one iron instead of only one and then hope the others work for you.
