The only good way to do this endo skeleton is for there to be diecast joints - just because of the design, structure of the figure itself. NECA did a good job making it back in the day. Mafex did a decent job for x2 the price.
The Neca one uses really cheap feeling plastic and is easily as brittle as the Mafex one. It’s a shame that no company has made a truly great version of the T-800 in 1/12 scale.
In all fairness, the endoskeleton doesn’t exactly lend itself well to a 6 inch figure. I think metal would be the way to go at least where the joints are concerned.

Thanks for the early review! I'll be grabbing one for sure; especially knowing what to be careful with. My fave Endoskeleton has always been Aoshima's version. It needs a paint wash, but it looks almost as good as this. I was wondering about those ankle joints at 4:50... I'm guessing they'll need initial massaging to ensure the joints aren't stuck up in the shins 😅 Thanks again.
Thanks for the review. For the cost, I am disappointed, the color for the start has to be chrome and not this metallic. QC for mafex was always expected bad, so I kind of was anticipating these issues which you mentioned. Are there any diecast parts or its just plastic?
Shame there's no butterfly, considering the design was made to show that one exists in-universe where those big cutouts on either side of the chestplate are. But I guess from an engineering standpoint, getting all those tiny pistons to actually work at this scale would be cost prohibitive, not to mention it'd make the figure even more fragile than it already is. Great review, as usual.
@@kiralord8588 I may have to check out some reviews, then. I usually avoid NECA stuff like the plague, so although I was aware they made a Terminator endoskeleton, I never payed it any attention.
The same happened to my copy, the left ankle was broken out of the box; it looked like it was broken at the factory and they glued it in or something. What I find disturbing is that it turns out there is a swivel at the shin right under the knee, it's almost as if it was designed with the expectation that the ankle would break at some point, and that people would have to end up gluing the foot back (which I have, myself), and the swivel would still allow you to turn the foot if that happened to you. Also, if you look closely at the pictures on the back of the box, the ankles on the photos look like both of them have been broken and glued back (the pegs aren't as visible). So either it was photoshopped on the back, or it was designed with this in mind as a contingency which is upsetting on its own.
Sorry to hear you had the same issue. What could have been their finest achievement will go down as one of their biggest fails. All it takes for a company to lose the trust of collectors is a few botched releases in a row. We’ve now had two….

I was really surprised at the scale difference between these and the neca endos. I just assumed Necas were 1/12th scale. Overall I’m really liking the proportions and the details. I’m not a huge fan of the fingers… they are too thick and look more like T1’s, but I guess skinnier fingers would be more fragile so I can live it. From the waist up it’s great. Down…not so great
@KaijuDaddyJapan look at the face... its horrible. And he has an over-bite lol. You can see from the side view. Would have been nice to have LED eyes though atleast
Are there any 1/12 scale figures out there with LED eyes? The batteries alone would be the size of the head. Don’t see how that would be possible.
