  • .50 cal 3D printed airgun bullets shot out of my "MAS" marshmallow launcher. All three bullets were fired at around 110 psi into a block of homemade ballistics gel ( • How to Make Ballistics... ) the MAS is capable of firing objects of similar mass at 700fps (~215m/s)

It's funny you say that. I thought the lead one looks like a butt plug

What kind of range can you get on one?

Holy crap, the damage to the gel! These could seriously hurt or kill someone! Never thought 3d printed pellets would perform so above their weight class, so to speak. Question is, how is accuracy? I doubt these come out as consistently as commercial molded/pressed pellets, right?

@@TSKNBgaming Yeah, but .50 caliber isn't just some magic number where "Above this caliber, it's suddenly worth banning". Also my math was wrong. The lead slug was almost 400 grains, not that far off from a 12 gauge shotgun slug, which explains why it did what it did.
I think (not sure, but I'd expect) that if you shot the gel with an old "Brown Bess" with .75 caliber round ball, the results wouldn't be THAT impressive. Just guessing though. Although, maybe I'm wrong because a .75 caliber lead ball weighs almost double what this one does.

They can come out consistent that's why I prefer 3d printing over casting. For serious power I might make some aluminium pellets with copper plating.
