Greetings from Romania! Thanks for those very usefull videos! It changed my option! Great work, mate!
Glad I could help!
Did you try Lukmanier Pass from Disentis to Southern Switzerland afterwards or did you opt for Splügen Pass?
From Disentis, we got as far as the Santa Maria Restaurant after the lake, but the weather turned really bad and with the San Bernardino Pass shut, we headed back over. The Splugen pass would have been a good choice though!
Those car drivers didn't like to be overtaken by motorbikes!
they certainly didn't!
Great video, we did furka in July, you packed plenty of info in . Thanks 👍
Glad it was helpful! I still think it's my favourite. Did you do the Klausen pass? Thats was amazing, apart from the bumpy road section lol!
@@gonetouring no we didn't do klausen, we did albula, susten, grimsel, furka, julier, stelvio and some other ones that we came across but don't remember the names.
Fantastic!
This way reservoirs are vulnerable to stones, why would Ducati use such a poor designed brackets? I don't get it :(
There may be better designs from aftermarket companies for the more serious off roader.
best video I've seen for using the Eurotunnel!
Shows in great detail and makes it look very easy
It's definitely a great road!
Much overlooked pass but actually a great varied road and scenery.
Very useful video!
Definitely one of the best roads in Switzerland
Enjoying your Northumberland videos. That's where I do most of my own videos, mainly little off the beaten track, Secret Squirrel routes. 🙂 When you come back, feel free to drop me a line for some suggestions should you feel the need. I recommend not adhering to the N250 route too strictly. You can detour to find interesting places and rejoin the 250 again very easily. Re. Your puncture. Sabotage does happen, some people dislike motorcyclists, sadly. Luckily, it was very slow - although it might not have felt like it lol! There is nothing worse than a slow puncture that doesn't even let you get more than a couple of miles before it needs pumping back up. Also, good you had tyre pressure warning to monitor it. Finally, The Gun at Ridsdale! Good pub, and I grew up in Ridsdale as a kid. Some marvellous Secret Squirrel routes around that area!
That's fantastic.. you are very lucky..Northumberland is a wonderful area.. we'll definitely be back again! Thank-you for taking the time to leave a comment, it's very much appreciated
I have to agree 100%. I`m also in Northumberland, and there are so many incredible roads off the beaten track. Sundays can be "busy" relatively speaking, but weekdays on the back roads it can feel like you`ve been gifted the roads to yourself. The next time you visit the area, I would suggest exploring the Otterburn ranges. Miles and miles of incredible scenery, good condition roads .(but watch out for sheep poo) , and often not another car for hours on end. there are also some nice forest tracks to ride, and the gravel is finer than the Keilder drive. It is so quiet you might think you`ve gone deaf. Rothbury is lovely, and very biker friendly. Northumberland has so many nice roads, and great places to explore that one visit is never going to be enough, in fact I think you should just move here 😁. I`ve loved watching your videos, and just subscribed.
Hi, thanks for that info, you're very lucky to live in such a beautiful area! thanks for subscribing!
@jonnytimerider Fully agree. I was up past Holystone onto the edge of the Otterburn moors recently and made an ASMR video of it. But what's happened to the nice autumn weather? It's been abysmal this last week lol.
Another short summer !
This is definitely worth the £5 !
Fail to Prepare..... Prepare to Fail !
A great start to touring Northumberland, and the weather behaved!
Who knew... Northumberland is partly in Scotland, HAHA
Rear tyre punctured - was it sabotage though?
Absolutely Stunning!
Those one-Side-open- Tunnels we call them "Galerie". they are in Places that just by Terrain wouldn't call for a Tunnel, but the Road needs to be protected from frequent Avalanches or Rock/Mudslides and they are also found on many Railroadlines. Avalanches and Slides can just go over them without ruining the Road/Railroad everytime they occur. I've heard Canadians calling them Snowsheds, but I'm swiss, so I don't know if that Name is used in all english speaking Places.... Greetings from Switzerland.
Hi, thanks for that... every day is a school day! Love learning different things.
@@gonetouring you're welcome :) For the bumpiness, well there's not much that can be done. the Mountains are in constant Movement, in Winter there's Snow for a long time, Rockfalls or Rocks that are moved by the Snow, Meltingwater that gets into Cracks formed by the moving Mountains... that's the natural Side of it. Those Passroads don't serve any real Purpose anymore nowadays where there are Tunnels under the Alps with fast and easy all Year round open Roads... History, Tourism, alpine farming and Hydropower (Grimsel) still use them to a small Degree. It's way too expensive to repair them to absolute Perfection, just to be bombed by Avalanches and Stones again most of the Year. They aren't important and used enough anymore to justify huge renewing Projects. Plus the Bumpiness slows down Motorists considerably, which helps reducing the huge yearly Number of fatal Accidents on those Stretches. That's why there are so many "SLOW DOWN" Signs posted along the Routes...
Absolutely agree, we aren't aware of those things in the UK, makes sense now you explain it though, thanks
Amazing changes of Scenery on this part of the route
Haltwhistle… You should have turned off your satnav and just headed for the square in the middle of the village! There’s a plaque on the ground you can park right by. It was one of the destinations in 2022’s NESC riders challenge.
Arghhhh... good info, wish I'd known that.. Might pop back up but this time on my Scooter!
These screws came in really useful when I got a puncture during my Northumberlan 250 tour!
So simple and tidy an idea!
