Bajan ( Barbadian) here and I loved this interview from Wodemaya. I love your channel and your authenticity. We in diaspora need to learn about each other that is why I love channels like yours and Wosemaya's
Prime Minister Mia Mottley is a woman deeply rooted in her African history, roots and culture, just like her uncle Elombe Mottley & the 1st. Prime Minister of Barbados Errol Barrow. She is one of the Caribbean high powered lawyers, former Atorney General, former Minister of Culture, to name a few past portfolios, and is Now the Prime Minister holding the portfolios for Finance, Economic, Trade & Investment. By the way Wode Maya was just joking when he said he is Rihanna's cousin. It is awesome that Wodemaya and Miss Trudy meet up with her to help create those links and bridge the gap between Africa and the diaspora. We'll done and hats off to Wode Maya & Miss Trudy for getting that interview with a very down to earth Prime Minister.
The prime of Barbados is the greatest leader in the world. Little Barbados is uniting the black world. As a kittitian 🇰🇳.i can tell you Barbados is making the Caribbean proud. Fighting against the oppressors and colonizers and at the same time uniting the black diaspora 🇰🇳🇧🇧 ❤
🖤💛💙 I love Aunite Mia, she is very popular international and loved. She isn't afraid to speak on injustice and very Caribbean/Africa centered. Caribbean leadership is united on our African connections but everything depends on the market. We need to fix regional transportation too.
Bussa was an African captured and enslaved in Barbados 🇧🇧. He led a slave rebellion and was unfortunately killed. I was enamored with the statue erected for him on the island 🏝 because he is gazing at the sky, hands up with broken chains ⛓️ on his wrist in a fighting stance. It's powerful reminder of the history of how modern Bajans descend from African ancestors unjustly enslaved who fought for us to be on the island of Barbados 🇧🇧. Bussa fought to the death. I traveled to Ghana, Africa 🇬🇭 to pay homage to our ancestors at the slave castles that were brought to Barbados shores unwillingly. I saw Bussas statue there. So touching!
Guys, As a person in the diaspora, Maya brought me back to all this African connection..been six years now when he was in China,'s streets, speaking Chinese, and showing them pictures of African cities..
One step at a time, a little here, a little there, and the black race will totally connect. Big ups, to the Demouchet family. You're doing a great job as well. You're part of the puzzle, and you need to be proud of that.
I have enormous respect for our Iron Lady. The leader of Barbados is working hard to bridge the gap and undo the damage being done by some agents,no need to mention names or groups. Right now more African countries do not require visas for certain Caribbean nations to visit. My own country Zimbabwe allows visa free for people from Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados. Also Africans should visit the Caribbean to network and build partnerships in business, trade etc.
Loved this video when I first saw it. I am a Black American of Bajan descent. I also have travelled to the continent. There are many commonalities within the diaspora. The squabbling amongst us only serves them not us.
Barbadians are 99% like Ghanaians- Character wise. I hv few ones here in the UK and the bond, connection/chemistry is surreal. Very calm, humble, easy going, higly spirited- Amazing how most still believes they are Ghanaians (The land was once called little Ghana 🇬🇭 )
That's most interesting! Considering that more of the heritage of the Bajan people are of Nigerian ancestry! While there were without doubt captives brought out from modern day Ghana, there were by far more brought from the areas known as the Bight of Benin and the Bight of Biafra which are in Nigeria! It is a sad and painful history regardless, but it is nice to see these "connections" being sought by Africans and the Caribbean nations today! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
@9uhxhghi800 Please 🙏🏾 check history, before you out to spew ignorance...I beg of you. There's a video 📹 by Bardados PM attesting to that old saying... The great leaders who led the revolution agst the British, the likes of Kofi,etc.. Please do your research... Look out for the speech in Ghana's parliament by the PM. I'm only here to help educate..
0:31 @kofisugar you should check your history. Barbados was never called "little Ghana". It was called Little England by the English settlers. You can even check Google.
I love both of you.. I just discovered two of youYour reactions, please keep covering Africa.. Again, lots of our Families returnees in Liberia were from Mississippi , Georgia, &Alabama..too.
THIS IS WHY I AM SO HOOKED ON YOUR SHOW. MAY YOUR MARRIAGE BE LOVE EVERLASTING. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY WITH THE WORLD. WODE MAYA IS A GREAT AMBASSADOR FOR EVERY BLACK PEOPLE.
The next head of the UN will come from the Caribean and The Prime Minister of Barbados is a prime candidate. She cares about the unfairness in the world and she is a very smart lady.
Yes I saw that. He’s doing his thing in the Caribbean and although I’m not as familiar with her, the people seem to really love her and it’s rare to see that for a leader. But also, just from this interview she seems like a very down to earth and genuine person. They chose a good person and kudos to the Bajan people for that. Side note: My great great grandmother and grandfather were Motleys, we have a huge family. I wonder if there is a relation.
What if this new urge to unite Africans across the continent and in the diaspora is in harmony with divine plan? Could it be a fulfilment of the prophesied regathering of the 12 tribes mentioned in the Bible?
Could be! Africans are awakening worldwide and it is for the good of humanity as a whole we are the original people the creators of civilizations it is definitely divinely planned
How do you feel about ADOS/FBA/Freedmen/Blk Americans saying to not talk or do videos about you all? However, you all are free to do videos and/or talk about us in the Caribbean & Africa?
Thanks for watching! Be sure to like, comment, & subscribe!

She's brilliant , a joy to see a black lady as a leader of her country.💗
Prime Minister Mia Motley has my utmost respect. Her strength and leadership skills exude the confidence that every leader should emulate.
Also Wode Maya said he met Rihanna’s cousin. He went to the house where she was born and met some family members.

Maya is from Ghana (West Africa) and his wife, Miss Trudy, is from Kenya (East Africa). An unlikely, but perfect, couple.
African around the world should unite and connect

Barbados was never called Little Ghana!!! It stands to reason th English slavers would never have allowed it. They called it "Little England" instead!
Great reaction by you both. I enjoyed your positive and open minded comments
Well done wode as usual. You are uniting us, well done Mia
Barbados really went above and beyond to show hospitality and friendship to these young people.

No he is NOT related to Rihanna. It is a joke from one of his previous Barbados videos when he was visiting the house where she was born.

Thank you for your words brother!
Maya is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and he's an electrical engineer by training.
It's just a joke he likes to tell people about being Rihanna's cousin since he visited her childhood home recently.
From Africa, to the Caribbean, to Europe, to North and South America to Asia, black will unite
Yes bro
The next head of the UN will come from the Caribean and The Prime Minister of Barbados is a prime candidate. She cares about the unfairness in the world and she is a very smart lady.
To become Head of the UN, you have to have had a career working within the UN. They don't appoint people from outside the organisation
The Current UN Head was an ex-Prime Minister of Portugal?
She's also a cousins with to Michelle McKinney Hammond the author/ the preacher/ who has settled in Ghana.
Absolutely correct . You guys are representing. Tell them pls...and kudos to y'all
