Thanks for bringing PXG testing to the masses. Not many doing this.
Had the extreme dark 0317T irons for the last two weeks, and they are easily the best irons i have ever played!
HI I had a fitting today in Florida , I have had at least 4 sets of PXG irons all 0311T version , was disappointed the did not make another set in GEN6 , until I today when I tried the 0317 T 's . Just like you have said they are really soft , longer on distance than I expected , ball spin was higher and diversion was really tight. Ordering a set really soon . I also put them in the Steel Fiber Black Shafts 70 R , which I was hitting a 80 S KBS Graphite Shaft . Felt so much better. I am a very god iron ball striker , with pretty long distance , I thought these may have been to much club for me but boy was i wrong. The Shafts were the key to the fitting !!!!!!!!
These are amazing irons. If you get fit and dial them in, very hard to beat. For 10 handicaps and better, these deliver. Really enjoying them. Mine are fit with the C Taper shaft. Very precise combo. Tight dispersion with these. Very consistent on distance. They’re compact, but comfortable, not tiny.
😂 they def came in hot. I think it is a bit pretentious but they're sick irons. I have the 0317 st and they're buttery, dare I say close.......to my mp20's 😮
When I saw these and heard that they were looking at distance control with that different polymer fill vs all out distance like some of their other irons, I immediately thought of the Ping i-230.
I thought the same, I have been eye balling the i230s and curious how the two compare. I have never really been a fan of pxg but these might push me over the edge
I have had the Ping I230’s in the bag for the last 6 months. Great irons, very consistent on distance control. I recently bought a set of the PXG 0317T’s. I was curious about these so I ordered a set in the exact specifications as my Pings. The PXG’s are a touch more forgiving than the Pings. My miss is hitting the ball out on the toe. The PXG 0317T’s have a 15 gram tungsten weight in the toe. I didn’t lose any distance on toe hits. I can work the ball with the PXG’s. I would definitely give these a try if you’re a lower handicap player (single digit).
Can you compare these vs the 0317cb irons on a monitor? Plus side buy side pics. Im loving my cb irons but the T look so good. Thanks keep up the great vids
I have the Gen 6 and they are fantastic, I am now going to blend some 317Ts, can't wait to get them
Reminds me of my old Taylormade MC irons with the large screw in the centre rear....
Yes definitely from a visual but the MC wasn’t a changeable weight which is key to the fit process
I played gen 2 gen 3 and the latest 0211, which i liked the best and feel forged. I Need to try these as well. Love PXG coming from a Mizuno player lol.
If you are playing the 0211's....then clearly you need a forgiving iron (which these are not). These are essentially a blade.
@@MXJEFF94Yes, I have been playing the new 0211 for about a week to try them out. Since the average golfer game the glowing review... But... like I said, I have been using pxg Gen3 players and Gen2 as well as Mizuno mp62 mp25 and mp63 in the past, which rewarded me with my 2 holes in one. So these will be not an issue.
Damnit Andy now I’m going to have to go try them out . Great job as always
It would be interesting to see how they compare with the Takomo 101T or the 301T irons.
Thanks for the video. Maltby beat them to it with the new TS1 I-M irons. They are insane forgiving and tiny profile. Insanely forgiving. You will be blown away if you try one. I’ve always loved PXG , I own a few sets. I also love Miura, cobra forged tech were awesome. But nothing like the new Maltbys. And very reasonable pricey plus they look insane. Try ‘em out, I’ve never seen anyone review the new Ts1 I-M irons but I would love to see it.
Those Maltbys do actually look great. I need to go hit them sometime.
@@AL_1547they absolutely shocked me sir. First Maltbys I’ve ever hit, and they look soooo much better in person then the pictures. I purchased the 5 iron to test, was blown away, then ordered the full set and they are just butter, tiny irons. The forgiveness on mis hits is something else. Same ball speeds as my cobra forged tech but literally half the size.

So how do these compare to the 0317 cb and even the new Titleist t150? Are they more forgiving or less? Other than filling the head with goo what exactly are these irons in comparison to above?
Found these quite forgiving vs t150 and similar. Surprised how forgiving they are for the look of them
0311p vs 0317t.which one for Distance and forgiveness ? I dont work the ball. But like a good feeling club. Thanks

How do these compare to forgiveness and distance with new t200 from titleist or 150 if that’s better comparison?
It’s a great question that I don’t have the answer to as yet, I will try them side by side but would compare to the T150 and not the T200

That would be a great comparison video. I too have been a big fan of Pxg irons in the past and games the gen 4 0311p and 2019 p790 prior to that and they blew the p790 out of water imo. Recently, switched to combo of titleist 350, 5-6 and t200 7-pw. Loved the 150 but just not enough distance or forgiveness for my skill set but I don’t like the longer or bulkier roll irons which is why didn’t switch to gen 6 as blade length longer than I acted for. So this is very intriguing

Fun stuff Andy! How would your rate the distance/trajectory of the 6/7 iron vs the P790? I am guessing slightly shorter based in the 1.5 degree weaker loft. I thought ordering the PXG with a two degrees stronger loft. I mirror your distances with most all clubs. I don't want to die up the distance of the TM but want the PXG feel and looks! They look incredible !
Yes these are definitely not as long as the P790 but I was surprised that they were longer than I expected them to be based on lofts which led me to think ball speeds were impressive
How was your trajectory? I may just make it stronger or just add the 5 iron and play one club longer?@@TheAverageGolfer
@@steelhead3139 maybe a little higher again based on loft but I selected my iron based on being only slightly shorter than my GEN06 and got on course yardage about right

No I wouldn’t say better Rico, lots of similarities but I always stayed away from the T models due to lack of perceived forgiveness and I am not afraid to play this model at all, so maybe more forgiving but could also be change in mentality from myself 🤷♂️ sorry I can’t provide a more definitive reply

I've been using the Gen 3 0311T for a few years and still really like them.
For me they feel better and weirdly more forgiving but that’s an observation based on 3 days play, maybe a just hit them well, I found them as forgiving as my GEN06 P

You mentioned the profile is different from the P770. How is it different physically? Im also curious about the why players sould choose the CB over this and vice versa. Will you do some comparison videos?
I think they are more compact than the P770 and for the same reason why I would choose over the CB and they are more forgiving IMO
Love the look of the PXG's, but would have to go w/XP'S if and when.

I think a more classical shaping and oddly more forgiving based on my three days of testing

I just don’t like PXG because how they came into the market years ago. All the people who play them act like it’s a cult. I’ll stick with my 770s

Loved the look of the king tecs(2022). And actually had them as they said they would be good for lower mid HC players, but just wasn't consistent w/them.☹️ Ended up w/the Callaway DCB's. Had to put my ego aside. Hope your playing well w/them ?🤞
