This is the first part of our Alaska series! Join us as we depart Vancouver for the world famous Inside Passage of Alaska. In this episode we learn about local first nations, timber and gold mining history of the region. We spot loads of wildlife including Humpbacks on their annual migration and get up close to giant tidewater glaciers cruising with the premier cruise company in the region!
    Chapters:
    Introduction 0:00
    Cruising the Inside Passage 1:49
Departing from Vancouver, Canada we head up inside the inside passage, during our at sea days we show off the features and luxury of Holland America's MS Noordam and take in the stunning surroundings of the region.
    Ketchikan 5:31
Officially arriving into Alaska we check out the picturesque town of Ketchikan. Our first experience is the Saxman Village which is home to 25 Totem Poles, there we learn about the First Nations history in the region before returning to town to watch the hilarious Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show.
    Juneau 14:24
Docking into Alaska's capital we head out to view some of the local wildlife on a Humpback Whale watching tour. We view many whales on their annual migration along with seals and bald eagles before stopping at the Mendenhall Glacier where we view Sockeye Salmon swimming upstream to spawn. We return back to Juneau and visit the famous Red Dog Saloon, an icon from the Gold mining era.
    Skagway 22:18
At the centre of the Gold Rush was Skagway, this was the port access for gold miners heading up to the Yukon gold fields. Here we explore this old gold mining settlement, undertake a small hike to Smugglers Cove and board the iconic White Pass Scenic Railway.
    Glacier Bay 29:02
The jewel of every Alaskan Cruise is Glacier Bay. Not only where the astounding Glaciers superb but for us the wildlife was most impresive. Here we saw Mountain Goats high above, Humpback Whales, Seals and loads of adorable Sea Otters cuddling up on broke pieces of glacial ice.
    College Fjord 37:48
We believe the best was saved for last! This stop isn't always available on Alaskan itineraries and is subject to good weather. We were lucky enough to enter into the College Fjord which in our opinion had the most impressive tidewater glaciers of all. 5 within close proximity we get up close to the largest of these glaciers, the Harvard Glacier. A perfect way to end our week long voyage along the famous Inside Passage in Alaska.
Join us in this series as we journey inland and further explore North America's Northermost, Largest and most remote state. We get up close to plenty more astounding Glaciers, loads of wildlife and land on North America's highest mountain!

I am not a 'crusier' and taking this trip in July. I watched a bunch of these videos, but they were all by 'crusiers' going to Alaska. This one was the best by far with adventurers cruising to Alaska. I am going for the views, the wildlife and the adventure.

I wanted to say we did the White Pass Railway, had clear sunny weather and even had a conductor in our train car to answer questions. It was one of the highlights. I’m sorry it was not that for you. We had terrible rain in Ketchikan and you had a fabulous day. Crazy how the weather is all over the place.

You stopped in to Bawden Street Brewery while you were in Ketchikan! That was my go to place when I lived in Ketchikan. It seems like it was a little windy the day you were there. If your crab feast trip was the one where you leave Clover Pass resort and take a boat trip to the feast, it may have been cancelled due to choppy seas in Clover Pass.

At Mendenhall glacier, there are actually 2 parks. Tourists are usually directed to the visitor center. But if you go across the lake to the other park Where they start a lot of the Rafting tours There will be a trail go about a mile and then there will be a Picnic area on the right. Then immediately take a left, and there will be a sign warning you about the dangers of going to the Glacier. That is where the trail begins. Just be careful and don't do anything above your skill level.
