The great video I appreciate all the information I can get on a c4 cuz I am working with two right now and the only way I can try them is put them in the car and take them out and put the them in the car. But I am making progress and learning

Can you take them to a shop and test them? I have mine out and breaking down right now. When I assemble it back I want to test it before I install and have to take out again

Very interesting. Surprising how long converter pressure takes

A lot of the reason is my pump to fill the trans is kinda slow. Much less volume than the transmissions pump.

I'm betting the modulator valve was the first problem. Years ago I had manual shift kitted ford valve body that never had the vaccum modulator connected. So I decided to remove the modulator valve. It delayed the shifts by a bit and shoften the 2-3 shift. I put it back in. It obviously still has some effect of blocking/or allow fluid to certain circuits.

That was the reason for the high pressure your right about that.

I wonder if the output shaft being not supported may be the governor sealing rings are not sealing as they should and there is not enough pressure to shift the 2-3 shift valve.
I had that happen one time that a C4 transmission would 1-2 shift but not 2-3 shift. Replaced the sealing rings on the output shaft and it fixed the problem.

      That's a good point. I'm sure it doesn't help.

@@BroaderPerformance my 66c4 with a 67 valve body wont shift into 3rd. the trans has been rebuilt and air checks good. Valve body was rebuilt with a transgo kit and it still wont shift into 3rd. kickdown is adjusted, it had the same issue before the rebuild, should i get another valve body? the car is a 66 mustang 200-6.
