I yell "Look out for the Neurotoxin!" and get chastised by the people around me for trying to create a panic. Some people seriously need to play Portal.
Don't I wish. But honestly by letting us keep this video up they have given us some great advertising and I am eternally grateful. They even put us in their e-book "The Final Hours of Portal 2." Can't beat that kind of exposure! Thanks Valve. It's hard to enjoy. Not because kids are singing it, but because it sounds better with one, creepy, 8 bit, female, evil voice. And they messed with the pitch at "these points of data". It also distracts from how dark the song really is.
? Even GLaDOS doesn’t sing the song with a sinister tone, and that is the point. It is a dark song that is sung to a cheery tune. The same way GLaDOS tries to hide her sinister motives with cake and a cutesy robotic voice, but it slips through anyway 😉🍰
Kind of off putting having a choir of little kids sing a song of an AI that's batshit. Still better than a lot of live performances I've seen! Nothing but Christina Agulera style singing in a lot of them. This wasn't half bad.
You know in sports when singers sing the Star Spangled Banner, but they ALL feel the need to put their own weird twist on it, totally changing the cadence and tone at certain points? I don't like how the kids did that here in the 2nd verse.
This is a triumph, I making a note here "HUGE SUCCESS". It's hard to overstate my satisfaction. Gilford's kids choir, they do what they must... because.. they can. For the good of all of us except the ones who are dead. Now there's no sense crying over every mistake, it's a kids choir for God's sake! But the music gets done and they have a lot of fun for the people who are still alive.
