I realize I could've probably used the chainlift method for all of these (except the wild mouse maybe), but I only thought of the chainlift method when it was time for the looping coaster and didn't realize how universally applicable it is until I was editing the video.
I liked seeing different methods being used, so I'm glad you didn't use it for (nearly) all of them!!

You have to be more creative to make a coaster stack, than a long coaster
Surrounded by weeds and where the coaster trains just keep bobbing up and down like some sort of kiddie ride.
@@archtansterpg4246 Kiddie ride? I would be terrified riding any of these floating coasters! Who knows if they ever return to the station? Who knows if the magic holding them up is gonna stop working and they come crashing down? Also, that giga coaster is high enough to activate my fear of heights xD

he had a path of staircases, to all exits. Due to the entrances beeing just next to them, he just needed to add one single tile of cue-line for each coaster ands the guests could actualy ride them. A missed opportunaty that he didn't.
I'm sure this is how Chris Sawyer intended this map to be played

Days ago, I was wondering what kind of 'Marcel-ish' video left that you could make for RCT since you have explored and abused a lot of ideas and mechanics already, but this is a very creative video that also abuses concepts that you haven't exploited often. Really well done, I'm very impressed!
Thanks! A few days ago I was bored and mucking about with overshooting block brakes and I suddenly got this idea. Did the challenge the same night and here's the video.
But against all odds, Marcel is such a Chad he is able to beat Ghost Town with 60 tiles of land.
Usually when a title includes a question you should assume no. Marcel is the one time where I know he will do it, then watch the video and still go “he did it. That crazy sob did it!

Funny how I have always viewed Marcel as "really good" at RCT, but the intricate detail and knowledge required to pull this off easily puts him as a legendary master.

This challenge is the RCT equivalent of jumping into a tiny pool from the top of a skyscraper, and I love it.
Marcel fulfills his contract while keeping the historical land of the ghost town intact.
I love that the solution is just "10 extremely short roller coasters that exploit the hell out of the game's loopholes".

5:05 If the leading car of the train staying in just a part of a track doesn't count for any drops.
Oh crap that's it yeah. The game counts drop height as the height between the first track piece of the drop and the last track piece, but if there is no transition between track pieces there is no drop.

I'm always amazed at Marcel's ability to create micro-parks. But then I remember that he's Dutch, so he basically has a racial bonus for efficiently using land.

@@nthgth The in-game Hyper Twister model that uses the wide cars is B&M, while the one with the 2x6-Seater car trains model is Giovanola, and Marcel used the latter in this case when building his Hyper Twister coaster.

This is absolutely mad, and I absolutely love it. I'm so curious - do you write a plan for how you'll execute the challenge before attempting, or do you just go for it?
I had the wooden coaster design ready and checked if I had access to 10 coaster types that could probably pull off the same trick and get to 7 excitement. Outside of that I just winged this one.
Imagine paying a park engineer millions of dollars to build you a mega park and you pull up after years of construction and see this

The most interesting part is that if needed he could have earned extra cash with coasters. It was just a matter of connecting the entrances in the exits, and then, the exits to the bottom of the park

I've definitely run into that issue with mechanics when I made a 500-foot high 13x13 park. The game doesn't take altitude into account when assigning mechanics to rides, so a park where every ride exit had the same XY coordinate had no chance of functioning long-term

This is a park I have never actually beaten because it felt like it needed a level of patience I simply don't have, especially when I played before OpenRCT2 existed, waiting for coasters to unlock and trying to build massively long and exciting coasters was just too much for me... However, with these tactics I may actually try again and cheese my way to a win.

The hyper-twister takes 28 seconds to cover 9548m. I reckon that's a speed of 1227km/hr - a fun challenge might be to try and find the fastest ride speed of distance/time?
That was awesome! For comparisons sake, how many tiles would you expect to use with "legitimate" ride lengths?
My guess as to why the twister didn't work with the longer trains but did with the shorter is that the longer train is able to hit the threshold between two different height units and each time it bobs it barely passes that threshold

Hey Marcel! I have a video idea for you. You extensively covered the coaster types, but what if you analyzed the RMC coaster, Single Rail coaster, etc, that they added in Open Rct? It would be nice to see how they fare with the other coasters

You do several where you limit tile space and make tall parks.
How about the inverse? You can have a super wide park but you cannot go above or below the ground meaning no coasters can have slopes or lifts.
Its crazy what you can still do with RCT after all these years!!!

Marcel you’re like literally a RollerCoaster tycoon God, you attempt the never before done and you can always figure out so many ways to beat those challenges.
How bout the next challenge be to beat Micro park by beating the scenario with EXACTLY $100,000 park value at the end. Odds of beating it that way are severely hard but I think you can do it

Hey Marcel, I was wondering if you were going to continue your 'Marcel plays RCT' series. I really enjoyed those 3 videos so far and I'm looking forward to a new one. You are the best!
I would bet that the shorter train works to reduce the Drops because the position of the train is measured in the game by its 'center', and the center of the shorter train never leaves the same track piece. Perhaps the game only calculates stats when the train transitions from one piece to the next (and records current speed, g-force, etc) and uses a formula to calculate the stats based on the 'entry condition' to that track piece.
Ahh yes... spreading weeds... the famous dutch freetime activity.
