Love watching vids of bikers enjoying this area. I've got roots in blanchland so Am so lucky I live in the north east i get to experience these roads alot. Hope you had a lovely time
I enjoyed your video. I didn't realise the 250 started so close to where I live, only a couple of miles. I will have to do the whole route too sometime. I have been meaning to book a night at The Holly Bush for ages.
Haltwhistle… You should have turned off your satnav and just headed for the square in the middle of the village! There’s a plaque on the ground you can park right by. It was one of the destinations in 2022’s NESC riders challenge.
Really enjoyed this, thank you. Just for your background knowledge on the felled trees around Allenheads and Kielder: Storm Arwen, and then Malik, devastated the forests in and across Northumberland and these need to be cleared this year to be used for chipping mainly, as biofuel and wood pellets (you can't use windblow for structural stuff, because it's full of "shakes" and delaminates along the grain).
Thanks for the info! I guessed there would have been a lot of storm damage, but I was just so surprised around that bit. So that's interesting to know. Thanks
@@gonetouring The figure I have - my son works in forestry - is around 16 million trees were lost across Northumberland and the Scottish borders, a lot of these around the A68 - which leads past Kielder up to Carter Bar. That's about 8000 hectares, which is about 20,000 acres - it's lot of wood. The docks at Berwick are still stacked now, I noticed when I was there last week, and it's being shipped across to Europe for processing (we probably buy it back, as processed particle board and wood pellets).
Just what I needed, I’m doing it on the 22nd & 23rd of July, going the same way. But I’m staying in Newcastle on the 21st. So a long day to Berwick on the 22nd but a shorter day on the 23rd back to Newcastle, then home to Lincolnshire on the 24th.
A great start to touring Northumberland, and the weather behaved!
Great video looking forward to seeing the next one
Cheers, next one is longer so will need a lot of editing LOL!

You are very lucky! We have just been back to finish off the N250, so watch out for that soon.

That's amazing... shocking even! So much damage! LOL, yep, we probably will import it all back in.

You'll enjoy it! Lot of miles if you're 2 up fully loaded, but great fun riding solo
@@gonetouring doing it solo this time so just me to worry about.
Perfect! Enjoy!