These are brilliant if you are using your phone for the Sat Nav or Apple car Play / Android Auto capabilities
For the price, you can't go wrong trying one of these
Needs to be watched in the highest resolution, choose 4K
I think this is the best way to cross the English Channel
Excellent I enjoyed that Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Bello, vi consiglio di fare passo del Furka, strade bellissime 👍👍👍
Grazie mille, guarda il video in arrivo presto
Looks beautiful.
It was!
Love watching vids of bikers enjoying this area. I've got roots in blanchland so Am so lucky I live in the north east i get to experience these roads alot. Hope you had a lovely time
You are very lucky! We have just been back to finish off the N250, so watch out for that soon.
I've just realised I have watched these out of order. I thought I'd missed some of the route. I've been meaning to stay at The Holly Bush.
Lol... part C. .. actually, number 4 in the series should be uploaded in the next few days, hopefully. Thanks for leaving a comment.
You seem to have been very lucky with the weather. Every time I have been to Jedburgh petrol station I have seen bikes there. I think this route has always been a popular riding route. There are some lovely roads.
Yes.. it's a good stopover on the way up through Scotland, too. It usually rains on our tours.. wait until you see our European adventure! Lol might be a few weeks before they start to appear, though.
Another great video really enjoying this Did you plan the route yourself
I bought the Official Map for the route, then planned around that. Should have taken another day or 2 to visit some of the recommended places though.
Really enjoyed this, thank you. Just for your background knowledge on the felled trees around Allenheads and Kielder: Storm Arwen, and then Malik, devastated the forests in and across Northumberland and these need to be cleared this year to be used for chipping mainly, as biofuel and wood pellets (you can't use windblow for structural stuff, because it's full of "shakes" and delaminates along the grain).
Thanks for the info! I guessed there would have been a lot of storm damage, but I was just so surprised around that bit. So that's interesting to know. Thanks
@@gonetouring The figure I have - my son works in forestry - is around 16 million trees were lost across Northumberland and the Scottish borders, a lot of these around the A68 - which leads past Kielder up to Carter Bar. That's about 8000 hectares, which is about 20,000 acres - it's lot of wood. The docks at Berwick are still stacked now, I noticed when I was there last week, and it's being shipped across to Europe for processing (we probably buy it back, as processed particle board and wood pellets).
That's amazing... shocking even! So much damage! LOL, yep, we probably will import it all back in.
I enjoyed your video. I didn't realise the 250 started so close to where I live, only a couple of miles. I will have to do the whole route too sometime. I have been meaning to book a night at The Holly Bush for ages.
Great roads!
Looks great I've just submitted
That's great. Cheers
Just what I needed, I’m doing it on the 22nd & 23rd of July, going the same way. But I’m staying in Newcastle on the 21st. So a long day to Berwick on the 22nd but a shorter day on the 23rd back to Newcastle, then home to Lincolnshire on the 24th.
You'll enjoy it! Lot of miles if you're 2 up fully loaded, but great fun riding solo
@@gonetouring doing it solo this time so just me to worry about.
Perfect! Enjoy!
What crashbars do you use? (Only name that i recognize is "Sports Edition" :) )
They are HEED bars.
Great video looking forward to seeing the next one
Cheers, next one is longer so will need a lot of editing LOL!
Great video. Can you still adjust the windscreen height with the gps mounted?
Yes, you can!
Update on my comment I made but has now gone lol this route is well worth the £5 😁
Yep..totally is 👍
Thank you for the video and the description, it is well understood. I really like your carbon windscreen because it is matte not bright. Will you be so kind to tell me the manufacturer and where have you got the space bars to put it with some distance from the Sat Nav? Thank you so much for your help. Best regards
Hi. The screen and spacers were already fitted when I bought the bike, so I'm unable to help further
Thank You
Excellent video, thank for taking the time to create it and share it with us the motorcycle enthusiasts!! from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Thank you for the comment, that is very appreciated.
Thanks for the video. If you overtighten the nut you will wear out the bearings prematurely. 190Nm seems really high for a regular swingarm. Various forums are listing 156Nm (which still seem high). I owned a 996 and it, like all single sided swingarms, needed really high torque values. Cheers
Yes.. you're absolutely right! I've retorqued the nut to 180 and updated the description. Thanks
You're ready for everything !!! Nice to see my old comfort seat .. I think it was me who sold that to you ? :-) Which frame bags are those ? Look good ... I have bar bag for a few nick nacks.
It's a great bike! And ready to go to the Swiss Alps in just a few days time.. I've put the touring screen on rather thsn the small carbon one. For me, it works better with my noisy helmet. Cheap bags from AliExpress lol Cheers
Thanks for the excellent video! I've been searching for the correct torque number, consensus seems to be that the 230 Nm is for the single sided swing arm MTS, 156-180 seems to be what's prescribed for MTS950/V2. Although my local shop just told me 60-70 Nm is much better. I wish Ducati just simply published the numbers.
Yes, I couldn't find any figures which were consistent so I went for a higher figure. Since then I've reduced it to 190 Nm. Thank you for that information
Seems still allot man ...my yamaha r1 needs just 110nm rear...grts from belgium 😊
yep, I was surprised too!
Why are there Zip Ties on a few of the spokes?
Very good spot! I put them on to mark alongside where my punctures where, taken them off once I remembered they were still on..
@@gonetouring Great idea! I have the same bike and I love those red wheels, but they are a chore to keep clean!!
Yep, especially the inside bits of the spokes!
Thank you for your clear way of description.
Glad it was helpful, and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
