What an amazing video from someone documenting their experience finally getting into Metroid! My journey started with Fusion since I had an ambassador 3ds and I remember putting it down so many times before finally beating it almost 6 years ago. That was my entrypoint into the franchise and ever since Metroid is what I'd consider to be one of the franchises on my Mt Rushmore of gaming. The series has never been the easiest to get into, but once you do get into Metroid it's one of those series that really makes you take a step back and realize how monumental each entry is. I was only a year and half old when Fusion released and now that I'm almost 21 is when the story is finally getting it's conclusion that's been 35 years in the making. Really can't wait for Dread, and I'm glad that you're able to join the hype train as well :)
@@KotBox I know that after playing all those Metroid games and with Dread around the corner, you've probably had your metroid fill for a while. But if you're unaware I should bring up AM2R. It was a fan remake of Metroid 2 in the style of Zero mission and I consider it my second favorite game of the series. Metroid fans tend to be obnoxious about either hating Samus Returns or AM2R, but they are both masterpieces in their own right. Just thought I'd bring up AM2R in case you were unaware since I feel like it is an important piece of Metroid history and if you liked the other games in the series you should do yourself a favor and play it sometime. The project was 10 years in the making and after releasing it the creator was hired to work on the Ori games. Having 2 fantastic remakes of Metroid 2 is really nice
Awesome video! Just played through Dread and can't stop thinking about it, and this video gives me a good direction of where to go next to ride this Metroid wave!
I love zero mission because besides the first chozo statue you can skip all of them pretty much. You can even skip the long beam if you know where to shoot it’s just fun knowing all the route breaking areas
I also discovered Metroid thru Smash Bros 64. After emulators started to be a thing, I downloaded Super Metroid and was blown away by the sheer awesomeness. I recently played thru all mainline titles in preparation for Metroid Dread. October 8th can't come soon enough!
Dude what a great video! Your production quality has improved a lot! My favorite is definitely Zero Mission, it's the best to sequence break and you can just pick it up and finish it in an hour!
It really would be nice if this resurgent wave brought on by Dread holds. I've always thought Metroid deserved to be the third Pilar of a Nintendo trinity alongside Mario and Zelda. Seriously, for such a ground breaking genre definer, it's almost criminal how how many droughts this franchise has been allowed to go through.
@@KotBox Time will tell. Metroid looked like it was breaking out once before with the Prime trilogy, Fusion, Zero Mission, Hunters, even a pinball spin-off... then Other M happened and the whole thing went into hibernation.
Very well done video. As a long time fan of Metroid - its very interesting to hear the perspective of a newer fan. Keep up the nice work with your videos.
Metroid 2 may have aged but it's better than samus returns because it has an actual atmosphere and is challenging and fun. Anyways I loved the closing thoughts you offered on the series . They were very heartwarming and optimistic especially when you reminded people that metroid survived the draughts between super and prime and other m and federation force
Yeah a good portion of us fans of Metroid since the good ol days of the NES don't like Metroid Other M for a plethora of reasons. From the acting, to the story, to just how the characters were handled is the main short version of the why.
I've recently picked up my playthrough of Prime! Been really enjoying it, just wish I had more time to set aside for it. Especially once we know more about when Prime 4 is coming, I intend on trying to make a similar video for the Prime trilogy 🤘
such a quality vid for a dude on 300 subs, keep up the hustle and your channel could be huge
Thank you so much! Working hard to keep cool videos coming

I didn't catch that small flub until after I uploaded the episode and it haunts me to this day lol

I've heard a lot about route breaking in Zero Mission! I'll definitely have to go back and learn some tricks

That's awesome! There's nothing like finding a series. Can't believe Dread is almost here

Great job dude!

I super agree. But I have a feeling Dread is really going to leave a lasting impact! It's easily my game of the year for 2021

I know this is old but I'd love to know your thoughts on Dread and the Prime Trilogy if you've played those now.

Not bad at all. You and Luker are in the same boat with the quality of editing for such a low number of subscribers
